Not necessarily though there is a fair amount of overlap but that’s not necessarily a negative. Having a diverse portfolio is KEY; that being said my initial deposit of a hundred K has grown to over $720K in only just ten months :)
I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty stupid for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!!!
Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in equity index funds, ETFs and various high-quality stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this has quite increased my prospects of making money.
For some reason I'm still drawn to FTEC. Lower expense ratio. Lower share price. Higher dividend distribution amount. FTEC and VGT are quite similar. Similar volume. Similar long-term market returns. I suppose it really just comes down to Fidelity or Vanguard.
I love all your ETF comparison videos. I didn't know which one to pick and you provided some good suggestions. Please keep making EFT and mutual fund vidoes!
I was on the fence with a few options. Your conclusion was my top pick as well. But there were a few more factors you compared them on, so now I feel more assured. Thank you kindly.
In all honesty, based off everything he discussed in the video FTEC actually looks like the winner over VGT...VGT just barely beat it in performance and FTEC pretty much won all the other topics
@@Constitution1789 I have VGT but not enough to make decent dividends to get compound interest to make a difference. I'm liking FTECH but will look at XLK too.
Hey loved yourt videos! Looks like the Schwab comparison tool does not work anymore the way you have been presenting. Their new comparison tool is not as good do you recommend anything else or what are you using atm? Thanks a lot!
My current portfolio has 5 stocks in it. VOO, VGT, VYM, VNQ, AND VCR. I have VOO as my core holding which takes up 50-55% of my entire portfolio. I want VGT to be my 2nd biggest holding, with the other 3 pretty much equal in percentage. Out of the remaining 50% of my portfolio, how much do you think I could allocate for VGT? I was thinking 25% , and then split the remaining 25% between the 3 other stocks
Hey shroud! I can't say specifically since I don't know your risk tolerance and what you're trying to accomplish. For me I try to beat the S&P 500; that's my benchmark. So if I'm creating a core-and-satellite portfolio like you are, one thing I think about is sector weight. The S&P 500 is maybe around 27% tech right now. So I think about if I like Tech and if I determine that i do like tech, I want my portfolio to maybe have a little more weight in tech than the 27%. So i decide on the weight I want, whether its 30%, 35% etc.. then I allocate from there. Hope that helps you figure it out!
I’m keen on getting into sector etfs such as IT (Currently only invested in global etfs) As a long term investor, How can I go about researching/choosing a sector ETF for the long term?
Hi, great content, new subscriber. I'm from the UK, how do I invest in VGT as in which broker would be best, (Etoro, freetrade etc) and can I actually invest in VGT from the UK?
Nice thanks for subscribing Zak Zak! Not sure exactly which brokers are best in the UK. But I do think I've seen videos of UK Investors investing in Vanguard funds. If the ETF isn't available maybe the index fund would be available instead. But not exactly sure.
Interesting how the "I don't own a securities license" popped up at 1:16 and disappeared so fast. I see Florida and run to the hills with saged advice.
I have a 3 fund portfolio but I have finally decided to invest in ETFs, alongside. I’m looking at SCHD, VOO, XLK or SCHG.
Great picks! I like XLK and SCHD equally!
@@StanHopson thank you! Actually would it be silly to have both?

Awesome glad you liked them, Jinxin!
VGT for the win! Honorable mention for FTEC because it is the cheapest option that is competitive.
iitu, xstc and yes xlk beats vgt
@@Yesthatisme14 Depending on the starting point. From 2010, VGT has outperformed XLK according portfolio visualizer.

But XLK is cheaper to buy . Wouldn’t that be more shares ?

Awesome glad you were able to make your decision 🙂
Been waiting for this one. I been considering buying in to this sector
Nice! Thanks for the comment, Jerry.
Another useful video, packed full of relevant information! Congrats on 3K SUBS!
Thanks so much John! Sorry for the delayed reply haha
Great channel. You need updated videos on the same series.
I like VGT and RYT. I'm planning to get XLK for cost.
Gracias amigo.. tu video ha sido muy bueno y educativo..
FTEC and VGT have nearly identical returns over time. What about the lower cost QQQM ?
Hi Robbie! Now a days, would you think the same about VGT? Thanks in advance. GReets from Argentina
My roth is in fxaix and brokerage acc is in ftec good combo
Thanks for the video! 😀
What website are you using for the comparison charts? They look super useful!
Thanks Lee Ann! That is the Charles Schwab ETF comparison tool. If you have a Schwab account you have access to it. 👍

with that being said...XLK beats both! lol
I'm glad you also noticed that. I feel the same way about FTEC.

VGT/Qqqm/Soxq combo is the way to go in 2024.
Can’t go wrong with QQQ, XLK, VGT. There’s one I really like it’s a software ETF IGV.
Thanks Andrew! I'll take a look at that!
