I don't think in Vanguard you can buy fractional shares for ETF but you can with mutual fund. Do you know of any (fidelity, schwab, etc) that lets you buy fractional ETF for your Roth IRA?

I bought mutual funds in order to DCA. But I'm thinking of doing a different approach. I want to max my roth IRA at the beginning of the year since they say "time in market beats timing the market." If that's the case, and I do max for the year on January...do I still need to have the mutual fund or is it better to switch it to ETF since I will no longer be doing DCA?

I currently max my Roth IRA and want to invest more. I'm self employed and not sure if I should invest the rest into my brokerage account, open a sep ira or solo 401k?

The reason there is 506 stock is because certain securities have multiple classes of shares (eg BRK/A and BRK/B), alphabet shares, etc.

What ETFS or INDEX FUNDS would you recommend for a TRADITIONAL IRA account?

You can trade with unsettled funds at Schwab. You can call them and ask for ways to get better interest and they will go over money markets, CDs, etc. They advertise their MM rates on their statements and their website. So Schwab is not costing you thousands, but you could help yourself earn more by putting in a little work.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. The problem I see with this is that bmy lost 30% for 1y and 3y. It lost 6% over 5y. So the scwab pic lost money. In their favor, they did downgrade to a 'c'

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Charles Schwab checking, savings, and investor checking accounts ARE NOT HYSA. Now if you’re investing in their Intelligent Portfolios, the cash inside of your portfolio earns a VERY ATTRACTIVE interest rate (currently between 4.3% and 5%), which is very competitive with any HYSA out there. Terrible video.

Superficial but Fidelity’s UI is super intuitive and their mobile app is also fantastic, there’s nothing you can do on a desktop that can’t be achieved with the app. My only fidelity grip is that I have my Roth IRA setup for direct deposit and the account is set up to pick my own investment strategy. I can’t set up a rule to auto invest direct deposits. But on the flip side initiating a trade with fidelity takes less than a minute with their mobile app, so in the grand scheme of things, not a big complaint considering I’ll only need to do it roughly 20 times a year

Been with Schwab for 6 years. Retired at 44 trading with multiple accounts/IRA ..Etc...never had any issues until the last the last TOS outage. Lost over 12k due to the swing trade, but I have made over 7 figures, so oh well ...😊

Why is fidelity annoying with settlement. Buy stock and settlement in a day. Sell said stock, settlement in a day…. You cannot then buy another stock until Wednesday. Wtf - nobody else is like this

Schwab sucks.

For some reason I'm still drawn to FTEC. Lower expense ratio. Lower share price. Higher dividend distribution amount. FTEC and VGT are quite similar. Similar volume. Similar long-term market returns. I suppose it really just comes down to Fidelity or Vanguard.
