I really respect Ryan Reynolds for how much he did to get the movie made, including the pay cut. After seeing Deadpool and Wolverine, I am finally comfortable saying that Ryan Reynolds is as good at playing Deadpool as Heath Ledger was at playing the Joker.

I really respect Ryan Reynolds for how much he did to get the movie made, including the pay cut. Plus how he wasn't really concerned about money for deadpool 3 so much as he was concerned for the spoilers potentially ruining the experience for the audiences. It shows he's passionate about the project and wants the fans to have fun.
Also, so incredible of Hugh Jackman to come back as Wolverine. I think at one point he said that he'd only come back as Wolverine if the character did a crossover with Deadpool (don't quote me on that, I can't remember 100%). Either way, massive respect to both of these actors.

Disney didn’t reject Deadpool, Fox owned the rights to Deadpool because his first appearance was in an X-Men comic, New Mutants, and he tended to be in issues involving the X-Men. When Marvel properties were actioned off they were typically vaguely broad on their terms so the X-Men rights included all their characters and those associated with X-Men, which includes Deadpool. There was an attempt by New Line, since they didn’t believe there was a rights issue when in fact there was.

He never said that Disney said no to Deadpool 3 because it was rated R, they didn’t want to do it because it was going to be a Christmas themed roadtrip movie with Deadpool and Wolverine. Hugh Jackman confirmed in an interview that he agreed to do Deadpool 3 before the Disney/Fox merger even finalized. Disney was open to doing a little bit of rated R stuff long before this or they wouldn’t have bought Fox and Hulu, they just didn’t announce it until after the merger went through and they started merging Disney+ and Hulu.

Eternals came out during the downward spiral, and if you compare the script to guardians it's laughable.
