I like this case, but I REALLY wish they did an OLED version of the original (black) GripCase in black and white. There's something about the materials and the angle of the grips that just feels better to me. I feel like my hands are more rotated when holding the old case, which makes it easier to reach the stick and the buttons without straining.
Interesting, I've never tried those older cases and would be curious to see how the different grips feel. I really do enjoy the shape of the current plus grips though. Thanks for watching!
Love the feel of the gripcase OLED but I had to remove it because it doesn't let my Switch charge in the dock. So my gripcase is resting in my Maxcase. Max bummer.
Yeah, they could even sell them individually for existing grip owners. I find the shape of the plus grip to be incredibly comfortable, but a little extra grip on there would make the NeoGrip the winner for me in the grip wars
It’s funny, I kind of didn’t believe that the materials had changed at the time, but I just went and looked at it and it’s completely clear. The old GripCase Crystal I had on the other hand has gotten pretty yellow
Mine doesn’t dock properly . I have to push the top switch really hard for it to connect and soon as I let go of the switch it disconnects from the dock
So I've been using the NeoGrip as my main Switch grip and the GripCase OLED has mostly been in storage this entire time. That said, the material they're using on the GripCase OLED does seem to be more resistant to yellowing than previous versions. My GripCase OLED looks the same as the day I received it. I know UV light is usually the main culprit when it comes to this kind of plastic yellowing, but even my old GripCase which was also mostly in storage the entire time had already started yellowing at this point.

That's strange, I haven't had any issues like that with mine. Just have to give it a little extra press like I show in the video. The only thing I can think of is making sure the case itself is aligned properly. Bummer that it's not working for you, that's the main appeal of the case! Another one that isn't docking here. I can press and hold it down to dock, but once I release the pressure, it disconnects. Case is snug all round, well mostly, the floating buttons lift it at the top edges a bit, holes for alignment pins are lined up. Just won't dock. Probably should have guessed this would happen the first time I tried it without the matt tape and it got stuck halfway down. Now I get to have crappy adhesive residue inside the dock as added insult.

@@DevinSporteh1681 Thanks. Yeah, I emailed them outlining my issues docking. It's advertised as dockable, and frankly, I wouldn't have got it if it wasn't. I dislike the pressure that's placed on the joycon rails as you remove these full coverage cases. So having to take it off to dock has the case sitting unused for the moment. Didn't say anything about the adhesive on those matt stickers they supplied, though should have, all that residue is really bugging me heh
You know what, I just looked closely at it and it looks the same as when I bought it. I do think my old GripCase Crystal yellowed quicker. Maybe they did actually change the materials. That said, I do think pretty much any clear plastic will yellow somewhat eventually
I like this grip so much more than the Satisfye one but I love the Satisfye elite carry case better. If you could combine these two things it would make one ultimate bundle. Lol
@@cdegenova1761 yes, I think the skullnco is more comfortable. Grip alone it’s skullnco every time but factor in wanting a case with it then the Satisfye comes out ahead in my book so I go Satisfye. Skullnco customer service and dependability is leaps and bounds better than Satisfye as well.
As an unsponsored user here, DO NOT BUY THIS GRIP CASE "IF" you don't want to have problems of docking to your switch dock, this grip case needs to be improve. Bought this because I trust what skull & co said to their page, but unfortunately it didn't really did the job. BUY THIS "IF" you are you using the dock and play handheld mode. The grip and feels are good and it will avoid scratches to your unit.
@@NeiltendoPower I tried my regular switch with the case and it seems to work, I believe that having a screen protector helps with the docking. I’m getting one next week and will update if it works.
Not mine. Some people are able to force it into their dock but Skull & Co. themselves say it’s not intended to be. I addressed this in my NeoGrip review
@@NeiltendoPower they told me themselves. I emailed them asking about a return/refund and they offered to send an updated model on release instead. That said, their customer service has been poor as of late so we'll see if they follow through. Since it takes about a month to ship, I'll msg you mid March of it actually arrive
@@yeniindarti2836 the revised model is a step up. Basically just slimmed the back so it's less likely to get stuck on the glossy dock making docking/removing much easier. They also provided mate tape to place inside the dock to decrease resistance just in case it (but idk if tat comes standard or if it's because I reached out. Some reviewers with a day 1 model got them. Others didn't so idk). Not sure if they did anything or of it needed to be broken in but the grips are much easier to install and remove too. Sadly It does not fix the issue of the materials itself as silicone was a terrible choice since 1) again it sticks to the gloss dock, 2) it yellows iver time 3) its a fjngerptint magnet and as a result, despite initially feeling like it has more grip than the tpu model, it very quickly becomes slippery (that last one is minoe though since it will be held by the grips anyway) All in all for what it is, it's certainly passable. Not at good as the TPU gripcase on the V2 switch save for the triggers and the fsct tbst the grips can be removed externally now (though they are differentsize and shapefrom the tpu model). Good for the price. Just a shame the v2 version had a better overall product. Ironically there IS a TPU case with the externally removable grips but that's exclusive tk the switch light and they have no plans to bring that model to the v2 or oled Ultimately depends on how you play too. Like in handheld I prefer to use the face buttons in 2d games to avoid breaking the joysticks. The old grips were better suited for that. The new grips are larger and more angled to line your thumbs to the sticks so its more ergonomic, just not what I want personally. Something to keep in mind

Been saying forever the black tpu is much better than than awful silicone
They ALWAYS claim the material is anti yellowing….the material ALWAYS eventually turns yellow. 🤷🏽♂️

I wouldn’t think that would be an issue. There’s cutouts for all the vents and there still seems to be adequate spacing in the dock
