Great videos! I love the pattern on these. I have very little shade in my yard here in Cape Coral. I’m afraid to plant bromeliads because it’s so hot.

The duration of exposure to unfiltered sun can be as much a stressor as intensity, but there are some that will tolerate a full day of SW Florida sun, although they need regular hydration and do better if it isn't all day.

I don’t have one of those. Do you guys have an online site to buy these? Always wondered that? I live in Pensacola Fl

I also wondered if you expose a bromeliad to too much sun and it fades out and loses its color will it return if you move it back to shade over time

Great question! Likely not, since the bleaching is a degradation of the cell walls and that is irreversible.

Hi Rusty. I just received mine Aechmea from Hirts Gardens. It came with a massive pink flower in the center. Do I fill the tank with water when a flower is present? I don’t want to ruin it. Thanks 🙏

Sure, you should continue to water the tank of your brom... the plant will use the water to continue to keep everything hydrated, and make carbohydrate that it will need to produce pups. Thanks so much for watching!
