  • Bromeliad Collecting Corner: Aechmea Tayoensis! Let's take a look at a very different Aechmea species! Aec. tayoensis has a very different architecture than a lot of our familiar bromeliads, and at first glance doesn't look like a bromeliad at all. We'll show all the things you'll need to know about growing Aec. tayoensis. Collecting bromeliads is fun and growing them is so easy, so come on everybody, "Let's get growing and have some fun!" This was one of my early favorites, Doesn't look like an Aechmea at all (until it flowers haha). It looks like a Bromelia scarlatina doppelganger. Also some of the wider-leafed Pitcairnias share the petiolate leaf morphology. What a peculiar brom! Pups very readily too!

I digress, but I would love to see a video on Aechmea fasciata. I find info on youtube to be vague or superficial but I think your input would be enlightening....
