(Space Hulk destabilises) Eldar: The Ork vessel falls. Flee, or we shall join them in their doom (Space Hulk explodes like...that) Eldar: Oh. That was...umm...
The Hulk didn't do much did it? It fired a volley of rockets once in a while, I would have thought it would fire hundreds of big guns?? Or am I totally missing something here?
The Space Hulk posses all weapon types, which orks can offer in this game, but in this fight it uses mostly torps, since my ships were either hidden or out of range.
Too bad Eldar can't do that in the table top. Probably one of the worst races if you just don't try to load up heavy on lances. Orks can be their worst opponent because of their heavy prow armament and armor and lack of lances.
Sephiroth Black-dragon I wonder... If imperial ships didnt have those stupid church towers and giant fucking GLASS windows if their armor would be 90 all around and hp doubled. Seriously, that's some insanely retarded design.
Kalenz I'm glad you also think that the ship design is stupid I'm sure there are people out there who are cringe Fest in love with how they look but compared to other sci-fi those things just look stupid and ugly .... everyone else is ships look completely fine almost. But hey I'm not some massive militaristic religious cult flying in space so I wouldn't needed to make giant Church ships
Combat feels very sluggish and the unit proportions, even for a 40K game, feel ridiculous. It's less of a naval simulator and more like a board piece game in real-time. The mechanics just replay models employed by other games like Star Trek: Armada, Empire at War. Nothing groundbreaking really, but probably a people-pleaser for 40K fans who have tired of Dawn of War.
Well it is based on a tabletop game, just as Dawn of War was. Relic developed their games in their own way, however, working with their preferred system. I feel that this game is more faithful to the source game, not that it makes this game any better or worse than any other. It's just a different interpretation.
It feels like that because it is actually based on the Battle Fleet: Gothic table top game. They've tried to stay faithful to how the game works while presenting it in real time.
Thank you for your opinions. I haven't thought of it that way. But I will stick to watching LPs, since +Cipher said to wait for the new Battlefleet Gothic game - I'll be sure to look into it.
honestly in lore you can shoot a torpedo at a ship 5000km away and there is nothing some ships can do to avoid it 40k ships are no nimble but i guess thats what happens when you build a craft the size of a city
Combat does not feel sluggish and the unit proportions are just fine. And yes it is aimed at 40k fans, can you believe it? A 40k game aimed at 40k fans, amazing...

What is that? XD

What cheap tactics
Jeronimo Vasquez To be honest, that's what Eldar use in WH40K. Hit and Run tactics.
Ain't cheap if it works.
