Thank you! I did cellular and radio work for a long time and it’s funny about the original old style metallic fillings they used to use. Back when AM radio was a lot more used, sometimes the station wouldn’t want to turn down the tower for maintenance. So, some of the old guys who had to climb those towers live would always talk about how under certain conditions, when you’re on the tower you can actually hear the radio station through your fillings!

Thank you so much for this information. I have a very old root canal that needs an implant and my dentist seems to think the root canal is not a problem. I can tell the bone around it is deteriorating. I thought about a bridge (it’s a front tooth) but leaning more towards this implant option, just finding the money is key. Would love to have a full mouth of implants. Grew up in Southeast Iowa. Grew up on sugar. Thank goodness I’ve finally overcome the sugar addiction but the damage is done. Would love to be able to come to you in Iowa !! Thanks again!!

Implant are not even remotely as good as natural teeth even with root canals. Do not let one of these oral butchers pull your tooth and place an implant unless its the only choice left. Once you start pulling teeth and placing implants your oral health rapidly goes down hill.

I have had 3 titanium implants fail. That is both very painful & very expensive. Now I'm looking at zirconium implants after bone grafts.

This was very interesting! I appreciate the attitude the two of you have towards dentistry! Your guest gives me hope for the future of it. I'm in my 40's and on the tail end of the generation where dentists were a luxury or emergency and the Drs usually had the attitude of do what I say and that's it. They didn't listen to patients. I've lost most of my teeth at the gumline and funny enough the one root canal/crown that didn't fail was done by my dad's dentist who did actually listen.
Are there ceramic options for full mouth implants? I know it is incredibly stupid but I'm not having any work done yet until I can finance a full mouth, wether all on 4 or 6. I don't want to settle for dentures and loose jaw bone. So I'm always interested in the newest tech. Thanks!

A full mouth in ceramic is now available. I googled it and saw amazing pictures. I hope you will get the smile you are dreaming of.

Hi Valerie, I am on my 40,s too. Yesterday I received 2 ceramic/zirconium implants. I will have to do 3 more in the coming weeks. My implantologiest advised me to chose ceramic/Zirconia implants instead of titanium, its better in the long run , and also its 100% compatible with our body.
It is more expensive for sure, in Luxembourg I paid 1,400 EUR (Straumann implant),….
I will advise you to go for Zirconia implants only. Also very important, have this procedure done by an IMPLANTOLOGIST and not by the regular dentist. If you want to have a 100% success. This procedure will const you a lot of money, this is why chose the oral surgeon carefully !
      Best of luck to you!

When he says titanium implants and the bone surrounding it may be attacked by the immune system, does that mean an autoimmune reaction?
Is that why it's advised for people who already have an autoimmune disease shouldn't get implants?

No no no, it is criminal to pull a tooth and place an implant as a routine choice. A tooth should always be saved until there is no other choice, you Doctor need to do your homework on the advancements in root canal proceedures. It is criminal you would recommend an implant over saving natural teeth!!! Im dealing with a failed implant that got on active infection that could not be saved. Perimplantis is very real and far worse than a root canal tooth if treated by a qualified periodontist.
