      joe smith Propagandist? There was nothing misleading about the interview. She asked Mr. Spicer for explanations on his "greatest hits" as White House Press secretary. As well as asking his opinion on events that have transpired since his exit.
      Sean Spicer's tendency to fall back on evasion, feigning ignorance or attack the line of questioning, rather than answer the question is telling.

      +Alexander The Great Yeah, it is a real shame that every single media outlet and journalist doesn't suck his cock like Fox and Sean Hannity? I mean, if you aren't kissing Trump's ass every night, you are basically attacking & smearing him, amirite? To criticise Trump over pulling out of the climate change deal, believing a thug like Putin over your own nation, his tariffs which he then gives $12 billion to farmers so he doesn't lose them politically as others suffer, his weakening of key alliances which helped prevent any large wars since 1945 and protected the world from further communism, his disturbing love for authoritarian leaders around the world as he consistently undermines the basic pillars of democracy in America and aboard, his shady & corrupt decades of business dealings, his destruction of the public discourse as he creates evermore division & hatred whereas every other previous president at least TRIED to compromise on issues is just all fake news. Instead they should be all like North Korea where beloved leader Trump can do no wrong & that he is a gift from God.
      Christ almighty, you need to move to a dictatorship or an authoritarian regime like Russia which kills hundreds of critical journalists if you want to live in your nightmarish utopia of the entire media is sucking the cocks of it's nations leader.

      NPR, PBS and ProPublica etc. do that in the US.. Needless to say a parochial Brit like you has never even heard of them. Go back to watching royal weddings and the World Cup and forget how your country's a bankrupt, totalitarian irrelevance...

    • @knockshinnoch1950
      @knockshinnoch1950 6 лет назад

      PAROCHIAL? ROFL! The World Cup is watched by BILLIONS around the world-it's THE biggest sporting event- compare to the parochial NFL & the "world series"- hype or what? Yes We know about PBS- Brits know a lot more about US "culture" and institutions than Americans do about the rest of the world. America is one crazy effed up country- just look at the ridiculous clown president- batshit crazy Trump

    • @onanist9305
      @onanist9305 6 лет назад

      As usual, you miss the point. If you knew about NPR, ProPublica you wouldn't have made your initial comment. That's blindingly obvious.
      As for World Cup, Super Bowl etc., they're distractions. The fact you boast about more idiots watching soccer than the NFL just confirms your petty mindedness.
      Re batshit crazy, clown leaders how about Blair, Cameron and May? Blair's a war criminal, Cameron pissed away your country on a gamble and May can't even leave the EU without fucking it up.
      Now go watch a Royal Wedding video and leave the US, China and Russia to take care of business.

    • @knockshinnoch1950
      @knockshinnoch1950 6 лет назад

      No YOU miss the point- The BBC is a mainstream channel- the biggest in the UK and watched/respected across the world for almost 100 years. NPR ProPublica? Minority/niche organisations. Your mini me Steve Bannon act is a bit tiresome. Do the nurses at your secure mental unit realise you have access to their computer?

    • @onanist9305
      @onanist9305 6 лет назад

      Yeah, PBS with its 350 member stations watched by 200 million people in 80% of US households...I'd call that a niche. I guess that's small change to you in a country of 60 million.
      Not to mention 90 million that listen to NPR - another niche as I'm sure you'd agree.
      Not to mention CNN watched the world over and copied by BBC World Service....
      But hey, your British sense of inferiority is forgivable. The Americans shit on you in two wars and bailed you out in two world wars... I'd be resentful too if I had to live with that history...
      Your turn bitch....

      Once elected, those, "vermin" whose vulnerabilities gullibility, & bigotry you exploited to get into power; can be subject to the same contempt, as the media and political adversaries.
      To begin with, you can feign the illusion of competence and good intention.
      Within 18-24 months you'll be able to revoke the rights of some press, create (for profit) jails for children of asylum seekers & refugees, whilst deporting their parents, with no audit trail or plan to reunite the families. You can tell thousands of lies. Your ignorance of international trade can criple swathes of the economy etc etc etc......
      If you do it, in plain sight, with the backing of state media, you'll be fine.
      As the saying goes "I really don't care, do U?"[sic].
      After appointing key judges, who share your world view...Soon you can demand to be styled as "The Eternal Grand High Tabs ‘, Leader, Lord Master, Pastor, and Paterfamilias of all", whilst declaring: "All the best people are saying, you should be 'President for Life' "!
      I know it sounds crazy; but "believe me". Normalising declarations like "stable genius" and praising dictators makes anything possible......
      ;-)

    This was good. "He meant to say, What I was trying to do and clearly not well, We all make mistakes." These are commonly used phrases by the Trump associates. Doesn't that show, at the very least that these people are inept?

      We also have an amazing -rottweiler- interviewer called *Jeremy Paxman* (who anchored *BBC Newsnight* before Emily). He once asked our *Home Secretary, Michael Howard* the same question 12 times in 90 seconds (14 in total if you count the same Q expressed a different way at first).
      It's on RUclips - and worth 1'47" of your time. Jeremy sadly now has Parkinson's, but was one of our most fearless political interviewers.

    Bravo to this reporter for not allowing a Trump person to talk and shout over her. Spicer's trying the entire Trump/asshole playbook, the gaslighting, the fake strawman arguments, the whataboutisms, and Maitlis is ready.
    Now, this would also happen in the States, but the Trump crew knows this and has ducked nearly every Q&A session with US reporters.

    Emily Maitlis is a great example of active listening. She knows the subject inside out and responds fluidly to what the interviewee says. It’s never a list of questions from her it’s always answer and rebuttal. This should be shown to all journalism students around the world

    I just think this interviewer, although her points are more powerful that his, is selling herself short by putting words in the mouth of the interviewee. It’s a shame the agenda couldn’t be more subtle. BBC being pulled into the game it shouldn’t be playing. I thought we (🇬🇧) were better than this.

    • @sonofsomerset1695
      @sonofsomerset1695 6 лет назад

      we were better than this, like 10 years ago, but where have you been since then to be surprised by the media's virtue signalling bias since then?

    • @GinoWilliams
      @GinoWilliams 6 лет назад

      Even when she wasn't putting words in his mouth and she asked him to address questions specifically from his own viewpoint, he sounded like someone who had signed a nondisclosure agreement before sitting down for the interview. Besides, he had the option of telling her to stop putting words in his mouth. Unfortunately, being kind and accommodating to evil people's egos is how we ended up with case studies like Sean Spicer and the institution of lies in which the American political landscape operates. We on this side of the pond created this mess and should be dressed down accordingly, even if it means cramming the hurtful truths into our jaws.
