Drew Drewski I’m a natural born American but now live in Australia. When I came here 25 years ago, I so ragged on their “quality of democracy” and Pooh-poohed their constitutional demand that every citizen be bound by law to vote.
It was explained to me that democracy is an individual responsibility maintained only by each person voting. And I understood that as theory, but I believed in supposed American good sense and the freedom to choose not to vote.
But, now I get it. Russia may have screwed the US election but what was the turnout? Russia, as the BBC has recently reported extensively, has recently refined how to “tinker” with electorates, in order better undermine elections; they started with this kind of manipulation on Putin’s own elections. Russians, after decades and decades of 100% voting during the Soviet era, might be moved not to want to vote. But they had HUGE turnouts since the 1990s, but after Putin arrived, the turnouts have become smaller and smaller, allowing Putin to win big on small turnouts. That technology has been ‘exported’ to the US.
So we need the largest turnouts possible, better cyber security, and full prosecution -and punishment-of traitors.
I remember when there was #voteordie campaign to get young people to vote. I thought it was dramatic hyperbolic language, now not so much.
The MacMahon family are an Irish-French military bloodline that served the House of Bonaparte as dukes and military leaders which were allied with the Italian House of Savoy against the Austrian Empire. Another Irish MacMahon branch migrated to America creating the wealthy McMahon family that are involved with wrestling entertainment as the owners of WWE. Vince McMahon is worth over a billion and his wife Linda McMahon is worth about a half of billion. They reside in Greenwich, Connecticut which is one of the wealthiest towns in the United States with many stock brokers and investors residing there for its close proximity to New York City. Linda McMahon is the head of the Small Business Administration for Donald Trump's Administration and Donald Trump has associated himself with the WWE several times. Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and her ruthless psychotic husband Paul Michael Levesque also known as the wrestler Triple H are members of this family. The McMahon family and their associates are one of the most murderous groups on the planet and they are involved in a human trafficking operation in Greenwich Connecticut which includes the Greek Glucksburgs and their Charles R. Weber ship-broking company based in Greenwich, the Bush family which have residences in Greenwich, and Skull and Bones paramilitary units right next to Greenwich. The water along the coast line needs to be searched for human remains in this region. The McMahon's oversee and finance human traffickers and mercenaries and in their region.
The McMahon family are extremely wicked and aggressive tyrants. Like most forms of entertainment the WWE is used for recruiting agents into the large scale global crime syndicate often referred to as the Illuminati. Their initiations include the consuming of adrenaline filled human blood from their sacrificed victims. The wrestler Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are initiates of the McMahon cult of human blood drinkers. The WWE is known for being involved in hazing, bullying, and harassment. The wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin is a psychotic blood drinking false accusing murderer and convicted woman beater. Steve Austin is also working with the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas. Dwayne Johnson was a wrestler in the WWE and started out in the wrestling group called the Nation of Domination basing its identity off the Nation of Islam and the Black Panther Party. Dwayne Johnson is extremely sinister and even did an SNL skit about a child molesting robot aimed at making light of pedophilia. Dwayne Johnson is a child murdering pedophile that drinks human blood. Dwayne Johnson even stated that he plans to run for president of the United States. He is dangerous and also involved with the Church of Scientology and using electronic weapons on Americans. Most of the time when actors continue to get big movie roles like Dwayne Johnson does it is because they are making human sacrifices to prove their loyalty. To this day he serves the McMahon family and they serve their French branch which work with the Bonaparte, Savoy, and Hanover royal families. Han in German is short for Johannes the German version of John. The Hanover family manage the Johnson bloodline. The Hanover family were also the Kings of Ireland where the McMahon family originated. Duke Marie Armand Patrice de MacMahon was the son of Patrice de MacMahon and was a French military general in WWI and Knight of the Legion of Honour. The MacMahon family are a military bloodline. Dwayne Johnson is a destructive mad man who wants to take over the world as some kind of despot and this is no exaggeration. Vince McMahon is also an insane tyrant. The royal and noble families use people like them obsessed with vanity, money, power, and glory to do their bidding.
No it isn't. The dilemma primarily is the U.S. electoral system. Once you have the two candidates you will get one of the two, no matter what. In 2016 both candidates have been very unpopular. And setting aside the Russian interference, a lot of people voted for Trump because he, in his madness, was at least authentic whereas Clinton always sounded 100% scripted.

I'm listening this in 2022 and it is even more alarming than in 2018 given what is happening in Ukraine and what trump said about Putin. Rachel, please revisit this to put it all in perspective. Thanks. I trust you.

Three years ago, an American was laughing at me (an Australian) about how we had five prime Ministers in the past few years. My answer to him was, that if we had a dud Prime Minister who didn't perform, he could be got rid off within hours. Ask yourself this. When America wrote the Japanese constitution after WWII, why didn't they model it on the American constitution? Because they knew America's system was flawed. Japan's constitution closely resembles a Westminster System. We don't vote for our Prime Minister, we vote for a local member who form a party, to form a government and to elect their leader. Nobody has supreme power.
you guys are missing his point he is saying your system puts to much control into the hands of one person and it is very hard to remove them, a Westminster style govt it is much easier to handle situations of leadership when they arise.
You are absolutely correct. But in Australia a candidate cannot just come from nowhere and become our leader. Regardless of how much financial backing he has. Our prime Minister is elected by the party, not the people. He is chosen on merit from their own ranks. We do not elect used car salesmen, actors or talkback radio hosts. If he does not perform, then he is replaced. If the people don't want him, he will cost the party votes, and they will remove him to save their own necks.

Just as a side note: Australia only became a country in 1901. Since then it has only had one political crisis in 1975 when our closest ally, America, interfered in our elections and assisted to depose an elected Prime Minister. As in the book, "The Falcon and the Snowman." Interfering in another countries elections is no something new or invented by Putin.
To resolve the crisis we had in 1975 was fast and simple. Parliament was desolved. A caretaker government was installed. An election was called. It took a total of about eight weeks. Our elections do not drag on for a year and a half. The party put up candidates and nominate who will be their leader if they win. We do not have flag waving rallies. Not before, not during and most definitely not after an election. We do not register for any particular party or declare our allegiance. And nobody has the right to ask you who you support. The ballot is secret.

As I see the body language & facial expression of Trump dealing with Putin, he wants to favor that guy in every way. I believe the reason for this is because he owes Putin a lot financially.
