He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

My baby Gentaro is getting bigger and bigger day by day❤❤❤❤ I don’t care he’ll can be 100 years old and Gentaro will always be my baby.. I don’t what anyone thinks or will say he’s was the sweet baby running around with that big old diaper on and he took my heart 💜… I hope one day Gentaro can have a offspring or 2 !! Just thinking out loud again he will be a very loving Silverback and would probably be very protective over them😊😊😊😊

Genki is the best female gorilla doesn’t really like humans butttttt hey if that was me and them hoomans took my first baby from me I’d be the same way😊😊 she showed that to everyone when Kintaro was born she wouldn’t set him down for 1 minutes and that’s why he’s smaller because of her milk bar was only at half full at all times😢😢😢😢. But she’s Mothers of the year for me every year🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
If it weren’t for the keepers though Gentaro wouldn’t have survived
@@Kiwi-gn8tf That doesn’t mean anything Genki could not produce/make milk for Gentaro or Kintaro. The zookeeper’s also gave Kintaro bottles of milk to that’s why Kintaro is very small for being 5 years old. It’s not Genki fault,,,, Just like it’s not my fault I couldn’t have children but it was a lot of fun trying year after year 😊😊😇😇
@@ZombieQueen819 I never said it was genki’s fault. Sometimes mothers can’t produce milk and genki was unable to for Gentaro. So the keepers had to give him milk until he was able to go back to genki. If they hadn’t done this, Gentaro would have died.

Gentaro is just about old enough to want to fight for a female. It would probably be very dangerous to bring one in.
There are no additional females in Japan. There's only 20 gorillas and they are all related other than Gentaro and Annie.
Wonder if Momo gives Gentaro any attention? Does Momo communicate with his elder son, other then scolding him. They both were sitting up on the beams close to each other but look like they don’t acknowledge each other or communicate.
I suppose that they communicate with each other. Actually they used to play much. Additionally, their behaviors in front of the zookeepers are different.

Ces gorilles ne sont pas agressifs. Cependant, leur force est si terrifiante qu'une légère poussée de leur part sur un mode ludique peut facilement vous briser toutes les côtes et plus encore.
