Nice review. I generally buy Dewalt tools because I've had such good luck with them - I've never had one go bad on me. Not so with Bosch, I've had many problems with Bosch tools. Having said that, last year I was looking for something lighter and smaller than my 18V drill and impact. The Bosch were the smallest, and Dewalt didn't have anything that even came close so I bought both the 10.8V Bosch Drill and Impact driver. The first drill I bought had a problem so I returned it for another. Since then, I have been in love with these tools. They are very powerful for being so small, and the battery lasts a surprising long time. I do agree with the two niggles you had in that I wish the handle were slimmer like my 18V tools and the chuck really should be a one-hander. Other than than that no regrets. On a side note, since I already had the batteries, I also bought the 10.8V sawzall as a bare tool. I'm not thrilled with that one, it vibrates too much and perhaps because of the light weight, it has a tendency to push away from the work. *EDIT:* I should also mention that all three tools I have are the brush type - the brushless weren't out yet.
Hi I live in Perth, WA and work in Maintenance, been looking at getting the Bosch 10.8V impact driver, quite sadly I cannot seen to find one any where in Australia, have searched in and out, went on to Tool Marts website online and no luck, I am just looking for bare tool only or skin as I have two spare Bosch 10/8V Li Ion batteries which I can use. Mind if I ask where did you get yours from and are these now available here in Australia. Thanks
(Mike) @shirlone Hey mate I spoke to Bosch and no it's not available as a spare part. So the o my way to get it would be to work your magic with a reseller who may just happen to have a spare one for some reason. Sorry mate. The only other option is to get in touch with Bosch Germany Head Office via email and plead your case. You never know ! Wish I could help more.
(Mike) Any part numbers we give you from Oz would be wrong but You should be able to call your local stockist and there's no reason why they can't order it in for you. Hope you get it sorted 👍🏼
+Humayun Asgar Hussain if you pick up some bits with a 1/4" shank for use in impact drivers then you can. but i wouldn't consider any impact driver a drill replacement.
oh i see. if you can readily get bit with a 1/4" shank like this, then the impact driver would be perfect - www.amazon.com/Brass-Brush-Power-Impact-Driver/dp/B006T7A1UM. If not, then get the 10.8V drill instead,
