That is a sad thought, though...

Starring at the gun, I noticed he has the H shaped metal bracket near the muzzle as opposed to the generic mid war full ring (made the gun lighter at the nose). I was watching forgotten weapons and they did a bit on the KAR recently, I blame BFV. It's worth a watch. Guessing Silo got some of the older and fancier parts. I am curious if it is a plywood body though. If it was walnut that would be amazing. If there was a line made with ssg parts I could be tempted. Dark Walnut finish please.
With your game I think you should add customise your own guns with sights and extra ammo power ups and can change the outfits of your player with silly but cool outfits :)

@@ThatOneNortherner No it is not a German WW2 Combat stalhelm. It is a 1934 German Firefighters Helmet. I of all people would know this 100% because I own a private museum/collection with original German helmets of all types, from WW1, to WW2, and even post war. These firefigher helmets were NOT used in combat, because they are made out of ALUMINIUM and would not even stop a pistol bullet. The shape is a dead giveaway, and so are the vent holes. We in the collecting world like to call these "salt and pepper shaker" vents, because the hole pattern looks like the top of a salt or pepper shaker. I think the reason why Silo uses it, is that it is much lighter than a combat model, such as the M35, M40, or M42, and it is WAYYY cheaper. These usually go for US $50-$100 depending on originality and condition, where as even a blank Combat Stalhelm shell would run Silo about US $250+++ and that doesnt even include a reproduction liner for him. Please do your research and know what you are saying before correcting people. If youd like to check out some real examples of German combat helmets, check out my second channel. I’ve never been airsofting but Silo makes me want to do this. It looks very fun and interesting and can teach me a lot on how to communicate with teammates

Hans Strudel This would get it more abuse then being on a shelf. Most of the time if the rifle is in good condition people still shoot them well as long as it’s not late war. But it’s better for a rifle to kept original not being turned into an airsoft gun

not really, I see hundreds of k98 rifles at gun shows for very cheap, the vietnam m16 made me a little pissed because not as many were made as the k98.
frankly this weapon gets a 10/10 for 1. it jams just like when it jammed in the trenches in ww2, 2. the scope is identical to those in ww2 and 3. for god sake its the kar98k best sniper ever.
Not sure how I feel about a ww2 piece being converted to this, but I'd imagine it was probably this or getting it made into a new spec de-activated rifle (a paperweight)

i still have the real thing that was given to me when i was a kid to go deer hunting with .. its full dressed with all the wood like you see here... most convert them but cutting most of the heavy wood off... i was told that if i could see the deer i could hit it with this rifle .. 175 grain ammo works every time so far ... mine only kills deer and the occasional coyote nowadays ... wish i had the scope tho .. only have the iron sights with the 2000 meter leveler
Kar98k is a common bolt action sniper rifle, but the damage is high because only one shot can get one 1 kill, and this bolt action sniper has high accuracy + legendary m67 throwable weapon + colt 1911 supreme handgun = combo weapon nice game!

oh my God your game is amazing but the one thing that would make it even better is adding Shields that may have 10 or more health that you can upgrade so that you can protect yourself from the juggernaut but what you could also do for the shields is have them on the field where you can grab them use them at any time and oh my gosh silo you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs that does airsoft.
I absolutely understand where you're coming from with your opinion and I can definitely sympathise. But there was always the chance that the gun would instead end up being a collectable and gathering dust somewhere. And also, it's hardly a one of a kind rifle, there are plenty other pieces of history still being used as they were made.

The government is the one that forces people to mutilate these rifles so they are non funtional. I think it was better that the rifle was converted to airsoft.
Silo, I think you should add the kar 98k to your game if that's not added and maybe a camo suite to blend in. Can u maybe add a prone and crouch feature so u can hide from enemy's and a multiplayer mode if there is not a mode already. Even if the Nazi's lost the war and it was a terrible period in general for humanity, you have to admire their bravery and fighting skills. They conquered Europe in months and fought the world almost alone for years. That's impressive. And their uniforms and gear looked so cool

At least Mauser 98s aren’t rare, they built more Karabiners in WWII than Mosins (probably the only thing the Germans out produced the Russians) and they are still building them today I think

Hans Strudel This would get it more abuse then being on a shelf. Most of the time if the rifle is in good condition people still shoot them well as long as it’s not late war. But it’s better for a rifle to kept original not being turned into an airsoft gun

not really, I see hundreds of k98 rifles at gun shows for very cheap, the vietnam m16 made me a little pissed because not as many were made as the k98.
Oktoberfest They are common and cheap but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter to history. It should be kept how it was not turned into an airsoft gun
frankly this weapon gets a 10/10 for 1. it jams just like when it jammed in the trenches in ww2, 2. the scope is identical to those in ww2 and 3. for god sake its the kar98k best sniper ever.

i still have the real thing that was given to me when i was a kid to go deer hunting with .. its full dressed with all the wood like you see here... most convert them but cutting most of the heavy wood off... i was told that if i could see the deer i could hit it with this rifle .. 175 grain ammo works every time so far ... mine only kills deer and the occasional coyote nowadays ... wish i had the scope tho .. only have the iron sights with the 2000 meter leveler

Kar98k is a common bolt action sniper rifle, but the damage is high because only one shot can get one 1 kill, and this bolt action sniper has high accuracy + legendary m67 throwable weapon + colt 1911 supreme handgun = combo weapon nice game!

oh my God your game is amazing but the one thing that would make it even better is adding Shields that may have 10 or more health that you can upgrade so that you can protect yourself from the juggernaut but what you could also do for the shields is have them on the field where you can grab them use them at any time and oh my gosh silo you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs that does airsoft.

I absolutely understand where you're coming from with your opinion and I can definitely sympathise. But there was always the chance that the gun would instead end up being a collectable and gathering dust somewhere. And also, it's hardly a one of a kind rifle, there are plenty other pieces of history still being used as they were made.
I noticed he said it came from England so it was probably already demilled when they converted it to airsoft. I think there's a law about it there. The government is the one that forces people to mutilate these rifles so they are non funtional. I think it was better that the rifle was converted to airsoft.

Silo, I think you should add the kar 98k to your game if that's not added and maybe a camo suite to blend in. Can u maybe add a prone and crouch feature so u can hide from enemy's and a multiplayer mode if there is not a mode already. I have the app downloaded and I love it so much I hope some day I could go airsosfting

CrazyDog the only real thing is a 70 y old wooden stock and the outer barrel, so i dont think it matters much

At least Mauser 98s aren’t rare, they built more Karabiners in WWII than Mosins (probably the only thing the Germans out produced the Russians) and they are still building them today I think
