That job was done very slick. The ocean air its by itself will corrode metal. Salt is so corrosive and the ocean has a lot of it. The little Merc got free veterinary care.
You can coffee filter that oil and use it for diesel. Just mix on a full tank. And you can look that up. As long as it is not gallons of oil it should dilute down. Gear oil has no additives in like motor oil.
You might want to put on a new anode real soon. Even if they look ok on the outside, if you remove it the inner surface can really be eaten away. I ruined my outboard thinking the anode looked ok, but ended up with a corrosion hole through the bottom of the water jacket.
