Really glad you are doing these videoes, not enough people do tours of their projects while teaching and I think that is what inspires people to work on their own project, at least that's what I get out of these videoes and thats why I rewatch them so many times because my projects are always adapting and going back and rewatching a video might give me a new perspective and give me new ideas while my projects develop. Keep doing what you're doing Matthew.
Beautiful fruit!!! We are trying our best to make mangoes happen in the central valley and succeeding in small amounts. We usually get less than 12 inches of rain and our zone is 9a but the winter evenings are fairly robust and require us to shelter plants. My main goal is to start getting seeds to propagate in our climate. Oyster root rocks. Keeps the invasive grass from traveling into our setup
@@WhatsRipening can you do a video on how to prune mangos for max yield. Also is it better to reduce the amount of mangoes for better quality of fruit?
Really love your videos brother! You'll go down in history as one of Florida's pioneering syntropic practioners. Thankfully I understand Portuguese so i've been able to do lots of research with the plethora of Brazilian videos out there, but you do such an amazing job of not only explaining everything but also showing the results. The proof is in the pudding!! Can't wait to see how your projects develop over time :)
Great video man, loving this series! I have a question for you since your the mango guy lol have you heard anything about the productivity of the "Phoenix" mango? I tried the fruit, it was delicious but I am unsure of the production. Thanks for the vids man! 👍
Was doing some research to start a project in Ishigaki Island (Okinawa), and as a beginner, I found this video quite inspiring. I think I'm going to copy that mango/banana (+pineapples) system and keep a little more space between rows to do corn/beens/squash.
@@WhatsRipening I just presented my project to the Ishigaki agricultural bureau, that must approve the project to authorize the land sale... using your video to show the idea. You never know what can come out of what you share on RUclips. This time, it's for the better :)
I think you answered my question later (I need to be patient and watch the whole video before jumping in) , it looks like the same plant with your pineapples. When I had chickens they loved to demolish my ones!
Realy preaty orchard! The coconuts ure growing will be great when they get above the mango. Mango is not a emeregent especie, it need an emergent to shade 20%

This is incredible. Your farm is beautiful. I'd love to buy some mangoes from you next season
Did you start all those pineapples from heads or did you start from seeds? Also are you just using wood chips to create your soil?
Mostly tops, some slips. Yes just composted wood chips

It's just my preference

depending on the grass type.. as long as it doesnt go to seed you should be good on the invasiveness.. but that grass looks like it spreads by roots..
What are the big differences in a food forest vs. agroforest?
Looking lush. Did I see a lot of rhoeo / tradscantia plants in one of those rows? Any reason for them?

Great tips! Can you give some info on the watering?
Rain fed only
How do you keep the mango trees green?I have a problem with yellowing leaves.
feed them some chealated iron
what is your mango fertilization system?
