#RanilOnFirstpost: In an exclusive interview to Firstpost Managing Editor Palki Sharma, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe talked about the docking of Chinese research vessels in Sri Lanka and India's concerns with regards to that. Earlier this year, the Sri Lankan government imposed a moratorium on Chinese research vessels and since then none of those ships have docked in Sri Lanka but it the moratorium will be lifted in January next year, if not revised. Wickremesinghe said that they were waiting for a report to come in and till then everything (with regard to the docking of Chinese research vessels) has been put on hold. "Beijing likes its ships to come to Sri Lanka but we have explained to them that the report has to come in", Wickremesinghe said. Talking about New Delhi's concerns about the Chinese research ships being used as spying vessels, Wickremesinghe said that the ships coming to Sri Lanka are research vessels only and nothing else.
