15:40 :They keep the engine on incase they overshoot the wires and have to go around again to try and land in fact the pilots keep at full throttle after they hit the deck rather than trying to glide in which only allows for one attempt if something goes wrong So they do slow down on approach however keep the engine on to allow for the speed up on touch down, and maintain stability on approach.
The F-14 was designed for the US Navy (pursuant to their request and specifications); whereas, the F-15 was designed for the US Air Force, with both aircraft's development cycles overlapping by many years. With a few exceptions, those two military branches rarely purchase and operate the same aircraft due to differing operating environments and needs. The F-14 made a cameo appearance in the second Top Gun movie because it was the star of the first Top Gun movie and, as such, was arguably more famous than the F-15 in the late 80's. A fun and interesting fact is that the F-14 was equipped with one of the first microprocessors ever developed, but that wasn't known or acknowledge at the time due to the classified nature of its technology.
The most ridiculous thing about the F-14 is, that the F-15 already existed and a better aircraft, that could be fitted with a tail hook, yes, they tested that. And the F-15 is faster and quicker, longer ranged, can carry far more weapons, they coulda made a naval version with the better radar and the aim-54’s. Tail hook, beefed up suspension and just used them as interceptors/ air superiority fighters and woulda been a fraction of the cost and maintenance overall of the F-14.
The numbers don't always line up sometimes skipping several numbers. This guy is also wrong the F-15 had its first flight two years after the F-14 and entered service Two years later than the F-14 also the navy was already invested in the F-14 and its not that simple to integrate those upgrades except the tail hook which it already had. Also all carrier capable aircraft still use tail hooks for carrier landing and many land based planes also have them for emergencies like brake failure on landing so it doesn't run off the runway which has arresting wires at the end. The hardest of those upgrades to put on in terms of physical modifications needed would be the suspension and radar as navy landing gear are very big in comparison to land based fighters and the AWG/9 radar was huge. If arresting gear fails then the crash net comes up.
The f15 can’t fly slow, the f14 can, which is needed when you’re dog fighting and trying to keep pace with a bomber that’s going much slower. The f15 would fly right by and can’t stop to keep engaging. F14 has ability to slow way down and stick with a bomber and just blow it out of the sky
Hiw are you not ashamed of putting such video online ? I watched it 2 days ago man. Who wants a reaction video of Real Engiennering... man get a grup and get a job.

The F-14A is a marvel of late 60's /early 70's engineering!
F14 happens bc someone just wanted to make a swept wing design, and it looks cool

Why would f 15 exist before f 14?

the reason they dont cut the engine is incase they overshoot the arrester cable the pilots can throttle up and not go off and into the water
23:50 The launch creates over 4Gs which is below most aircraft G limits
It's amazing what was achieved in throughout the 20th Century without advanced computers, advanced manufacturing, etc.

@TheKrystiano91 you think i am making money from this? I do this because I like it if any creator has problem i stop reacting to that channel.
