Thanks for the introduction to the Elyte range - I like the look of the hybrids and fairway woods, definitely something for me to look at closer to the start of the season
always the most informative videos from the best fitter around, Simon not sure if you are allowed to say or not is the new Mini driver a gloss or matt crown?
I’m exhausted by this thorough review. The eyes glaze. Will this launch however provide a good opportunity to get a thorough professional full bag fitting from Simon and then buy a set of mint condition Paradym clubs at half the cost of the Elytrs. 😊
@ you are correct. And you are the only ones of four or five I have seen to explain the technology behind the bottom designed to lessen air resistance and lift the rear to lessen turf friction. Well done as always. So take my comment about thoroughness as friendly kidding. And remember I’m the guy on chemo so right now my eyes glaze over at pretty much everything 😂. You ARE the best no doubts about that. Affectionately, John
Surely if they make heads smaller again to about 360cc or similar, then the drag effect will be less than the bigger 400cc etc, will mean more club head speed? It would then mean the face doesn't' need to be as large - thereby making the sweet spot easier to be more across the whole face now than before - equals a much better and faster swinging club head.
This would be the case but you would lose speed and ball flight stability on of centre strikes with the smaller face so it is a compromise to find the best balance of all aspects - aerodynamic, face speed on and off centre and gearing stability on off centre strikes too
Another season, another faster, further, better, more accurate marketing dance. And for £ 700 it can all be yours. Really, trust us. Till next year, the new kid in town comes around.
There are genuinely marginal gains but they are now very marginal indeed so unless your clubs is 3 or 4 generations old you are unlikely to see a noticeable difference unless the flight efficiency (spin profile) of your current club is hindering
Question - If Brands were to go back to making "wood" woods, but hollow them out for weight reasons Keeping the size of todays club face And using today's aerodynamics for a better shape How different would the performance be? Bearing in mind, players in the 70s struck the ball a long way with smalled heads and balls that were less efficient If wood woods were the size of today's driver, weight can still be moved at the point of manufacture, whether it's lower or to the back, etc...as the club is hollowed, put a small base plate on, again can move the weight about How different would the results be? I know this will never happen, I am just curious for your opinion
The modern materials mean the can make faces and frames much lighter AND stronger so the amount of weight being moved around the head as well as the speed the face can achieve versus a comparable shape in wood is quite different. Peak ball speed would be a few mph less but ball speed off centre and respective shot shape stability on those strikes would be heavily affected
Great review by Simon but these look cheap and nasty.Bit like the Epic Flash. The Paradym and Ai Smoke look far more Premium. These Will end up in a package set.Big,in fact Huge mistake from Callaway.
That is an opinion many have voiced, however if the performance stacks up then ultimately that will render it a success as the results will mean it will get played
@@Precision_GolfI’m not so sure.Dont think it has the wow factor that the AI Smoke had.Tests I have seen so far give only a marginal gain as Dave Brailsford would say but I’m not so sure many will buy it.Again Simon giving an amazing review.

Fairways are v good for sure
Been waiting for your review always the most in-depth honest
Thanks Martin!
cant wait to try these. AI smoke was the best driver least year IMO
They should be good, as you say Ai Smoke was a strong head

Thanks Tom. The image I have makes it look more matte
Hit the driver. The title suggested comparing it to the ai smoke. That didn't happen.
Apologies, the title of the video was not representative of the content and this will be addressed in future videos.
It’s more an introduction than a review. To review clubs you have to hit them
You are correct. Will make sure the title is more representative in future

Not quite sure what to reply John - I thought the thoroughness was what people watch us for??

@ very kind John and wishing you all the very best with your treatment

The irons look very nice though, to be fair.
They are a much better looking set of irons than the previous models
