🔴 SEMICONDUCTOR TYPE | Intrinsic Extrinsic p-Type n-Type | video in HINDI

  • Опубликовано: 29 июл 2017
  • In this Physics (Digital Electronics) video lecture in Hindi for class 12 we described different type of semiconductor- intrinsic and extrinsic. Extrinsic semiconductor is of two types p-type and n-type semiconductor. Pure tetravalent substance is known as intrinsic semiconductoe and some impurity is mixed with that pure substance, it becomes extrinsic semiconductor. According to the nature of the impurity, extrinsic semiconductor is subdivided as p type and n type semiconductor. When the impurity is trivalent substance, that becomes p type and when the impurity is pentavalent substance, that becomes n type.
    The process of mixing impurity is known as doping.

    In P-type semiconductor , P stands for positive because it has an extra PROTON due to losing an electron. (Not because of the word opposite of negative)

    • @shaishavsharma5833
      @shaishavsharma5833 3 года назад +17

      P type semiconductors are doped by group 13 elements which are positive. That's why they are known as p type.
      NOTE: Group 13 elements are more +ve than group 14 elements.

    • @angelisvegan5826
      @angelisvegan5826 2 года назад +4

      No..not cuz it has extra proton..cuz that hole is eventually filled by electrons from the neighbouring atoms.. but in doing so ,electrons would leave an electron hole at its original position. And it appears as if the electron hole is moving out m the direction opposite to that of the electron that filled It.. and consequently it appears as though electron holes are positively charged and are movig in towards charged plate (in an electric field).
      Plus the material has been doped by an electron acceptor..so that kinda adds up ..

    • @A_Mukherjee19
      @A_Mukherjee19 2 года назад +2

      Any substance which has a tendency to accept an electron or a negative charge may be regarded as being of positive nature. Definitely, it is due to a lack of an electron as a result of which the pair of atoms, one impure and the other local fails to gain electrical stability. This is the reason for them being Electrophilic. I don't observe an extra proton which might have sprang up due to loss of an electron!!!

      Idiot
      Holes are hypothetical
      They are considered+ve because the electron emerge from them on heating
      There is no proton !!!!!!!!
