PHI landed cleaner punches. THA kept throwing and missing most of it.
The standing 8 count doesn't make a difference in this amateur scoring system. It's the same score as any other landed puches. This is not like the professional scoring where if your score an 8 count or KD, you most probably already won that round with a 10-8 score.

Very close fight and congratulations to the Pinoy boxer. Although I don’t agree with the decision because I think the Thai landed more punches and was more aggressive. I wander how the judges would see it if the fight was held somewhere else in a different country rather than the winner’s country.
More punches but he didnt land a clear shot. Try to watch it again and again. Try to do a score card.

But 5 judges scoring 30-27 at 13:28 is just brutal. I thought at least one woukd give 9-10-10 instead of 10-10-10 for charly. 1st round was solid style for amateur boxing sa Thai e. Dapat may 29-28 man lang.

Suarez is good enough for this fight but not enough for professional bouts.
Charly's already a pro boxer and doing great. Amateur level pace is different from a pro level pace. They fight one day after the other since this is a tournament. The toll on cardio is a lot. Work rate is huge since chances of KO are lower in the amateurs whereas in pro, it's more of timing and working towards a knockdown/knockout. What I'm saying is, it's quite lazy to say that conclusion. Ammys and Pros have a diff style of play.

This Thai boxer has a potential but not experienced enough how to land punches on target, he used a lot of muscles but not smart enough to fight with a proper techniques. I hope he trains more. He is young and right now he is eager just to throw punches and get the gold, he needs to deepen his defensive move. It will be exciting to see him on the ring next SEA game or on a professional ring to witness his improvements.
