Hope you are feeling better Matt. Sad to hear it affected you so bad but it shows you really care. At least you have a heart unlike some psychotic leaders in the word. Be well 🙏
I use it too (studio version) but for videos. Haven't done any time laps. I know there is a anti flicker function in Resolve. Did you try that, is that working well? The studio version´s noice reduction is incredible but very demanding of computer power.
Nice vid packed with info. For a beginner this is too many software to remember. If you can suggest the top 3 you use every time assume all photos are taken with correct setting what are they?
Hi! I just arrived to your channel after hours of research and yours are the best, so i´m sure I can find some anwers in your videos, tutorial, e-book... but need some guidance please, because there is a lot of information. First if all, now I know is better to time lapse from photos than from a video My problem: I have 10 hours of video doing an oilpainting. (Not painting it again) I tried Vegas Pro but this is going bad, too much work and poor results. Where should I start? what do you have for this? I'm hunger for learning. Thnks! Grettings from Mexico.
Tips from Mr.Timelapse himself makes people listen :) You mentioned LRtimelapse in an earlier video and that made me buy it. Fantastic application, i must say! Lightroom - LRtimelapse - Premiere = Quality. Stay healthy, Matthew :)
Hi Matthew. First of all, forgive my English, I'm from Spain. This is intended to be a constructive criticism, not "hater" or something like that. But taking into account that I have been following your channel from the beginning, very and very early, and you have always been a benchmark for me. .. I think your videos are not working lately, and they don't have the interest they used to have. And perhaps that has been noticed by more people, and that is why you are having such "bad" visualization data. For example in this video, there are 7 minutes of which almost 2 are talking about your courses. The rest is just talking in front of the camera and that's it. In the previous "hely hyperlapse", the tutorial really is 3-4 minutes maximum, the rest is about your patreon and courses. And the interesting thing (the tutorial) is so so accelerated, that it is impossible to find out anything (unless you already understand a lot of the subject). That obviating that it is a tutorial that requires an helicopter ... The previous one is for your new course only. And the previous "gear doesnt matter", the tutorial (again the highly accelerated PC part, impossible to follow), lasts half the video, while the other half is advertising Lickd. This is a summary of your last 4 videos. I understand of course that the commercial part is important to you, but I think you are emphasizing it too much in your videos, and the tutorials are not practical at all, due to the short duration / maximum acceleration. I miss fewer tutorials like the holy grail, or hyperlapse, which are your specialty. But explained slower, without speeding up the whole PC process so much. Surely it would have 20 times more views than the last videos on the channel. Anyway, it's just constructive criticism, like I told you. A greeting from Spain!
Hey Sergio, thanks for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate that. I keep my tutorial videos as short and to the point as I can, with a written article on my website so people can explore the techniques/workflow at their own time. Too many tutorials take too long and don't give enough info, at least I try to not do that :) Regarding the sponsored bits and previous videos, I could reply to the reasoning behind them all but I won't bore you with that! I've got a lot more content coming, hopefully things change! Cheers from London
🙋♀️ I started a graduate position at a geothermal power company in Feb (wahoo DREAM graduate engineer job!) and since we're an essential service, they sent us to work from home before NZ went into lockdown. Definitely strange new normal we have, and there's not ~ too much ~ a recently hired graduate engineer can do, but it's been interesting for sure.
In my opinion 'mplayer' and 'mencoder' is all you need. Console-based, but there is nothing faster. Perhaps also some software that does batch operations like 'image magic'
Hi Matthew, Thanks for your free book. The book didn't clearly indicate whether we need to export as JPG file from LR or leave it as Raw after LR adjustment for PS to open.
Thanks Mat. Always informative. I know you use an Apple computer. Is that out of personal preference or is that also preferred when editing/rendering videos ? Would you consider a Windows computer for editing/rendering ?
As I need a laptop for my travel that is powerful yet light I haven't found a windows one that really hits the spot. The zenbook is cool but too big and heavy. The Dell XPS didn't have the specs I was after, maybe the newer generation does tho. I landed on a 64gb MBP with the i9 processor and 2tb SSD fyi!
Thanks for your all the hard work you put into these videos pal! theyre great! I would very much like a stand alone tutorial on AE and how you use it.. but slowly please 😂.. seems strange your views are low, can’t explain that one. Best Dirk
Thanks for this video Matthew.. I use Lightroom, Lrtimelapse Pro 5 and Da Vinci Resolve.. because the app Adobe (for example) Premiere or After Effects are very very expensive...
@@MatthewVandeputte I have the free version of Resolve DaVinci ... but I think I will switch to the licensed version and remove the Premiere subscription .. for Adobe I only keep the photographic subscription. Gunther Wegner is doing tutorials on DaVinci Resolve in his channel youtube
You didn't mention Davinci Resolve. The paid version has a timelapse deflicker option that I have been using. Seem's to work well, but I'm curious as to how it stacks up to all the other software's. Also, what makes exporting in AE better than exporting in any other video editing software? I know it has great stabilization and effects, but is there something I'm missing out on that makes the exporting/rendering better?
I'll try out DaVinci today. There's so many more things you can do with After Effects, it's a really great skill to have for so many other reasons. Effects, advanced editing, time remapping etc
Hi. Can you tell us how to eliminate flickering without LRTimelapse? I can't buy it because it's too expensive here in Mexico. I tried with Premiere Pro but didn't work
Thanks for a nice video! I do videos and mostly photography but haven't got into time laps yet... I get hesitant of all immense amount of data when doing time-lapses. Question; is it possible to take out frames from a 24/25fps time line of (preferable c-log) footage and make time lapses of that? Is it a stupid idea or an opening to work with c-log in time lapses instead of heavy raw files.
Thank you. That's the way I do it for top notch holy grails! RAW to TIFF to ProRes or another high quality video codec leaves you with a minimal amount of image quality loss.
Hey Trace, it's described in my article here: www.matjoez.com/2019/09/09/lumix-s1-timelapse-photography-review/ but I can try and make a tutorial once lockdown is over.
Liked this video for the simple reason that you agree all free software sucks. I used to make decent time lapse videos just with Windows Live Movie Maker and GoPro Studio... but they're no longer supported and I doubt the ones still available for download on 3rd parties can do high resolution photos or even do anything about flickering.
Better up my game on likes and comments, great content as always and the Passive Income book gave me an idea and drive to change up how I want to work with my photography/hobby in the future=)
It's not your content Matt. Great subject I've recently discovered and absorbing all I can. Longtime photographer in the most basic way, looking to make a future hobby turned profession of it and alot to catch up with. Thank you for what you do.

Matthew Vandeputte Thanks for the reply. In India we are undergoing a 21 days complete lockdown which will end on the 14th of April. Sincerely hoping that it is not extended!😊😷
You are probably right, and I should have specified that. I've never used Lightroom CC and I realise now that that is the wrong logo! The Adobe photography plan does give you access to both Classic and CC though.
Matthew Vandeputte No worries! Unfortunately I have the Lightroom 1TB plan, which only includes LR (Non classic). Have you tried "TLDF" at all? It's not free, but at $30 very close to it. It's available on the windows and Mac app stores
I'm writing a review about that app as we speak! Ah good to know, I will update my blog to reflect that as I thought all photo plans came with both apps. Thanks!
Matthew Vandeputte oh sweet haha, looking forward to that. I see the developer stated a v3 with major upgrades, however that was 2 years ago and still no update...
