    It really depends on the city you are living in. How population is scattered in the city. If you are living in densely populated area this kind of medical problem is common now a days as the medical staff and facilities are limited. We moved to a smaller city in British Columbia not very far from Vancouver though. During my pregnancy we got really good medical service . And the hospital staff was also amazing. We have to go couple of times into emergency and the wait time was not worse (it was around 1-2 hours of wait). This could be different for other people but we were really happy with the medical system here in our city.

      I agree with this. My baby was also delivered last week of December 2022. And our experience with North York general hospital, Toronto, Gynaecologist was awesome. We were new immigrants who just landed in October but we were literally wowed by health care here in Canada. Initially I faced an issue finding a Gynaecologist because we were new and late for December. It was nice Vlog. Aarav is cute.

    We got pregnant twice the only money we spent was on Uber while travelling for checkup and delivery, PregVit Multivitamins and some 33 Dollar Hospital Bill that's it. We delivered our first baby at Michael Garron Hospital and 2nd at Grand River Hospital. Super smooth and simple process. In India all they do is C-Section so they can make more money, even if Normal delivery is possible.

    India is known for over testing and over prescribing of medicines. It’s a known fact that when you’re pregnant you should avoid any sorts of medications and supplements other than vitamins. Indian hospitals are driven by revenue and hence the option to do the multiple tests before, during and after pregnancy or even the high percentage of c-sections. however in the number of ultrasounds that are done in canada are standard protocol worldwide and only if there are any concerns there are more tests done. This isn’t a gap.

    I got the best care during my whole pregnancy, nurses from the hospital were so nice and compassionate, during my 3 days stay they make me feel at home. Right from changing diapers for my baby and feeding her all w as taken care of do I can have proper rest, in the end I guess it depends how busy is the labor ward and who you get as a doctor.

    I always had my bp & baby’s heartbeat with abdominal measurements checked at every appointment with the Gynae at Mississuaga. If my BP came a lil off the charts, they made sure to rule out anything with additional tests and even performed urine analysis just to check if I didnt have protein in my urine or any other issue.
    I had gestational diabetes and the amount of care I got from my Endocrinologist & the gynae was commendable. I was given special care due to this with additional scans and NST’s. So it is not generally the case with every hospital & doctor in Canada.

    But my NT Scan was covered my OHIP. I can’t believe how happy I am that chose North York General Hospital. The experience is totally different for me there. Firstly my Family Doctor is my OB-GYN as well. And she is the sweetest doctor I have even seen (including my experience in Doc in India). If I even had issues, she even arranged same say Ultra Sound in the NYGH itself and discussed the reports with me in 2 hours.

    Hello from Singapore, good info about Canada Hospital Experience In Pregnancy. Healthcare is screwed all over the world. Singapore has a top class healthcare services for sure. If you think about cost wise, comprehensive health insurance coverages should be the priority which is lacking in Indian mindset. Wanted to highlight one thing which is not correct, that you only get doctor after 20 weeks of pregnancy, that is not entirely true. It is different from doctor to doctor and clinic to clinic.
    There are 3 options usually:
    1. Your family doctor is qualified to provide prenatal care, then you can choose to stay with them for 20 weeks and get OBGYN later
    2. You can start finding doctor from the beginning and pick the one you like and talk to them about their policy. Most of the doctor accept patients starting 12 weeks.
    3. You can opt for a midwife (low risk pregnancy) and they usually start seeing you around 9-10 weeks.
    Also another thing that you mentioned is doctors don’t ask you to take supplements, which is good, they only recommend if it’s necessary, unlike India where they try to make parents feel like you need to so much extra. If you don’t have a deficiency, there is absolutely no reason to take anything other than prenatal vitamins.
    Another reason is not everyone wants to eat unnecessary things, so they only go with what is absolutely necessary, instead of making parents feel like they need to spend on extra things.
    I have delivered 2 babies with midwife in Canada, but I was with family doctor for 12 weeks. 1st time my iron was low, so he prescribed it for me, 2nd time he did not. So don’t assume that you need supplements, unless your test results and doctor tell you so.

    • @amyseaden9069
      @amyseaden9069 Год назад

      Whether you see an ob/gyn earlier is also based on whether you are a high risk pregnancy. For the majority of pregnancies there isn’t much to monitor until after the second trimester in a normal pregnancy.
