Pre nerf BC 58, T92 and G.W E100 where a real danger upclose. (that being 100-200m for a arty.) T92 would be so much fun if there was a TD mode and at least close to FV4005 levels of gun accuracy at close range. Instead of now where arty players do not even try and care about anything but long range targets. Even if there is a tank right next to them...

Usually tanks are camouflaged and it is not clear where to shoot artillery, and when they are discovered, they begin to move, changing their trajectory and become a difficult target. Modern warfare is not about artillery but drones and missiles. We are playing a utopia turned inside out by WG! - nothing to do with tanks :(

I have broken my right hand in a cycling accident and could only play arty the last two months. There are many ways you can equip arty. I used to do better in terms of World of Tanks Rating and Win8 when not playing arty and my winrate was higher but with enough equipment and the proper tweaks you can still make a contribution to your team with arty. The possibility of defending the weakest flank whenever you like or to help your team make a breakthrough when the possibility presents itself is really amazing. You feel like you are formulating the strategy in random battles. If the team is halfway decent, you can make a fair contribution in an SPG.
The term you're looking for is "diminishing returns". It could work by every bonus that you stack you would only get a percentage of the available bonus. So you'd start with something that gives a 10% boast. If another thing boasts the same mechanic then you only get 75% of the 2nd bonus. If a third thing stacked the same bonus then you'd only get 50% of that 3rd bonus.
It already exists in the game, the garage panel just lies to you. For example if you stack 2 bonuses of 20% they will multiply each other 0.8 x 0.8 = 0.64 so instead of 40% you actually get 36%

I’ve been using this build for some time now. It still doesn’t change the pathetic amount of damage you usually do or help with maps that are nearly all mountains or towns. Ignoring the hypothetical dpm, arty must have the lowest dpm in the game.
I am stuck on mission 15 for the T-55 for over 2 months even though I play arty all the time because I have broken my right hand and it is in a cast. Completing that mission with honours seems impossible, damage plus assist plus win, it is so frustrating.
Yes QB you missed the point: This is just one of many ways WG pushes players to spend more time playing to get better equipment earn more credits and play more games to earn WG more money. It's economics baby.

If I'm not mistaken the reduced dispersion on the IRM is to counter the faster turret traverse speed. 10% faster turret traverse means 10% increased dispersion based on the bloom formula that I saw once (you can prove it by turning the turret, the faster the more bloom). Also from wargaming wiki "Battle mechanics : Turret Rotation: Rotating the turret results in a temporary accuracy penalty. *The exact amount depends on the installed gun and the speed of your turret's rotation.* The effect is reduced if the Gunner has the Snap Shot skill. " However you do get the Movement dispersion buff (reduction) because you are not moving faster forwards as well as the reduced after firing dispersion. They should make it more clear.
This. "Darkninja" has made a video about rotation device 2 months ago and AFAIK it does just that: it makes rotating faster but faster speed makes bloom bigger, so the minus factor just counters that. Anyway, the slow turret rotation is kind of a thing also.

meh... this arty has very low damage. 150 per shot is most common. it always had good aiming when you don't turn the hull. the equipment isn't a "huge" or "broken" improvement. it still sucks with or without equipment. its only real strength is speed to line up shots or run away from lights. the damage is so low it makes the gun practically useless. stun assist is pretty much useless in randoms. "great stun it won us the game", said nobody ever...
Consider using the skill Concentration on the larger artillery like the T92. It’ll help with its wild aim time and help you be a bit more flexible for your team.

I have the same equipment on my bc155 58. Just a little advise from me: This is a very fast arty, you can easily drive near the frontline, fire your clip away and relocate. I shot AP on short distance. Its ridiculous (AP is a personal thing...).
well, that's always been my build since I got the bc58, except I use only standard equipment and w/o premium consumables. Back then, 1 hit from bc58 can do 600+ damage and can't stun. 1 full magazine was 4 shells and can kill a single HT in one breath if lucky.
Sometimes I don't understand about artillery players They k*ll themselves while drowning or splash themselves with HE when the team is losing But when I team kill artillery they report me for drowning them in a river like what's the difference ?

QB - could you please test HE dmg reduction with spall-liner in survivability slot(60%), field mods(additional noise insulation - 15%) and new perks(reliable placement for driver: 10%)? In theory you can reach 85% HE dmg reduction on assault h.tanks. I wonder how well it works with current HE mechanics against arty and threats like BZ-176, or FV4005 2.

I am driving the exact same setup, changed to mobility system from a turbo and it changed everything. 90% gunmark, its op (I still play other tanks dw)
Equipment breaks this game. It's ridiculous and I hate it. WG balances tanks without these in mind and you can mitigate a lot of weaknesses that are balancing factors for tanks. It honestly breaks this game beyond repair. I wish they were just removed from the game. They need to be massively nerfed or have a trade off mechanism added. You get a boost to speed, but your engine is more prone to being damaged. You get better dispersion, but you are slower moving.

What would be the point in getting the equipment? You can say the same about euiping tanks with better modules or training your crews. There would be no incentive. It is the same in all computers games.
Bond rotation doesn't exist at all nor does good fuel for the BC 155/58. I'm guessing WG got rid of them because it would make the BC too OP. I run Bounty Rotation, Bounty GLD, T3 Mobility, Snap Directive, and Coffee. Works very well.
Bonus note: personally, I think they should've just rounded off the damage of arty by a 15-25% damage nerf with the inverse to reload based on the old damage stats. Stun is just too annoying (from what I've always heard), and they used to always be the number 1 rng class to prevent camping. But most idiots just targeted certain players every single match, and that's how we got to where we are now
Yes, Dispersion bonusses stack. But they are calculated multiplicative rather than additive. Which means the bonus u get is less than u expect. So in a sense, there is already what Will is asking for: a soft cap.

I don't mind these builds to do the campaign missions. Some are just so dependent on luck, that you need to complete the other requirements on every battle until that lucky battle comes.
This is how i do the hit 7 enemys in one game daily mission. On the matter of pay to win. The premium account allows you to play premium tanks with full pay to win setup and make way more credits, not 50% more like 200% more. Because some games you would loose credits and premium account will those losses to gains. The bigest advantage money buys is the premium account, because it turns every tank 30% or 40% better.

this is what i use one my tier 7 SPG from the collectibiles russian section of the shop. and i use the lower gun the one with a big over 20 seconds reload but less dmg. plays good enough :)
I just wish they had left arty alone. The Whiners got their Karma back. Sure, sometimes you got destroyed but more often then not they totally missed you and it took them thirty five seconds to try again. Only the worst players got hit by arty because they never moved a inch.

The french arty is the only one kinde balanced : low arc of fire so ez to hide from her, and low dmg mer shot do you take 2-300 and know that you have 10s to hide. Also it's the only one fun to play. That's my setup so i agree qb.
Thanks for showcasing some arty QB. I enjoy all classes of tanks, but as afternoon turns to evening my ping becomes terrible, which is when I turn to arty, as it's more foregiving. A lot of arty hate stems from ingnorance, so play some arty and you'll know better how to counter it. Arty makes the game much more interesting and adds another dimension. Happy clicking!
Accuracy is determined by the game software which is in fact the real determining factor when it comes to what can really be achieved with artillery. When 80% of the target area is occupied by a stationary tank and you miss it 80% of the time it is obvious that this is not just bad luck but something else entirely... and conversely I proved this by managing to hit a dead tank 9 times out of 10 when I can only hit a healthy tank about 30% of the time!!!

Been using this build since Experimental equipment came out. How are you just now using Exp. Equipment? Its better than the boring (vents rammer turbo) on every tank.
I tend to decrease aim circle size and aiming time, also increase mobility of SPGs and turret traverse speed, even if it all comes at a cost of a bit longer reload. P.S. No premium consumables, as I'm F2P only guy, also no coffee and no directives. So, just looked up what I got on my B-C 155 58: - bounty rotation mechanism (upgraded); - mobility improvement system T3; - wear-resistant gun laying drive (upgraded); Field mods: - engine tweaking; - hunter C suite:; - hydraulics tuning (setup 2); - aiming mechanism tuning; - weight reduction. And yes, gunner has "snap shot" perk, currently "deadeye" (increased damage to modules) is in progress. So... My intent was to create a monster to my taste - able to drive really fast all around the map and one able to switch targets and aim fast, just... to be a general annoyance to opponents. 😆 Honestly, this was a bit painful to watch, how passively QB plays this beautiful arty not using it's mobility in a least, but that explains his belief, that "Stark's medal" is a rare one on arties. IT IS NOT if one plays them aggressively! It also feels like either arties got unintended boost lately, or more harder hitting ones got an upper hand over French tier X, which can fire fast, but hits quite weak; thing is, on 155 58 I got a lot of games and experience, but only 48% winrate, while on Soviet tier X and American tier IX (the only other (near) top arties I got) winrate is at 54%, despite them not being fully upgraded - no field mods and crews not a well trained as French one. Anyway, this seldom is a "revealing video" to anyone, who plays arties a lot, but QB needed a theme for the video and a supposedly loud title, fine!

the only downside of this build is you will NEVER EVER make credits playing it. You will always be dumping credits.

This arty is the best. Its good for getting angles on targets.
More often than not i perform better than the other arties on my team in this thing.

QB - could you please test HE dmg reduction with spall-liner in survivability slot(60%), field mods(additional noise insulation - 15%) and new perks(reliable placement for driver: 10%)? In theory you can reach 85% HE dmg reduction on assault h.tanks. I wonder how well it works with current HE mechanics against arty and threats like BZ-176, or FV4005 2.

i also play the bc quite a bit, its perfect for digging out hull down tanks because the AP has 300mm pen

Tip: Do not use bonds rotation mechanism but instead an upgraded captured one for 15% instead of 13,5% bonus ;-)
It also helps you to fully aim before they disappear from vision

This setup will only work on the French SPG line since they are the only ones with a rotating turret.
The US 53/55 has a turret that partially rotates.

arty should get a rework and add new tech tree lines, make a new aiming mechanic for them so it would take more skill but with higher reward

I put the same load out on the Foch 155, helped a bit.
Equipment breaks this game. It's ridiculous and I hate it. WG balances tanks without these in mind and you can mitigate a lot of weaknesses that are balancing factors for tanks. It honestly breaks this game beyond repair. I wish they were just removed from the game. They need to be massively nerfed or have a trade off mechanism added. You get a boost to speed, but your engine is more prone to being damaged. You get better dispersion, but you are slower moving.

What would be the point in getting the equipment? You can say the same about euiping tanks with better modules or training your crews. There would be no incentive. It is the same in all computers games.

Bond rotation doesn't exist at all nor does good fuel for the BC 155/58. I'm guessing WG got rid of them because it would make the BC too OP.
I run Bounty Rotation, Bounty GLD, T3 Mobility, Snap Directive, and Coffee. Works very well.
It's like a tier 10 auto loading FV304 (in terms of accuracy and average damage). FV304 had 0.43 accuracy with 100 avg damage on non pen hits
Bonus note: personally, I think they should've just rounded off the damage of arty by a 15-25% damage nerf with the inverse to reload based on the old damage stats. Stun is just too annoying (from what I've always heard), and they used to always be the number 1 rng class to prevent camping. But most idiots just targeted certain players every single match, and that's how we got to where we are now
I already had this build on my BC tier 10, but went one better with a bond GLD. I play that Arty quite frequently.

Yes, Dispersion bonusses stack. But they are calculated multiplicative rather than additive.
Which means the bonus u get is less than u expect.
So in a sense, there is already what Will is asking for: a soft cap.
I use that equipment on my T30, makes it move and aim quick for quick shots, works great for me.

I don't mind these builds to do the campaign missions. Some are just so dependent on luck, that you need to complete the other requirements on every battle until that lucky battle comes.

This is how i do the hit 7 enemys in one game daily mission.
On the matter of pay to win. The premium account allows you to play premium tanks with full pay to win setup and make way more credits, not 50% more like 200% more. Because some games you would loose credits and premium account will those losses to gains. The bigest advantage money buys is the premium account, because it turns every tank 30% or 40% better.

this is what i use one my tier 7 SPG from the collectibiles russian section of the shop. and i use the lower gun the one with a big over 20 seconds reload but less dmg. plays good enough :)

I just wish they had left arty alone. The Whiners got their Karma back. Sure, sometimes you got destroyed but more often then not they totally missed you and it took them thirty five seconds to try again. Only the worst players got hit by arty because they never moved a inch.

Everyone saying delete artillery. You just can’t handle getting killed by them, it takes skill to use them whether you like it or not. So go take you complaining somewhere else

SPGs can Snap shot like other tanks.. I forget.. There is a time limit on snap aiming..? One bloom shrink fire.. Auto lock close combat same..
The french arty is the only one kinde balanced : low arc of fire so ez to hide from her, and low dmg mer shot do you take 2-300 and know that you have 10s to hide. Also it's the only one fun to play.
That's my setup so i agree qb.
Diminishing returns is what they do in EVE. Works well.

hate stems from ingnorance, so play some arty and you'll know better how to counter it. Arty makes the game much more interesting and adds another dimension. Happy clicking!

The US arty game was a really good one!
Accuracy is determined by the game software which is in fact the real determining factor when it comes to what can really be achieved with artillery. When 80% of the target area is occupied by a stationary tank and you miss it 80% of the time it is obvious that this is not just bad luck but something else entirely... and conversely I proved this by managing to hit a dead tank 9 times out of 10 when I can only hit a healthy tank about 30% of the time!!!

bought premium consumables, rounds, equipment when they are on sale so its 2 for 1 deal.
Been using this build since Experimental equipment came out. How are you just now using Exp. Equipment? Its better than the boring (vents rammer turbo) on every tank.

i wonder when will they add the premium arty ?
I tend to decrease aim circle size and aiming time, also increase mobility of SPGs and turret traverse speed, even if it all comes at a cost of a bit longer reload.
P.S. No premium consumables, as I'm F2P only guy, also no coffee and no directives.
So, just looked up what I got on my B-C 155 58:
- bounty rotation mechanism (upgraded);
- mobility improvement system T3;
- wear-resistant gun laying drive (upgraded);
Field mods:
- engine tweaking;
- hunter C suite:;
- hydraulics tuning (setup 2);
- aiming mechanism tuning;
- weight reduction.
And yes, gunner has "snap shot" perk, currently "deadeye" (increased damage to modules) is in progress.
So... My intent was to create a monster to my taste - able to drive really fast all around the map and one able to switch targets and aim fast, just... to be a general annoyance to opponents.
😆 Honestly, this was a bit painful to watch, how passively QB plays this beautiful arty not using it's mobility in a least, but that explains his belief, that "Stark's medal" is a rare one on arties. IT IS NOT if one plays them aggressively!
It also feels like either arties got unintended boost lately, or more harder hitting ones got an upper hand over French tier X, which can fire fast, but hits quite weak; thing is, on 155 58 I got a lot of games and experience, but only 48% winrate, while on Soviet tier X and American tier IX (the only other (near) top arties I got) winrate is at 54%, despite them not being fully upgraded - no field mods and crews not a well trained as French one.
Anyway, this seldom is a "revealing video" to anyone, who plays arties a lot, but QB needed a theme for the video and a supposedly loud title, fine!
