    Jack and Ginger were like brothers who fought each other. Eric is the cousin in the middle trying to keep it civil. Thank you Lord for Cream and the music they left for generations to enjoy.

    As a poor 12 year old kid who bought a destroyed and crusty Cream greatest hits CD at the pawn shop for 4 bucks with my lunch money for the week, I never knew these 3 bastards would be burnt into my soul forever.

      I was in the car with my uncle. He had a boxset of 2 cds called "complete clapton". It consisted of the greatest hits from eric clapton and bands he was in. I listened to it because i heard that eric clapton was good, but i didnt know his stuff. The best songs on the cd were by cream.

    The drums and bass are the rhythm section of a band, can see why Cream didn't last.

      That makes zero sense. You have no idea what you're talking about. It boggles the mind that anyone could jump to such a ridiculous false conclusion.
      They were as good as it gets, and they played exceptionally well together, better than anyone. Talent transcends everything else. Everyone hoped they would outlast the Stones, bc they blew virtually every other band off the map. And the music? 'Sunshine' and 'White Room' were the most innovative things anyone had ever heard, followed by many more over their career. Far and away Clapton's best work was here, in this band, which is saying a lot when you see how prolific he's been ever since.
      That they didn't get along is why it didn't last. It had absolutely nothing to do with the music or their ability, which was unparalleled. If Jack and Ginger could have gotten along, this would have been by far the best band ever, which for a time, they were. They would have left everyone in the dust.

    • @stevehughes1510
      @stevehughes1510 Год назад

      @@tomlewis4748 What I wrote is as plain as the nose on your face, it's not that hard boys, Ginger = drums and Jack = bass, they didn't get on = Cream didn't last. Jeez you guys.

    • @tomlewis4748
      @tomlewis4748 Год назад +2

      @@stevehughes1510 No, it absolutely is not clear at all what you wrote. What is crystal clear is that you just don't get it.
      At the risk of feeling that I need to repeat myself, that they did not get along is the single and only reason the band did not stay together. It had nothing at all to do with their ability to assume the proper and expected roles (play together professionally and quite well) in possibly the best 3-piece band that ever existed. Their music and their individual abilities meshed perfectly, and their inability to get along as collaborators had zero to do with that, and their ability to play together professionally despite their inability to get along completely transcends what that actual reason for breaking up was.
      Put another way, there is no possible way to define the cracks in their relationship by listening to the music. There is no empirical evidence of that. There is no 'there' there. There are no clues, bc they were professional enough to not let their relationship affect the quality of what they accomplished. Assuming that is the case with absolutely not even a shred of a clue is the functional equivalent of imagining images in the clouds that convince you that God is some man with a beard up there smiling down at you.
      Pros of this caliber will still find the ability to prevail musically, which is exactly what these pros did. They were that good, good enough musically to have been the top band in the world for a long career, completely despite their inability to get along as bandmates, which is the only reason that they didn't have that career for long.
      Sadly, regardless that the music was flawless, that was not enough to keep them together beyond that short time. But art does not exist in a vacuum, regardless how perfect it might be. There are always forces external to the art itself that can end a collaborative artistic relationship, and this is nothing more than proof of that.
