    On the long high speed test, Tiff has an advantage having competed in the 24 hours of Le Mans some 14 times, where human endurance is as important as vehicle endurance.

    Tiff was a classic example of someone who drives to a very high standard doesn't drop very much after a few drinks. The worry is when sober people struggle to drive normally, after a few drinks they don't stand a chance.

    Thank you gentlemen for the study :)
    Both being so tired that one shuts one's eyes and douses off and driving drunk has the tendency to make reaction times longer - as such, in my opinion both are dangerous.
    If one needs to take a trip but is after a long day, a few coffees (or teas), frequent stops to get fresh air, or stopping somewhere safely and taking power naps is advised.
    In Hungary we have zero tolerance,so do I concur; have a beer or a glass of wine, or drinks you fancy .. just for the love of us all; don't sit behind the wheel. Your judgemental abilities may become impaired as well as your reactions, noone wants to end up in the ditch in a wreck.

    Driving tired. I used to have Few drinks after I finished my bar shift at 3 am at the end of a week doing construction full time. I've never fallen asleep or crashed after I had two beers and headed home. I have totaled two Cars and nearly died in my last accident after I drifted into sleep on the highway doing 70mph in my 01 f-250 utility body truck. I hit the median and rolled the truck over a few times. My ladder rack and my guardian angel is why I'm able to write this message

    Having done both, I'd say tired. When I was young I was in a band and had to drive after a gig. I was shattered and started seeing things on the motorway. People running etc. Then I've driven drunk as a teen and could get from a-b, but not well. I don't drink at all now. I'm 60 and it's not worth it. Plus if you're tired. Stop and have an hour's sleep. It's better than crashing.

    It’s interesting to note that the type of mistakes made were very different between tired and drunk drivers. (smaller more predictable mistakes for tired individuals, potentially more dangerous errors but less predictable when intoxicated). I wonder perhaps if that’s backed up by other research.

    It's best not to have a nap in your normal seating position/driver's seat as your body will become accustomed to that position which could be dangerous for when you continue driving. Change your seating position if taking a nap such as reclining the seat or sitting in the back.

  • @destructionnl8165
    @destructionnl8165 2 года назад +2

    It would be interesting to be able to do a test like this myself. I admit i have driven after drinking (not drunken, obviously, but 6 beers is well over the limit). It was bad judgement to do so, i'm not proud of it and will damn sure never do it again. While driving i felt fine, but i was very aware i was over the limit and my reaction time might be compromised, i drove much more carefull than i would've done when sober.
    Here in the Netherlands you can have 2 glasses of beer (about one bottle of beer) and drive, that's the limit. The other side of what i've just written here, is that i once parked my car and walked home after i drunk 1 beer (so was well within the legal limits) but behind the wheel i didn't feel i was fully able to drive. And if you don't think you're fully able to drive, you really shouldn't.

  • @Prakicov
    @Prakicov 5 лет назад +2

    Also, just to make a point, there are multiple levels of intoxication and tiredness. One glass over the limit or five ? Tired from hard manual labor or little to no sleep three nights in a row ? From mu experience about driving under alc. influence, the very best thing that one can do is to be honest to himself ( "I`m boozed but i have to hold my horses "). On the other hand tiredness is taken very liberally ("Eeeh is just yawn")

    I drove extremely tired once in July. I was in 3 different concerts 3 days in a row as a volunteer, and the 3rd day I spent the whole night cleaning the place up. I wasn't alone in my car, so others would see me falling asleep.
    It also happened to me to be driving drunk, and the deal is that when I get drunk at night, this will make me feel more tired than what I really am. Of course, in my country if you're caught driving tired, it is much worse than getting caught driving drunk. If you're driving drunk, then your penalty depends on how much above the alcohol limit you are. However, if you're caught driving tired, then you're likely to face a €3000 fine, or 2 years in jail, or both jail time and fine

      No no . But you feel strange i guess was like feeling that things were a little more distant even though they weren't apart from that nothing else. Thanks for asking though 😊 I would like to make an appeal here to everyone that uses the cloth masks . Try and make the cloth mask more oval conical and use some sort of flexible plastic or iron on the nose piece . It will avoid to leak air from the sides of the cheek and sides of the nose . No one is doing that and as far as I can see I'm the only one that made something about this . It is very easy and cheap to do it .

    • @airwolfcentral169
      @airwolfcentral169 4 года назад

      Aquele Do Honda masks are useless because cloth isn’t a filter that will filter out virus particles or anything like that. And droplets can go through them as well so a waste of time

    I know how driving tired really is! I drove in that condition twice, and it is very dangerous. Keeping eyes open is very hard, and it takes will to keep them open and not let yourself close them juust for a second, as your brain tells you. I closed them for a second, and the next time I opened them, I was 2 lines away from my line and almost completelly stopped. Thankfully it was at night at wide highway. So, from my experience, you are not controlling your surroudings for quite long periods of time from time to time, when you are sleepy. And you also feel angry over every insignificant thing.

  • @edenbreckhouse

    For people who are good at driving its very dangerous. Alcohol can help you relax initially and the urge to push the car especially when you're in a sports car is very hard to resist. Just one straightaway or a corner is usually where they get overconfident. Seen it all with race car drivers after a couple drinks.

      @ if you talk about illegal, definitely its drunk driving, but i very well know how you feel when you are driving continously for many hours without sleep, I know very well when you are going to fell asleep on steering wheel because I have tested myself to the limits. Untill when your mind fell asleep while driving, not intensionally but now I know my limits and am fully aware of my driving capabilities. So by experience i am saying this.
