+Marks Shrimp Tanks thanks for the tips :) I looked into that however I have snails in my tank and don't want to risk killing them, plus ammonia spikes :o
garlic does the trick, but it takes a good few weeks. soak small pellets in fresh garlic over night for the first small feeding of the day, so they all eat some. life worms will disappear almost immediately. (cut open a clove, scrape the insides into a mush, put the pellets in, wrap and leave it in the fridge. they last for 2-3 days) i got this tip from somebody who routinely feeds his plecos garlic to keep them worm free. PS: they are not symbiotic! all the shrimp gains is having the bloody things stuck to it's face.
my hole shrimp aquarium is effected even the babies. I am very much tensed about. give some useful way out to get rid of it bro. i have hundreds of shrimp. help me
I think my shrimp has one from new fish i just got from my local pet store. At first i thought it was a a worm it had but now i think its one of these. Connected right on the tip of its snout . Its a amano shrimp. Can i remove it off him ?
@@SimplyShrimps Me as well actually its was large enough larger than in the photos it was in the perfect spot to get it off too which was alot easier. I wouldnt recommend someone to do this though they could potentially hurt the shrimp.
Great video. Also please talk more about you're snails and snail care. I noticed one at the end of the video and would like to know what you have observed about the shrimp and snail dynamic. Especially after looking at those two "touch base" at the end of the video. 🤣
Hey guys/girls I need some help, my shrimp only have 1 worm like parasite that’s a little longer than these but in the same spot. Is it still the same thing? Please help. Been dosing 10gal with Paraguard
Hello! You wrote that it's possible to get rid of parasites on video by using salt baths. What is the right way to do them? What is salt to water ratio? What kind of salt must be used: ordinary or sea?
Super cool video.. I just started keeping cherry shrimp (& some snails) & nearly had a fit today when I saw these on them, but at least I know what they are now.
Hey, I've been trying to find videos about shrimp worms and I'm still so lost. I have one new shrimp who has something similar but I don't think it's this parasite. He has a single, long white worm that can retract but grow about maybe 1/2 inch out of his head. I've quarantined him and been trying to find the right treatment but there seems to be nothing on this type of worm. Do you have any ideas?
Yes, I use the Sera Tremazol (in the Netherlands). The active ingredient is praziquantel. Makes live easier as you can treat the entire tank instead of a saltdip. Saltdip works aswell, but it is such a pain to catch every shrimp. It does not kill the eggs, so I am treating again in a couple of days and make sure to remove the molts.
Noticed this on one of my shrimp yesterday. Saw a video about in in my feed at COMPLETE random, didn’t search a thing about it. Ordered paragaurd Come home today and the sucker doesn’t have it on his head anymore!!! Still treating the heck out of this tank
Haha no way!! I just watched your video, some great pointers. I can't believe we uploaded them at pretty much the same time! Great minds think alike ;) Subbed to you =D
Just found two of my shrimp with these things on them. Thanks for the salt dip advice it worked very well.
Great video ,dewormers like NoPlanaria and safegard ect also get rid of the little buggers :D

great video! love the nice shots showing off the disease LOL you are very funny!
+Shrimp Life thank you :)
Do malasian trumpet snails eat plants?
They shouldn’t. Not healthy plants anyway
Do you have a video about bacterial infections and how to treat them?
Not yet sorry :( I tend to do videos like that when I encounter the issue so I can get footage of it.

+Cuda FX thank you :) I shall try this out.
welcome! to completely get rid of them, you'll have to be pretty persistent.
Lovely shots and very interesting subject. I look forward to the next video.
+CubbysAquatics thank you for your support :) it's in the making!
I was told that this parasite does infect caridina shrimp as well if they are in the same tank with the neos who are infected.

Salt dips can help remove the little worms.
@@SimplyShrimps I tweesed it off her last night loll

Ha yeah! I’ll see what I can come up with in the future :)
Does anybody know how to get rid of the parasites without killing snails??

I did a video on how to salt did your shrimp too 😁

this is what i have on my shrimp and it’s definitely still scutariella. however you may want to look into things like horsehair worms
Interessting Video! Never heard of them. I'll check later my shrimps
+Aquandy I hope your shrimps were all ok 👌
Hello. Thanks for the video. But I wonder what is it inside shrimp body at ruclips.net/video/DvFzlikQE24/видео.html ? Are these the same worms?
Yes they are :)

This guy is cool
You have to use praziquantel. I have succes with this and you can use it with snails. It does not affect your water.
+Eveline Bongaerts Really? Wow I'll have to look into this! Thanks :)

+Eveline Bongaerts any you say it's not killed your snails? Hmm seems very tempting. I think I can get it on eBay :)
Yes, in the description manual it is stated that it is shrimp, snail and plant safe.
It is actually used to treat people aswell for worms lol. And my snails survived.
