That battle was amazing! I have to say, the camaraderie that all the pokemon in the Liko/Roy/Dot team have for each other is quite heartwarming. Not only do they have immense respect for each other, and compete against each other as friendly rivals at full power, but they even sacrifice themselves for each other. Tebrim knew it couldn't win, but instead of taking the selfish way out in a one-on-one fight to feint, it used its power to heal up Nyarote. I also enjoy that the show writes all the characters as able to recognize when that happens as well, instead of being clueless idiots about what is going on around them.
@@Pokeferlax sorry dude but on the point with Liko we'll have to differ. Losing so many battles and rarely getting success given how far we've gotten in the series is NOT acceptable I was lenient on Roy for this situation cos it was the early part of the series and he was actually taking steps forward in this arc, but I cannot say the same for Liko given how many episodes we've reached. She was winning battles earlier on and here she hardly won anything important. Aside from Ann and Sidian she basically lost against everyone. Yes even Amethio cos once Ceruledge terastalised it was a foregone conclusion even with spinel interfering And saying that it's not about winning or losing honestly doesn't hold up anymore and honestly INFURIATES me. There's only so long you can use that phrase to justify a loss before it gets overused and becomes a cheap excuse. You could use it to justify the loss against Katy, but after three further losses this arc, I will simply not tolerate hearing it. Liko's disgraced me as far as battling goes this whole arc and until she starts bagging consistent wins from here, my respect and patience with her is at an all time low. I hope for her sake, she starts to show real improvement and win more battles to prove herself because personal growth alone is not enough
Yes, Liko might have lost a lot of battles this arc, but based on what I saw in this arc, I think she's the strongest trainer in the trio, or at the very least, Floragato is the strongest pokemon the trio has right now. First off, Liko was up against some really bad matchups this arc. I'd say she had four major battles, facing Grusha, Amethio, Sidian, and Roy. Aside from Roy, all of these trainers were significantly more experienced than her. Grusha is a gym leader, Amethio can hold his own against Friede, and Sidian is a reasonably strong trainer too. In terms of type matchups, Liko's fights were awful, facing two fire types, an ice type, a dragon/flying type that terrastalizes in to an ice type, and a flying/electric type. Sidian was the only trainer she had a type advantage against, and he was also the only trainer she defeated. Ok, I can hear you say, the anime ignores type matchups all the time, so that doesn't really matter. Sure, it can, but it didn't. Liko was clearly on the back foot for all these matchups and needed to develop strategies on the fly to overcome these matchups. Which she did by taking advantage of Floragato's speed to dodge attacks, and using her vine to bring flying type pokemon to the ground. Floragato also forced out Grusha's Cetitan by hitting a magical leaf in its mouth, held her own against Amethio's ceruledge, tied up Grusha's Altaria to hit it with a powerful acrobatics, used acrobatics to dodge around Garganacl, forced out Roy's Fuecoco in their initial skirmish, and defeated Killowattrel with a bit of assistance from healer. The thing that impressed me the most though was something small, something near the end of the battle. When Crocalor and Floragato both terra'd and unleased their elemental attacks, we got a repeat of the scenario against Grusha, where Altaria's ice beam crashed against Floragato's magical leaf. In the battle against Grusha, Floragato's magical leaf was overwhelmed and Floragato was knocked out. Against Roy, Floragato's magical leaf was overwhelmed, but Floragato got out of the way in time, dodging the flamethrower, giving herself one more chance to win the battle. It didn't work, Floragato still lost, but it was growth. Liko has gotten better in every single battle this arc, win or lose. Every battle she's taking what she did previously, and going one step further with it. She went from hesitating with her tera against Amethio to winning with Tera against Sidian, to using tera even more effectively against Roy (even in a loss). Floragato is really, really strong, and Liko's bond with Floragato is clearly shining through. That much is obvious. Hatterem is a bit of a weak link on her team, and the anime does need to spend some more time with Hatterem to take some pressure off of Floragato doing everything, but even though Liko has lost, she's getting a whole lot stronger, really really fast. Don't be fooled by the losses. Liko has grown so much this arc, it's hard to overstate how much stronger she's gotten than she was when this arc started.
I wholeheartedly agree. Yes Liko losing a lot in this arc is a bit frustrating and I genuinely understand how and why many felt that way but to be fair, Roy lost often during the first two arcs and I don’t want to repeat it but what you said regarding Liko’s losses in this arc was honestly was perfectly worded and accurate. ☺️🥲 I believe that she still has a long way to go and basically all of their secondary Pokémon needs more training and yes its unfortunate Hattrem lost so quickly but a lot of people are ignoring the fact that she’s more of a healer than a battler. Not saying that she can’t battle but I want to point because the reveal of Healer was a nice touch and I was curious how that ability works in the anime which I say that’s a small victory in itself. 😮🥹👍
She's an assist Pokémon, and that's okay. Once she turns into Hatterene, she'll be a force to reckon with. There will be no stopping the witch of the forest.
I went into Pokémon horizons thinking it wouldn’t be as great as older series but I gotta say it’s genuinely surprised me and it’s probably in my top 3 series for the Pokémon anime now.
Liko has finally learnt to battle for herself wholeheartedly while Roy has learnt to act strategically. This episode showed well how far they've come. Loved to see Liko tuning herself to the beats of Roy and Fuecoco's song.
The crowd singing along with Roy was as impactful as the people of Alola chanting 'CHAMPION!' during Ash's visit to the region in Journeys prior to the Masters 8!
I remember how everyone once criticized how Ash always seems to lose the big tournaments (obviously this was before Sun/Moon) so when he won the Orange Islands tournament and then defeated Leon there was a feeling of vindication that all the losses almost seemed worth it. I'm getting similar vibes now, like the writers are taking Liko through a similar path as Ash.
This episode really did end the Terastal Debut arc perfectly. Liko vs Roy is truly one of the best battles we've ever gotten in the Pokémon anime, especially since the animation when Liko and Roy Terastalized their Floragato and Crocalor respectively was so freaking peak. Plus, Roy's Fuecoco finally evolving into Crocalor was so wholesome and well-deserved. Overall, this episode really showed how much both Liko and Roy have grown, so I'm giving this a 15/10. I cannot wait for what Pokémon Horizons has in store for us in the Rayquaza Rising arc.
One thing I see a lot is people saying Ash's era is better due to their frustration with Liko losing. Honestly if there is one thing Ash's Era gave us was some banger English dubs that one lyrics quote always makes me think of when I see people dog on Liko or Roy for losing constantly. Diamond and Pearl's theme song comes to mind namely the "It's all about the battle you gotta play SMART you gotta move FASTER, behind every win there's a chance to begin again, you gotta take it on if you wanna be a master." Liko through this entire arc has been doing just that. She had to play smart to learn the game and use each lose to learn something new for the next time she began again in a new battle. She got smart with her moves, got faster in how she adapted and learned from others. She isn't weak she is taking losses but with each loss she learns and with every win she gains confidence in herself. She is becoming her own trainer and while she lost a lot people have to understand she was up against horrible match ups. Horizons doesn't play fast and loose with the rules anymore sometimes type advantages matter and in Liko's case they absolutely did. Katy having a Bug Type Tera Teddiursa, Amethio with a Fire/Ghost type who rendered her normal moves useless and her grass moves ineffective, the strongest gym leader who also happens to specialize in Ice types. Each time she took them on she lost or was close to it and yet with each loss Liko learned to better herself and gain a deeper bond with Floragato and learned to trust her instincts in the heat of battle. She went from a girl who thought giving up to protect the feelings of others was okay to a girl who will stand up for those who need her and not letting herself lose faith in herself or her Pokemon. Liko, despite the bad losing streak, gained more from her losses than she ever did in her wins and it shows. She is grabbing mons out of the sky, using Floragato's entire arsenal from moves to anatomy to gain the upper hand in matches she'd get smoked in otherwise, she's coming up with new moves on the fly just from a mistake she nearly made then took that mistake and ran with it to give Flora a future stab move once she's fully evolved (and need I remind anyone she now has a way to hit Ceruledge for super effective damage) , she and Floragato are more in sync than ever and you see that after the loss where her starter smiled at her and grabbed her hand because they both knew they did their best and they can only keep growing as they have been all Arc. These two are the Ash and Pikachu of the series, yet some people are too blind by the results of battles to see what is actually forming in front of them and to me that's a damn shame. Winning is not everything, you can learn from wins but you gain insight from the losses you take and how to better yourself next time. Liko will bounce back and from this Arc she will grow stronger and I feel like we will see that in the next episode against Lucius' Pokemon. This is why professionals look back on their lost games, where did they go wrong? How can they improve? What can they do better next time so they can bring home the gold? That's Liko, she's learning bit by bit and in each fight she's in she is taking from the last battle and using it. She will start winning more but she will also lose more and that is absolutely okay. She isn't losing and staying stagnant, she is losing and growing from each little step and honestly thank god for these writers who actually know how to write good Pokemon arcs and characters.
the problem is the industry ALWAYS hates females. Especially leads. That's why there's rarely any outside of magical girl animes. most are weak, cheerleader, damsel in distress tropes to prop up the male MC on a regular basis instead. This even proves it. Liko, who was strong on her own, now is fighting for the spotlight with 2 male MCs AND to prop those MALE MC'S UP, they push Liko DOWN to make it so she can't succeed. Roy and Dot should of never been more than rivals at best but now we have a situation where Liko is getting the "female protagonist/npc" treatment just to make sure Roy isn't seen as a weak link... that is not remotely OK. This is annoying anime/manga industry problem more than a female character problem tbh..
@@nobody-xh6ii Um there aren't two male mc's. If you mean Dot she's been confirmed to be female since the start she Murdock's niece. She just has a more tomboyish clothing style and uses boku in the Japanese dub due to that tom-boyishness. This is one of the rare times the two girl one boy combo happens in the Pokemon anime though. With the only time they were even gendered in the group was XY if I'm not mistaken. Roy is the only boy of the group and otherwise it's pretty even split of male and female cast members, heck even the Pokemon are fairly even with Liko's two girls, Dot's male Quaxwell and Female Tinkatink then Roy's male Crocalor with Kilowattrel being the only one of the group to not have a confirmed gender yet. If anything Horizons has been the most even in terms of gender equality from the gym leaders to the villains themselves. Having Liko and Roy take on villains of the opposite gender that their starters are strong against (Sango and Onyx). The conniving duo of Agate and Spinel being another male female combo. 2 of the 5 rising volt tacklers adults are female with one being the mechanic of the ship. Trust me Liko may be having a hard time fighting off the people who want her to bulldoze life in battles rn but she's absolutely not fighting for spotlight she gets plenty. Some would even say before she had too much since Roy got lost in the background for a good bit last Arc.
@@eljordinio7647 Man I don't know what to tell you. You seem like a person who is not happy ever unless winning is involved in everything. Liko is not defined by her battles and this arc is no different. She needed to learn ways to better herself in battle and when the chips were down she got things done but at this point the anime is beating you in the head and telling you exactly how Liko fights and where her strengths come from. She fights her hardest when protecting those she cares about notice how the Explorers have yet to actually get their hands on Terapagos this time compared to early on in the series where they got the pendant. She is not useless she won the fights that mattered and while she did lose more than she won each loss taught her something new for battling and allowing her to use more strategies than Roy or Dot ever did. You're so willing to call characters useless because you are too short sighted to the big picture. For you winning is all you care about and that's whatever you do you but don't try to preach to everyone else looking for growth outside of the results of battles. Be upset, be disappointed that's valid but your opinion is just that and just because you're mad about how Liko is going doesn't mean others will follow in that thought. I think she is doing just fine, losing is a part of battles and I can see she takes every new thing she learns from those losses to grown stronger, faster and bolder with each battle she has. She'll get there in time odds are this new arc will show the fruits of what she's learned and help her in her goals for future arcs. Be more patient as this isn't Ash's era where at this point he'd nearly have a full team with 6 badges. This anime has no predicted deadline and I'm happy we could potentially be looking at 150 or so episodes to explore this world and it's characters. The trio are already stronger than they were from the start they are showing growth with or without winning battles.
@@dash9641 and has she adequately demonstrated she's learned anything? Aside from beating Sidian, no she hasn't. I don't mind her taking a loss once in a while but three consecutive Ls plus to someone she was beating regardless of type matchups who didn't even need another win, that is beyond unacceptable Protecting someone may be good motivation to win battles but she should be able to get a few wins without people being in danger. Something she's completely failed at this whole arc since her tests began. I was forgiving of Liko after losing to Katy but after that my patience with her is paper thin. There's only so much you can expect people to just tolerate before they've had enough. Weakness is one thing that I will not tolerate or accept, and until Liko starts redeeming herself and getting consistent wins going forward, she's only brought my harsh treatment of her on herself. Failure has consequences and like how Ash received little to no sympathy for losing where it counted more than once, I will not show Liko any mercy either til she proves herself. Personal growth is not enough at this point
Although Liko lost the battle against Roy, this battle REALLY showed just how much they've grown throughout the arc especially compared to VERY early in the series when they would just spam moves. I really love how this whole battle is the culmination of their whole adventure so far, Liko started off as someone who was scared and didn't have the drive to battle, but now she’s gained so much confidence that she can battle with her Pokémon exceptionally. And Roy started off as someone who didn’t think before acting, now he’s become disciplined and a great battler. Neither of them started off as quick learners or Jacks/Janes of all trades, and the changes in their characters weren't sudden or unnatural at all. Once again, genuine character development. And the battle shows off how much their friendship has evolved since the start of the series, espeically the fact that, despite literally being in the middle of the battle, not only the crowd was hyping Roy up as he sings, Liko JOINS IN on hyping up Roy as well. And in the battle I LOVE how it's constantly going back and forth between them as they come up with strategies and then countering each other's strategies. Floragato using its yo-yo to restrain Fuecoco, Roy then took advantage of that by having Kilowattrel pull Floragato up with it, and then Liko using Floragato's Magical Leaf to soften her landing after being tossed down by Kilowattrel. Then Roy using Kilowattrel's Wind Power ability to power up Spark to overpower Floragato and then paralyzing her, Liko's Hattrem's last resort using her Healer ability to heal Floragato's paralysis and both of their Terastallized Pokemon clashing at the end.
That's a very gross oversimplification. Despite these losses, do remember that Liko has had some really bad matchups this arc, but despite that she handled the battles REALLY well despite the type disadvantage. She NEEDED to develop strategies to overcome these bad matchups on the spot and that she did REALLY well.
@@theonlineninja7596 type advantage is not the be all and end all in case people are so blind to forget Otherwise kilowattrel would have taken floragato out too
THANK GOD YOU SAID WHAT YOU DID AT THE END!!! I needed that. Eljordinio keeps saying that liko is weak because she keeps losing. When they literally explained in the beginning of the ark that it doesn't matter if you win or lose. You just have to battle and adapt strategies well in order to pass.
@@supermariogamer1757 well I'm sorry but some people actually want proper success from these protagonists instead of continuous screw ups This approach only cheapens passing and battling as a whole cos "oh I don't have to even win, I can just terastalise and it will be fine", that is lame and as passive as it gets
Liko and Roy are growing stronger in their own unique way, by learning more about themselves and understanding of hardship and life, I tried to even created the higher standard for them to surpassed, and they did. Their improve characters development has succeeded even my highest expectations, Liko and Roy cannot be deined.
There is sadly a lot of hypocrisy in the Horizons fandom which I've noticed since day one. When Roy loses all the time, it's fine. People make fun of him and joke about it. But now when it's reversed and Liko is constantly losing, all of a sudden it's problem. As a fan of both characters, I'm happy to finally see a more even playing field between them, with both having their share of wins and losses. Both of them did well here and I'm happy Roy got his well earned win.
@LokiToxtrocity tbh i stopped watching Horizons a little after Roy was introduced because of this reason. I didn't want to see 2 male characters appear when the show was about Liko. It's not often we get an anime focused on females and it was a good start but anime producers and manga writers ALWAYS introduce males as MC's just to shaft females so often or write them poorly once males are in the picture as MC's/Protagonists.. Unfortunately the introduction of Roy was causing just that. [Also the cameos of the kid with Quaxly did not help because I knew he'd most likely be joining the group. If he was a rival it would of been fine.] If they remove Roy I'll pick up Horizons again but till then I wantEd the anime to FINALLY focus on a female lead. Not 2 males of the group and the female just being another weak cheerleader type trope.
@@nobody-xh6ii The show is not "about Liko". Horizons is Liko and Roy's story, which has been known since the show was announced. Also, reading the rest of your post, it's clear you have no idea what you're talking about which makes sense because you said you basically dropped the show after a few episodes, so I won't bother correcting you.
Unfortunately missed this episode yesterday, course it’s the one that people are saying it’s a masterpiece. Sigh… glad people enjoyed it. Sounds like a nice end to this arc, exciting to hear what comes next.
I'm not surprised that Liko lost since Roy had more type advantages than her. The only battles Liko won in this arc were against Anne and Onyx who used pokemon that she had a type advantage against. Hopefully the next arc will help her learn to overcome type disadvantages since that was the main reason she lost so many times throughout this arc. She may have beaten Roy twice despite Sprigatito having a type disadvantage against Fuecoco, but those victories were mainly because Sprigatito learned new moves that caught Roy off guard and now Roy has learned to adapt as was shown after Floragato learned sucker punch. I wonder is Amethio can help Liko overcome this problem. Ceruledge's ability (weak armor) increases his speed, but also lowers his defense, which isn't too different from having a type disadvantage.
Two points here: 1) Liko has gotten much stronger, even with this loss. She takes it in her stride and her Pokemon now fully feel for her. 2) We mustn't forget Roy is also the main MC of this show. He deserve to win as much as Liko.
@@45TRANSFORMERSFAN Roy is the only one who consistently won this arc. It's great for him but look how dirty his teammates got done in comparison This fight he should have taken a back seat
@@eljordinio7647 Ah, yes. Get an angry uproar from nobodies on the Internet. That surely sounds significant. It's not like Liko can see your tantrums anyway.
Love the part with Onyx and Sango eating together. Sango is eating sandwich, a reference to her fake name as a student. Onyx asked her if she likes it but she said not really while pointing out that Onyx is eating onigiri. Also love that Sango actually offers half of the sandwich to her Glailie.
I would also like to say, don't take Liko's loss against Roy either. Liko was the one who was winning against Roy over and over again, but Roy is actually trying to be a battler. That's his goal. So it only makes sense that he surpasses her right now. Liko was still trying to figure out why she battles, and it's something she only recently discovered. It wouldn't have made sense for her to win. I think if you guys wanna see more female protags in the future get the spotlight, then you need to quit pressuring the people who write them. Treat them the same you would any male protag, cause some of you guys take Liko's loss so personally, and you didn't treat Ash that way. So why is Liko different?
@@cynda1178 so people should be proud of her for losing constantly where it matters this whole arc? People gave Ash flack for all the lethal Ls he took, why should Liko be exempt from criticism? Cos she's growing? Cos she doesn't know what she's battling for? Cos she's new? All that is just cheap excuses at this point in the series
All of there goals is to be a treasure hunter which yes does have some battles roy wants to learn about and recapture rayquaza, liko wants to learn about terapagos and gather the hero Pokémon to take them to where Lucius last was and is becoming just like him, dot wants a treasure I think she is going to get ogerpon as her treasure. They will most likely never do a battle league they don’t want to become a professional battler like ash that isn’t their goal this was just a training arc to get the Tera orb nothing more.

HZ really knows how to make banger climaxes for arcs. I really like this battle, which clearly shows how much Liko and Roy has grown so far. It was full of strateges from both sides. Like using Flame Charge to make Floragato dizzy or making Kilowattrel fly high, so trick with yo-yo wouldn't work. On Liko's side as well. While Hattrem was a weakest link, it at least used Healer to cure Floragato's paralysis. Massive shoutout to Floragato as well. Not only her stumbling with yo-yo caused her to learn Sucker Punch, but Flora holded herself very well despite type disadvantage against both Roy's mons. Highlight is definitely Fuecoco's evolution into Crocalor and final Tera clash. Such a beautiful evolution, man. The only 2 minor nitpicks for me is : 1) I really hope, that Floragato didn't ditch Acrobatics for Scratch and has it alongside Sucker Punch. 2) I really wish, that Friede and whole Brave Olivine crew were there to watch the battle. P.S: Also love, how Dot didn't hold guns and Teraed Quaxwell against barely alive Darumaka. She was into blood here.
The way Fuecoco evolved was exactly how I imagined! Him and Roy singing, everyone cheering, and the both of them enjoying a spectacular battle with their rivals, Liko and Floragato 🥹👏👏👏
Honestly, if not for the "newly evolved pokemon cannot lose" rule, i think Liko should have won. Most of the battle, she was shown to be one step ahead on Roy, and even countered his startegies faster than he did hers.
What does that make Ash's Monferno and Grotle? Also, Liko's main reason for her past 2 victories against Roy were because Sprigatito learned new moves that caught him off guard and Roy has adapted to that now, as was shown after Floragato learned sucker punch.
To be fair he did have a massive type advantage against liko’s ace with both of his Pokémon and took down one of her Pokemon first. Also monferno, torterra, and swadloon who?
The battle was good, and both of them have shown a lot of improvement. I don't hate the outcome. But I wish Liko had been the one to win, just because this arc has not really been kind to her, often pitting her against opponents she was at a disadvantage towards, while Roy's done much better for himself overall, with opponents he was strong against (Brassius) and neutral against (Ryme, and he had coverage for her ace) respectively. She did well, but it's beginning to make her look a bit like a jobber, and that kind of reflects poorly on her when she the lead focal character.
@@13CrystalHeart To be fair the fact she put almost beat Roy who had a type advantage. Put up a good fight against Grusha, Katie, and Amethio And defeated Sigion shows she’s clearly gotten a lot stronger.
@@KirbyStarAnimation She does well in her battles, I do think the arc did showcase her becoming stronger. It just kinda sucks she's still taken a lot of Ls despite that. I suppose I just wanted things more evened out, y'know?
Blame the anime/manga writers. When it comes to females they rather make them weak, cheerleader types who get shafted and pushed to the side to prioritize males above all else. All because "writing females is too hard" nonsense. [Yes, their EXACT WORDS!] They should of never introduced Roy as another Male lead. Same with Dot. Rivals would of been fine but nnnooo...
@@nobody-xh6ii And Liko and Dot were made weak how? Also this series has 2 different strong female villains and two different strong females secondary characters in Orla and Molly. One of which is a blacksmith and the other serving as the team’s medic. Liko beat a big strong male character in Sigion. Has already beat Roy and almost beat him here. Almost beat Katie who’s another strong female character. And put up a good fight against two strong male characters in Amethio and Grusha. Roy and Dot serving as the other two main protagonists works as it allows the writers to explore different avenues with each of their main characters.
Thanks a lot, man for addressing all the Liko criticisms. I feel losses are a part and parcel for the path to become a great trainer. She had a lot of losses this arc, but let's not forget that she has a lot of scope as said by Grusha

I can say that Liko and Roy both won. This battle was all about how much they have learned and grown since they began. And the way they went all out, that is way to conclude the arc. 💪💪
The way it shows Liko, Roy, and Dot with their starters at their second evolution just shows how much all three of them have grown and have reach the next level in their journey.🌺🔥💧
I watched it without subs so I didn’t realize what Geeta said about Liko challenging the league!! Personally I think this could happen after the series concludes, if the gang ever has to part ways (I hope they don’t though, I love them all 😭😭)
My thoughts exactly!! I think the series could end with Liko setting off to beat the Gyms and enter the Pokemon League, after the series ends! It makes a lot of sense! 🔥

Fuecoco's evolution was perfect. Liko, Roy, and Dot have grown so much. I'm really excited to see what the explorers do next. Horizons has been such a good series.
Seeing this battle intensify with both Liko and Roy sweating reminds me on how battles in Beyblade anime are intense and epic. I want to see something like that in a Pokemon League that can even surpass Ash’s league appearances. Penny, Nemona, Geeta, Gym Leaders, and the Elite Four should try and return in Rayquaza Rising Arc so we can see more even in cameos. Arven should have more someday. Perfect conclusion to the Terestral Debut.
We weren't shown Kofu and Tulip(Paldea gym leaders) So in future Liko and Roy will return to Paldea because both Gym leaders were shown in opening song along with others
The moment when Roy's Fuecoco finally evolves into Crocalor after all that time they had spent singing, dancing, and training together is just so amazingly heartfelt and well-planned out perfectly .
Yo I love this episode: it’s amazing how far Liko, Roy and Dot have come and they are definitely gonna go farther. Fuecoco finally evolved! Yes! Even though I’m gonna miss em being a fuecoco I can’t to see how he’ll grow as a strong battler. Now we need Liko Roy and dot to expand their teams
This was an epic episode! I just watched it and was completely engaged from beginning to end. I loved the great writing and character development. Hogator evolved at the perfect moment, and winning was an amazing way for Achigator to debut in the anime. This season was great, the only gripe I have is that I'd have like Arven to have a role in this arc, but i guess he will be more relevant later on.
I can't wait for Crocalor and Floragato evolve into Skeledirge and Meowscarada in future episodes and face off against each other. Torch song vs. Flower Trick sick showdown.❤🔥
The Next Arc is probably the Final Season of Pokemon Horizons Series so far Liko’s Floragato will be Evolved into Meowscarada but the other two Evolved so late in the series they might not be Fully Evolved in the End!
I love how you talk about this battle being reminiscent of Ash vs Leon. I love that. I hope you put back the video review of Ash vs Leon of Ash beating Leon. I really missed that video.

People complain about Liko.. But didnt Ash loses alot in the original anime. Even alot of his badge wins were freebies or extremely bad plot. . Liko shouldnt be beating people who are way more experienced as she is just starting out. She won the first battle so make sense they give Roy the second. To get back on my point to ash (He got destroyed by brock) then won by plot armor on geodude and the sprinklers beat onix Misty pretty much gave him the badge. Surge was his first legit win (after getting destroyed first)...erica was a freebie for saving the gym from burning. And he lost every major tournament (up until Alola and Galar) in the dumbest ways to trainers far below his skill (except Tobias (man had the hacked legends lol and Alan which everyone still thinks Ash should have won that but meh)
@@solarium-z8230 I criticise when it's warranted. Get used to it. Til Liko improves properly and starts bagging some wins, this is what she gets as a result of her constant failures
Wow that's an insane amount of time! Thanks so much for supporting me for so long, that's such a wonderful feeling for me! Here's to another 3 years! 🥳
It was so perfect til the very end, with the explorers eating their names lol perfect momentum the best in the whole anime! Roy needed to win this time, Liko will battle Roy again and win for sure but for now lets be happy for Crocalor and Roy❤
Dude I am so agreeing with you! This story arc was just awesome and I am glad that I am not the only one that thought that this battles animation was as great as Ash vs Leon!😁🥳
One more thing I have to say to the new Rayquaza Rising Arc: The poster for this arc showed all the three missing Legendary Heroes will appear: Kleavor, Entei and Rayquaza. But wait a second, that sounds like the story is already moving toward its conclusion. I mean, once the six heroes are assembeled, the only things left on the agenda would be the journey to Raqua and the final showdown with the Explorers and the final of Horizons. But if we compare this to the Pokemon series 5-8, which had 140-150 episodes, we're just almost at half the lenght. So either the rest of the story gets expanded a little more, or this could be the shortest series in Pokemon history.
I love to see how much Liko, Roy, and Dot have grown! This episode might be my favorite in the entire pokemon anime. The writing was amazing, the animation was incredible, and I love the fact that little, if not nothing, is being forgotten. It really makes me so confused as to why people are hating on Liko because she lost to Roy, like hello? Florigato has a type disadvantage to both of Roy's pokemon. If Roy lost, I think he'd get a lot more hate because of the fact that he had the advantage.
While Arc 3 was basically mostly a sidestep from main plot, it was great . It really feels how much trio has changed from the start of the series. There are some noticeable issues, like Liko barely having any W or mostly underutilized second mons in fights, but there are way more pros than cons. And Gen 9 got treated way better in this arc, than Gen 8 was in entire JN. But I really hope, that we will see Team Star in the future and more prominent roles for Arven and Sada/Turo. Absolutely best decision was making Dot as a participant of the Course. Like, she isn't a dead weight, like Chloe was. She is legit third main character alongside Liko and Roy. And she feets so well with them, to the point I really hope, that arc 4 onwards she wouldn't stuck at ship and travel alongside Liko, Roy and Friede.
I think the same but they aren’t doing it because they are evil or want power in my opinion, I think they are going to be the type of character where you think they are the most evil people until you see the only reason they did it was to protect there family. They will be the villains even to the ones they want to protect if it means they are safe. Like I think gibeon wants immortality or to bring back Lucius or someone else he lost and there is always a cost/sacrifice that needs to be made for that look at AZ/floette all those Pokémon died. So I think spinel and chalce are making sure the others are safe by getting them kicked out and gibeon has to use them as sacrifices.
Another thing nobody talks about is, before the battle, Liko gave Terapagos to An for save keeping. If An really is a spy for the Explorers, this would have been the moment to drop the mask and disappear with the trophy. But she didn't. I'm getting more and more convinced, when it comes to An being a traitor, we're barking at the wrong three.
@@chrisneustaedter6788 we don't even know if Ann is working for the explorers to begin with. If she were, Terapagos would be with them by now And even then, they aren't interested in stealing Terapagos yet until it gets its full power back, and it can't do that til all Six Heroes are united
So, because of your review, I just had to go watch the episode for myself, and man, it just blew me away! The growth from Liko, Roy, and Dot was on full display! The battle between Liko and Roy was one for the history books, and both of them battled their own way! The way Fuecoco evolved was just perfect, and honestly, I found myself singing right along too! I don't care what anyone says about the result: That battle needed to have Roy the winner. I mean, Liko has won basically every enounter they've had, so Roy was due. Even though Liko lost, she didn't look weak at all, and she showed exactly what she's capable of as a trainer, and that's a victory in my books. Her bond with Hattrem and Floragato is crystal clear, as is Roy's with Kilowattrel and his newly evolved Crocalor. I think my only complaint would be that it would've been nice to have Floragato turn Quick Attack into Trailblaze, but that's a minor pick. Seriously, you weren't kidding when you said this battle gave off Ash vs Leon vibes. I can't wait for this episode to be out in English, as I've already watched it multiple times, and I can't wait for what the future holds!
Honestly I think Roy deserved the win more. He's the only one of the trio who passed the course by winning outright. Dot and Liko had their evolved starters and still couldn't defeat their respective gym leaders. I didn't think Killowattrel would hard counter Liko's team as hard as it did. Now whats got me REALLY hyped was Spinel at the end of the episode. Seems like the seeds have been placed for a potential mutiny to take place
I think the only criticism I can give this one episode is that Arven didnt have a single interaction with any of the main cast.Dude didn't even have a single line.Other than that, One of the best episodes in HZ.
I am happy they are finally showing us special abilities in pokemon horizons for once. The original pokemon anime didn't show special abilities that much. So I'm happy.
Ep 66 and 67 are absolute banger!!!! Liko fighting and earning grusha approval and liko Roy throwing everything at each other to one up the other one bangers!!!

When is summer camp season 2 coming out I’m dying waiting for it 😅
Fuecoco and Roy having a fan base really got me!
This episode really did end the Terastal Debut arc perfectly.
Losing so many battles and rarely getting success given how far we've gotten in the series is NOT acceptable
I was lenient on Roy for this situation cos it was the early part of the series and he was actually taking steps forward in this arc, but I cannot say the same for Liko given how many episodes we've reached. She was winning battles earlier on and here she hardly won anything important. Aside from Ann and Sidian she basically lost against everyone. Yes even Amethio cos once Ceruledge terastalised it was a foregone conclusion even with spinel interfering
And saying that it's not about winning or losing honestly doesn't hold up anymore and honestly INFURIATES me.

Liko is definitely getting stronger and now she is on her way to ketakami to find lushis klevor
I believe that she still has a long way to go and basically all of their secondary Pokémon needs more training and yes its unfortunate Hattrem lost so quickly but a lot of people are ignoring the fact that she’s more of a healer than a battler. Not saying that she can’t battle but I want to point because the reveal of Healer was a nice touch and I was curious how that ability works in the anime which I say that’s a small victory in itself. 😮🥹👍

Diamond and Pearl's theme song comes to mind namely the "It's all about the battle you gotta play SMART you gotta move FASTER, behind every win there's a chance to begin again, you gotta take it on if you wanna be a master."
Liko through this entire arc has been doing just that.
@@dash9641 yet they still have the nerve to do characters dirty like this. One character shouldn't be improving at the cost of another being useless
I don't mind her taking a loss once in a while but three consecutive Ls plus to someone she was beating regardless of type matchups who didn't even need another win, that is beyond unacceptable
Protecting someone may be good motivation to win battles but she should be able to get a few wins without people being in danger.
When sprigatto evolved fuecco learn a new move. Now it's flipped. They really grow together
One of my favorite episodes ever, amazing animation, great battle and the ending was great, well done
Fuecoco evolving to Crocalor hit hard for me!!!!!!!
IT WAS INSANE 🔥

@@WulfLemusthe journey is focused on the 3 of them
@LokiToxtrocity tbh i stopped watching Horizons a little after Roy was introduced because of this reason. If he was a rival it would of been fine.]
If they remove Roy I'll pick up Horizons again but till then I wantEd the anime to FINALLY focus on a female lead. Not 2 males of the group and the female just being another weak cheerleader type trope.

I’ve never seen trainers sweat in a battle before. It’s weird.
This episode was amazing my favorite part was liko and roy remembering all the good times they had together

All of there goals is to be a treasure hunter which yes does have some battles roy wants to learn about and recapture rayquaza, liko wants to learn about terapagos and gather the hero Pokémon to take them to where Lucius last was and is becoming just like him, dot wants a treasure I think she is going to get ogerpon as her treasure.
The only 2 minor nitpicks for me is :
1) I really hope, that Floragato didn't ditch Acrobatics for Scratch and has it alongside Sucker Punch.
2) I really wish, that Friede and whole Brave Olivine crew were there to watch the battle.
P.S: Also love, how Dot didn't hold guns and Teraed Quaxwell against barely alive Darumaka. She was into blood here.
Liko and Roy both confess out loud- *AD STARTS PLAYING*

Blame the anime/manga writers. When it comes to females they rather make them weak, cheerleader types who get shafted and pushed to the side to prioritize males above all else. All because "writing females is too hard" nonsense. [Yes, their EXACT WORDS!]
They should of never introduced Roy as another Male lead.

I think they will use kieran and arven's stories to expand, probably also liko fighting the league
My baby has evolved and now I'm happy for him. This is generally my favorite episode out of the whole Pokemon anime.
With Fuecoco evolving there is no way he was going to lose, anime logic.

@Roseberry606 they will play their role as a loyal servants until the final moments backbiting gibeon so bad.
If she were, Terapagos would be with them by now

She is being cautious,simp
Curious if Arven will get a speaking role when we eventually get into the Area Zero content?
He got type advantages, rematches, and weaker trainers, he has really different circumstances
