Lack of sleep is really one of the most unhealthy things of all time, please take more time for the day and sleep more. Insomnia will come if you do not change it and it is going to pummel you down more than anything, please don't cut on sleep.
I gotta correct you on sth. the festival of masks wasn´t always about the trio. it´s way older, so using it as a way to pray for good apples is probably the original purpose. the trio only god added as so called Protector guardians after their demise.
I’ve gotten far more chill with filler episodes in Journeys and Horizons after I’ve been gradually going through the whole anime from Indigo league forward. The og anime with Ash is like 70% filler and I think people are too hard on the modern anime forgetting that XD
I feel totally the same! Back in the first few series’ of the anime we got fillery episodes that had absolutely no impact on anything ALL THE TIME, Horizons has barely none of those in comparison 😆 besides fillery episodes can be fun every now and then!

Fun fact about Shizune, the daughter of the caretaker, she's actually a pokémon trainer in the games and that's where she says that's her dad! Thought that was a neat little detail
I like, how HZ constantly moves plot forward despite what could be like an average filler episode. This was an okay episode imo. Even with whole Roy/Crocalor switching, this ep. introduced us to Kitakami and Carmine (her annoyance with Friede carelessly being better at everything was hilarious). Kinda wish, that Cap vs Sinistcha was a bit longer. Hopefully Carmine will appear later. She is way too important character in DLC, only for her to be used in one episode. Pretty basic episode with fun antics. The best moment of the episode was easily Crocalor encouraging Roy to use Flamethrower through music. It comes full circle. But I really wish Liko and Dot also used Synchro Machine. Mainly because unlike Roy/Crocalor, Liko/Floragato and Dot/Quaxwell pairs had so different personalities compare to each other, so it would be amusing to see them acting in different bodies.
Totally agree with everything you just said! Like, even with this episode being slightly on the fillery side, it still progressed the plot, by introducing Carmine and pointing the RVT’s towards the Crystal Pool! So it definitely makes it worth watching in the grand scheme of things! Also seeing Liko or Dot switching bodies with their partners would’ve been so awesome, I’d love to have seen how they handle being a Pokémon with such a different personality…
That what i love with HZ, even thought its Filler its somehow connect with the plot,if it skipped it Will create plot hole, safari zone episode from OG is actually Filler but it contain major point and showcasing something from the game,because it got banned,people have question since when Ash catch 30 tauros causing plot hole, while porygon episode didnt connect with the plot that even if you skipped it, no plot hole happen
the group is at Kitakami to find Kleavor I don't think having an adaption of the teal mask story is that important for this arc, throw a nod here and there but it shouldn't be the main focus
Yeah, I would have done the same, but I fear they might completely ignore it, which is really bad, cuz the DLC has a lot of stuff that can be saved for future storylines.

Synclaire clearly stated that the syncro machine is highly experimental and should only be used in the BB Academy Terrarium. Whoever brought the device from BBA to Kitakami is getting detention!
It might have been Briar & it might have just accidentally been dropped while in her possession before going to the Crystal Pool (which could explain why it was malfunctioning)
My guess is that in the anime continuity, Kieran is already the Blueberry Academy Champion and is at his school instead of in Kitakami. That's my guess at the moment, at least. I liked the whole body swap concept in this episode.
I guess it depends on the direction. As we the players don't exist to drive Kieran into becoming BB Champion of the Club in the BB Academy; it could be that Kieran is just his little regular shy self before his "heel turn"
The Roy Achigator swap was hilarious, I love this episode. This is the first time I got a close look to Carmine and hear her voice, she's pretty cute, I must say.
If only Liko and Dot had switched their bodies with Floragato and Quaxwell just the same to Roy and Crocalor, it would be even more entertained and fun
I think this takes place after the events of Teal Mask and Indigo Disk. Who wants to bet this leads to a moment where Florian/Juliana (alongside Kieran) comes in to help them out for a while before going off on their own adventure?
I agree they definitely didn't butcher Kitakami at all!! I'm surprised to hear people are disappointed, they just arrived to Kitakami so I'm sure there'll be more to come in the following episodes!! This was definitely my favorite episode in terms of just slice of life fun goofy moments! The syncromachine was cool to see here, and mann I really want to see more episodes of pokemon talking like we've seen here xD Very cute and something I wish to see more in the future!
They just arrived, maybe more will be revealed and I don't think this is the end for Carmine and probably will get to do something with Liko, as they look really similiar to not have this at the very least refferenced.
I have no idea how they're supposed to dub this episode If you can think of anything, that the dubbing team could make out of the components of the word "Crocalor", comment below. I can't think of anything that would be useful for the episode. Edit: possibly the "ca" could be turned into 'kay (so as in "okay"), but I think it's too short for it to sound like that
I love the puns when they were asking Achigeera in Roy's body and it said "chigee" which sounded like "chigau" in Japanese, meaning "that's wrong" And also when Achigeeta kneeled to look at the girl's geta (wooden slippers) saying "geeta, geeta" 😂
Body Swap tropes are always so fun to see in action, so this easily became one of my favorite Horizons so far. I absolutely love what they did with the trope here, and it was executed so well too! I adored how Roy as Crocalor was voiced, it really added a lot to the episode. Combine these shenanigans with the scenes of Carmine and Friede and you've got a very amusing episode. Loved every second of it, just wished they didn't tease us with a swap for Liko and Dot that's never going to happen haha.
Fun fact, Meowth taught himself how to speak to impress a female Meowth called "Meowsie" but the Female Meowth thought he was a freak. This was in his origin story.

He's shy, gets picked on a bit by his sister, and makes his first friend with us, and all of a sudden, he finds out we and his own family are lying to him about the one thing he's always identified with and was right about, we're getting buddy-buddy with his bully sister, and he's constantly losing to us, which fuels his insecurities about why he's being excluded is because he's he's seen as weak, and to top it off, we wind up being the one to live his dream, despite finding out Ogerpon just three days ago. No wonder the kid has a breakdown.
I suspect that Ogerpon and the loyal three (and by extension Pecharunt) have to exist given that we see their masks at the festival. I am curious how they’d be depicted in the show, or if they’ll get their stories expanded upon. One thing I would love to see is Pecharunt speaking to others through someone who got mochi’d.
It's kind of like with the Paradox Pokemon. They were mentioned by Agatha, who dismissed them as nonsense. So maybe Horizons will both tackle the Paradox Pokemon and Kieran as well as Ogerpon + the whole Pechurant stuff. In my opinion, it's too early to say that they threw everything out, when all of it could be salvaged later on, nor will the end of Horizons bring an end to Liko's stories forever, they can continue her story after Laqua has been found.
What if there’s different festivals throughout the year? Think about it: it’s probably a great way to not only have a bunch of fun for the inhabitants of Kitakami, but also a great way to raise funds.

That doesn’t actually prove anything of when it takes place as the anime has shown to take liberties with the game storylines. Look at Journeys with the Darkest Day storyline. Not only did they completely omit Bede but when Hop did finally show up, he was still essentially a low level trainer despite the Darkest Day happening far into Hop’s development

Seeing Arven, Nemona and Penny together in the previous arc made me think that the anime taking place aftter what happened in the games is confirmed. The Harvest Festival replacing the Mask Festival can again slot into that idea as it can take place after the events of Teal Mask... but tthe big issue with that is Briar, she's at the crystal pool whereas if the events of Teal Mask did already happen not only would Briar have alreaddy done her research at the Crystal Pool but Carmine would also not be in Kitakami... Idk I'm not saying they butchered Kitakami but they definitely will focus more on Terapagos andd Lucius than Kitakami's actual lore being Ogerpon and the Loyal Three. we might see them in an unrelated movie, maybe in thatt alternate Ash canon (while Ash's addventure in the anime is over, his alternate version can honestly come back, I'm talking about the Ash in I Choose You, Power of Us and Koko).
From how Carmine reacts the entire episode, it feels like the player hasn't been there yet.Carmine is still more aggresive towards outsiders. Other than that, I absolutely adored this episode because of the synchro machine and the bond Roy and Crocaloar share.
I would have like to see Dot and Qwackswell swapped bodies, imagine if Qwackswell in Dot's body starts trimming her hair, it would be a major disaster!
This episode was certainly... unique. It's interesting how the anime writers adapted the synchro-machine concept to work both ways. I haven't played SV, so I really don't know the new cast of characters; but Carmine attitude is a little childish isn't it? Well see how the story builds from here, but I'm expecting some slow episodes over the next few weeks now that a new arc has started.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Explorers paid a visit to Carmine later on, and, motivated by vengeance, she joined up with them so that, just ONCE, she could kick Friede's butt.

Maybe he will be releveant in the future.

The reason the synchro machine didn't work properly is because the Terarium has far more Tera Energy, which is known to optimise technology. Although Kitakami still has some Terastal energy, which is why the machine worked sometimes before it broke.
Perhaps the Synchro Machine might have been from Briar & it might have just accidentally been dropped while in her possession before she was going to the Crystal Pool (which could explain why it was malfunctioning). Moreover regarding the Tera Energy portion, since Terapagos was with the trio, wouldn't just being within close proximity to the Tera Pokemon allow the Synchro Machine to work properly even if it wasn't in the Terarium?
Yeah… people being harsh about things not being shown when they are just getting started with gen 9 dlc area plus I feel they forgot the anime is its own thing and may not go over everything in the games.
Although we all know that they didn't include Ogerpon or the Loyal Three because that might make the story a lot more messy and random, It's still a shame how they removed a lot of key elements in Kitakami which we're expecting.😭

This was a nice and interesting episode that gave us a little character development for Roy and his Crocalor. The chemistry between Friede and Carmine made me chuckle a bit. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

I mean the episode was still good without the loyal three and ogerpon and after all they traveled paldea and we didn't even see koraidon and miraidon once despite they were hinted in the opening so what's the big deal or maybe they will introduce them in some other way or mention them we just need to wait.
I hope Ann appears in this arc and maybe they finally have her join the rvt, liko's first and best friend,her rival and the writers treat her almost like Gary in os, it's not fair
I'm truly so upset Kieran wasnt in this episode.. I had been really enjoying this anime but now I just feel they kinda through away one of their best characters in the franchise and one of the best stories as well. Carmine was there and guess her fans arent super upset, but I feel like her brother missing is also dishonest to how her character is in the game. idk I need a break from the anime for this, idc if it seems childish. if they add Kieran at some point I'll catch up.
@@tempertenchi Kieran can still appear in a Blueberry Academy arc, or they revisit Kitakami. I think the reason he is not here yet is that Kieran's story is strongly tied to Ogerpon, the loyal 3, and Pechurant, who would all take away focus from the quest to Laqua and the Six heroes. So they probably will save him for the future where he can be used. Carmine probably got first as fun introduction to Kitakami as minor antagonist, but given that the promo showed also her being really sad and the fact that she still hates outsiders, I assume something terrible has happened to Kieran, but who knows and the future is not clear, but one thing for sure: Kieran for Horizons!

Most likely, because introducing him in a story where he is not the main focus (Horizons is about Laqua), he will not be as good as character and his sister already is in danger of being a flat character without Kieran adding depth to her character. Also I want to see a Liko and Carmine moment, because they look too much like sisters for them not to interact.
One thing about the Typhlosion, was this internal true lore or just someone forgetting to erase fanfiction in the server? 11:32 I've always thought of her as a Tsundere It's the first Episode in an arc, of course not everything is going to happen at once, that is bad plotting from a fanfiction.
That’s totally fair! I feel like the Roy/Crocalor body swap could’ve easily been its own episode elsewhere, and then we could’ve had Episode 69 fully focused on the festival and Carmine etc. - that would’ve made more sense if you ask me!
I think they didn't add Kieran here because he is a special character whom's entire story arc is him trying to compete with the main character of SV for the place as main hero of the story, due to his lack of self-worthl and not belieiving he cannot save anyone, until the SV main character helps snapping Kieran out of it and made him realize that you don't need to be the hero of this story in order to be a hero, and that he should be himself, Kieran. So Kieran would need as main rival in Horizons someone who is the main character and a powerful trainer enough to get his dream Pokémon Ogerpon and thus start the main rivalry with him. But no Rising Volt Tackler is strong enough to do this, Ogerpon is too much for any of them, even Friede. The actual main hero of this story is Liko, who is not yet a super strong trainer like the SV main character. Even if we dial down Kieran's power-level, he would be defeated and humiliated by Liko due to her main hero status and inevitably join the explorers, become her main rival, and take away a lot of screentime and attention from the other explorers, since he is more popular and ambitous than any of them. It would not sit well for Horizons, as these characters are better used when they are in focus as of now and the story is about Laqua, not Kieran or Ogerpon. Once Laqua is done, an arc with Blueberry Academy and mostly Kieran at the center can happens, where he can be the focus of this story, with a better Liko, Dot and Roy being better able to challenge him. As for this episdoe, I do like Carmine in there, but I feel like without Kieran, she is a bit incomplete as this was a very important part of her character to be protective of him, even if she is faulty, but I do not mind this one episode without that, however if this is her only character in Horizons, she will fall mega flat. Friede can work a bit as a rival here, he gives me Drayton vibes and this could perhaps explain why Carmine doesn't like him much, he beats her all the time. But Back to Horizons, I also think that in this episode explaining us all about Kitakami works, as this was jsut a fun festival and as Kieran, Ogerpon, Pechurant and it's 3 grunts are a bit too heavy for them right now, have them be at best foreshadowed, so they can be used in the future. However I do feel like I have to disagree with you, Pokelerfax, she does work as a foil to Carmine, as they are highly protective of those they care about, but do it in diffrent ways, with Liko being encouraging while Carmine is not. Also if the more darker aspects with her brother will come into Horizons, Liko could make her realize her wrongdoings. Also both of them look alike, so this means they most likely will come into contact with one another, and as Liko dealt with dark individuals before, Carmine will not be diffrent, at least not that much. Also having a cheerful girl vs a an aggressive one is too funny and cool to not use, so I hope at least one interaction and that Carmine will reveal something about Kieran, because without her, she would be a bit too one dimensional as girl-failure without that dark family dynamic. Will Liko and co. meet Kieran one fateful day after they reached their potential? Will they learn about the truth Ogerpon and the Loyal Three? Will Kieran be once more a main rival to the Hero of this story and be a friend of her in the end? We'll find it out in the future!!!

This episode made me feel like carmine was a one-off character and is meant to never be seen again ... could any of you reassure me on this because imo that would be such a shame to tease camine's debut only to have her be a one-shot character , besides they wouldn't possibly care to release a character sheet for an unimportant character right ??
I’m personally the opposite when it comes to Friede and Carmine. Given that Liko didn’t get to bond with any of the game characters who were her peers, I was hoping that she’d get to interact with Carmine. Not only does it feel kinda like punching down having an adult competing with a teenager but I find it would have been so much more fun seeing Liko, Roy and Dot competing with her across the festival than Friede essentially getting that connection
Perhaps Liko might end up bonding with Perrin (or possibly even Briar due to her connection to Terapagos) as Perrin is the only lead to finding Kleavor. A rumor-theory fans have about Perrin is that depending on how the anime decides to similarly parallel Perrin from the games to the anime that perhaps Liko might be given from Perrin a Hisuian Growlithe (as in the brother to Perrin's Partner Hisui Growlithe that she gives to the player for helping her); which could be comparison towards her Grandma Diana & her Kantonian Arcanine, as well as that Growlithe when it evolves to Arcanine could be the Next Generation Land Galloper Hero to Lucius's Entei/Gouging Fire
@@Omnislash7 Also design wise Liko and Carmine mesh well, as most often characters with similar designs have at the very least on dynamic with one another like Mario and Wario. I do think Carmine will interact with the group more given that Briar is her homeroom teacher and will assist her in assisting the RVT, and that gives her an opportunity to compete with Friede and thus with Liko as a way to get back at him, by using one of his crew members.
@@MarcusMapua Although even in that case, it comes with the issue that Liko isn’t bonding with peers her own age. Roy got to get a connection with Nemona while Dot got to get a connection with Penny. Liko meanwhile didn’t get to connect with any of her peers. And now the instant that the adults are back, it’s Friede, the guy who they made a bad habit of stealing the limelight before, who they have make a connection with Carmine. This is honestly why I liked it better last arc when the adults were out of the picture and the trio could experience the world on their own
@@Omnislash7 Maybe this is why they might remove Friede in the future by having him die or retiring for some reason. Personally Friede has too much candy, he needs some spinach, the bitter kind btw.
So for that first part with Kitakami I guess you can say you did an oopsie so I say for now no Horizons didn't butcher Kitakami because the RVT's goal is looking for Professor Briar and they just happen to drop by the Harvest Festival. I imagine we'll be seeing more of Carmine and even Kieran later if by chance the crew does go to Blueberry Academy to get more info on Tera crystals before entering Area Zero. You can say this episode was a needed break from the action. Besides, it's going to take more than a single episode if they do plan to handle Ogerpon and the Loyal Three story and the same goes for Kieran. That and it's very likely everything in the Teal Mask already happened and that includes Pechaurant unveiling himself because Penny, Nemona, and Arven are interacting with each other normally.
Yeah, if Kieran and the Ogerpon storyline is to be used, it would be better as a new story arc after Laqua has been reached, maybe as a new series or movie, though the former is better as idea. The trio already completed their terastal course, so Blueberry Academy is not necessary here. Also I think Carmine is not done yet, she will appear in the future, and IMO she will have her more tender moments...even if it might be brief when they are doing it in the near future.
This episode made me get excited and made me to love Crocalor and Roy🐊 since the the beginning🥰 and now they know how each other even more it is a nice and beutifull❤️ episode The next episode preview showed me that maybe Tinkatink wil evolve😯 And thank you for the comment from the last episode review pokeferlax😊😃
I understand wanting all of the DLC stuff to be more prominent in the story, but given how packed the plot of Horizons already seems...........it's probably for the best they didn't try to shoehorn in the game plot
Maybe, as I often mention, they finish the Laqua story can they start anew and add the DLC stuff there. I also didn't expect much coming from it right now, but at the very least they should mention the legend one time here, even if very briefly, since that is important to Kitakami and they heroes can, even if biased, at the very least learn something here, could be useful when they reach Laqua and learn more about Lucius and Gibeon, who knows.
In my school vr game recently, The Ultra Guardians and Rising Volt Tacklers are against alot of Ultra copies (Goalius used a special pen he has which if it has the permission blood creates copies until ever the original is dead or the Pen is destroyed and due there being over 275 Goalius copies that is far easier said than done)

It seems like Horizons occurs after the events of the Scarlet and Violet have happened (though seemingly without julianna/florian). Like the Zero Gang are already together implying the mirai/koraidon stuff has already happened. And just for clarity this isn’t me saying HZ takes place in the games, just that it takes place after the equivalent of what happened in the games
I can see that female pokemon anime fans in japan will be angry, since there wasn't Kieran in this episode. This is the most popular character in female pokemon fandom in japan. In my opinion this episode was 9/10, and there were cool mods to gen 1 games, and gen 9 dlc.
@@bacd-nn2lg Yeah without Kieran, it feels strangely empty, so they better have a good reason as to why there is no Liko and Kieran bonding here and why he is somewhere else, like BB Academy. I do think he will come, but much later in Horizons history, perhaps in a movie or even a sequel story to Horizons, once Laqua has been found and the Explorers defeated by Liko and co.
The synchro stuff was a bit boring and out of nowhere, especially as i wanted to see more of carmine, but it wasn’t that bad, we got to see how close and bonded Roy and Crocalor are

I gotta correct you on sth. the festival of masks wasn´t always about the trio. it´s way older, so using it as a way to pray for good apples is probably the original purpose. the trio only god added as so called Protector guardians after their demise.
I’ve gotten far more chill with filler episodes in Journeys and Horizons after I’ve been gradually going through the whole anime from Indigo league forward. The og anime with Ash is like 70% filler and I think people are too hard on the modern anime forgetting that XD

I feel totally the same! Back in the first few series’ of the anime we got fillery episodes that had absolutely no impact on anything ALL THE TIME, Horizons has barely none of those in comparison 😆 besides fillery episodes can be fun every now and then!

I like, how HZ constantly moves plot forward despite what could be like an average filler episode.
This was an okay episode imo. Even with whole Roy/Crocalor switching, this ep. introduced us to Kitakami and Carmine (her annoyance with Friede carelessly being better at everything was hilarious). Kinda wish, that Cap vs Sinistcha was a bit longer. Hopefully Carmine will appear later. She is way too important character in DLC, only for her to be used in one episode.
Pretty basic episode with fun antics. The best moment of the episode was easily Crocalor encouraging Roy to use Flamethrower through music. It comes full circle.
But I really wish Liko and Dot also used Synchro Machine. Mainly because unlike Roy/Crocalor, Liko/Floragato and Dot/Quaxwell pairs had so different personalities compare to each other, so it would be amusing to see them acting in different bodies.
Totally agree with everything you just said! Like, even with this episode being slightly on the fillery side, it still progressed the plot, by introducing Carmine and pointing the RVT’s towards the Crystal Pool! So it definitely makes it worth watching in the grand scheme of things! Also seeing Liko or Dot switching bodies with their partners would’ve been so awesome, I’d love to have seen how they handle being a Pokémon with such a different personality…

It might have been Briar & it might have just accidentally been dropped while in her possession before going to the Crystal Pool (which could explain why it was malfunctioning)
My guess is that in the anime continuity, Kieran is already the Blueberry Academy Champion and is at his school instead of in Kitakami. That's my guess at the moment, at least.

The Roy Achigator swap was hilarious, I love this episode. This is the first time I got a close look to Carmine and hear her voice, she's pretty cute, I must say.

Body Swap tropes are always so fun to see in action, so this easily became one of my favorite Horizons so far.
I absolutely love what they did with the trope here, and it was executed so well too! I adored how Roy as Crocalor was voiced, it really added a lot to the episode. Combine these shenanigans with the scenes of Carmine and Friede and you've got a very amusing episode. Loved every second of it, just wished they didn't tease us with a swap for Liko and Dot that's never going to happen haha.

He's shy, gets picked on a bit by his sister, and makes his first friend with us, and all of a sudden, he finds out we and his own family are lying to him about the one thing he's always identified with and was right about, we're getting buddy-buddy with his bully sister, and he's constantly losing to us, which fuels his insecurities about why he's being excluded is because he's he's seen as weak, and to top it off, we wind up being the one to live his dream, despite finding out Ogerpon just three days ago. No wonder the kid has a breakdown.
I suspect that Ogerpon and the loyal three (and by extension Pecharunt) have to exist given that we see their masks at the festival. I am curious how they’d be depicted in the show, or if they’ll get their stories expanded upon. One thing I would love to see is Pecharunt speaking to others through someone who got mochi’d.
It's kind of like with the Paradox Pokemon. They were mentioned by Agatha, who dismissed them as nonsense. So maybe Horizons will both tackle the Paradox Pokemon and Kieran as well as Ogerpon + the whole Pechurant stuff.
In my opinion, it's too early to say that they threw everything out, when all of it could be salvaged later on, nor will the end of Horizons bring an end to Liko's stories forever, they can continue her story after Laqua has been found.
What if there’s different festivals throughout the year? Think about it: it’s probably a great way to not only have a bunch of fun for the inhabitants of Kitakami, but also a great way to raise funds.

That doesn’t actually prove anything of when it takes place as the anime has shown to take liberties with the game storylines. Look at Journeys with the Darkest Day storyline. Not only did they completely omit Bede but when Hop did finally show up, he was still essentially a low level trainer despite the Darkest Day happening far into Hop’s development

Seeing Arven, Nemona and Penny together in the previous arc made me think that the anime taking place aftter what happened in the games is confirmed. The Harvest Festival replacing the Mask Festival can again slot into that idea as it can take place after the events of Teal Mask... but tthe big issue with that is Briar, she's at the crystal pool whereas if the events of Teal Mask did already happen not only would Briar have alreaddy done her research at the Crystal Pool but Carmine would also not be in Kitakami... Idk I'm not saying they butchered Kitakami but they definitely will focus more on Terapagos andd Lucius than Kitakami's actual lore being Ogerpon and the Loyal Three. we might see them in an unrelated movie, maybe in thatt alternate Ash canon (while Ash's addventure in the anime is over, his alternate version can honestly come back, I'm talking about the Ash in I Choose You, Power of Us and Koko).
From how Carmine reacts the entire episode, it feels like the player hasn't been there yet.Carmine is still more aggresive towards outsiders. Other than that, I absolutely adored this episode because of the synchro machine and the bond Roy and Crocaloar share.

This episode was certainly... unique. It's interesting how the anime writers adapted the synchro-machine concept to work both ways. I haven't played SV, so I really don't know the new cast of characters; but Carmine attitude is a little childish isn't it? Well see how the story builds from here, but I'm expecting some slow episodes over the next few weeks now that a new arc has started.

The reason the synchro machine didn't work properly is because the Terarium has far more Tera Energy, which is known to optimise technology. Although Kitakami still has some Terastal energy, which is why the machine worked sometimes before it broke.
Perhaps the Synchro Machine might have been from Briar & it might have just accidentally been dropped while in her possession before she was going to the Crystal Pool (which could explain why it was malfunctioning). Moreover regarding the Tera Energy portion, since Terapagos was with the trio, wouldn't just being within close proximity to the Tera Pokemon allow the Synchro Machine to work properly even if it wasn't in the Terarium?
Yeah… people being harsh about things not being shown when they are just getting started with gen 9 dlc area plus I feel they forgot the anime is its own thing and may not go over everything in the games.
Although we all know that they didn't include Ogerpon or the Loyal Three because that might make the story a lot more messy and random, It's still a shame how they removed a lot of key elements in Kitakami which we're expecting.😭

This was a nice and interesting episode that gave us a little character development for Roy and his Crocalor. The chemistry between Friede and Carmine made me chuckle a bit. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

I had been really enjoying this anime but now I just feel they kinda through away one of their best characters in the franchise and one of the best stories as well. Carmine was there and guess her fans arent super upset, but I feel like her brother missing is also dishonest to how her character is in the game. idk I need a break from the anime for this, idc if it seems childish.

I think the reason he is not here yet is that Kieran's story is strongly tied to Ogerpon, the loyal 3, and Pechurant, who would all take away focus from the quest to Laqua and the Six heroes. So they probably will save him for the future where he can be used. Carmine probably got first as fun introduction to Kitakami as minor antagonist, but given that the promo showed also her being really sad and the fact that she still hates outsiders, I assume something terrible has happened to Kieran, but who knows and the future is not clear, but one thing for sure:

Most likely, because introducing him in a story where he is not the main focus (Horizons is about Laqua), he will not be as good as character and his sister already is in danger of being a flat character without Kieran adding depth to her character. Also I want to see a Liko and Carmine moment, because they look too much like sisters for them not to interact.

That’s totally fair! I feel like the Roy/Crocalor body swap could’ve easily been its own episode elsewhere, and then we could’ve had Episode 69 fully focused on the festival and Carmine etc. - that would’ve made more sense if you ask me!
I think they didn't add Kieran here because he is a special character whom's entire story arc is him trying to compete with the main character of SV for the place as main hero of the story, due to his lack of self-worthl and not belieiving he cannot save anyone, until the SV main character helps snapping Kieran out of it and made him realize that you don't need to be the hero of this story in order to be a hero, and that he should be himself, Kieran. So Kieran would need as main rival in Horizons someone who is the main character and a powerful trainer enough to get his dream Pokémon Ogerpon and thus start the main rivalry with him. But no Rising Volt Tackler is strong enough to do this, Ogerpon is too much for any of them, even Friede. The actual main hero of this story is Liko, who is not yet a super strong trainer like the SV main character.
Even if we dial down Kieran's power-level, he would be defeated and humiliated by Liko due to her main hero status and inevitably join the explorers, become her main rival, and take away a lot of screentime and attention from the other explorers, since he is more popular and ambitous than any of them. It would not sit well for Horizons, as these characters are better used when they are in focus as of now and the story is about Laqua, not Kieran or Ogerpon. Once Laqua is done, an arc with Blueberry Academy and mostly Kieran at the center can happens, where he can be the focus of this story, with a better Liko, Dot and Roy being better able to challenge him.
As for this episdoe, I do like Carmine in there, but I feel like without Kieran, she is a bit incomplete as this was a very important part of her character to be protective of him, even if she is faulty, but I do not mind this one episode without that, however if this is her only character in Horizons, she will fall mega flat. Friede can work a bit as a rival here, he gives me Drayton vibes and this could perhaps explain why Carmine doesn't like him much, he beats her all the time. But Back to Horizons, I also think that in this episode explaining us all about Kitakami works, as this was jsut a fun festival and as Kieran, Ogerpon, Pechurant and it's 3 grunts are a bit too heavy for them right now, have them be at best foreshadowed, so they can be used in the future. However I do feel like I have to disagree with you, Pokelerfax, she does work as a foil to Carmine, as they are highly protective of those they care about, but do it in diffrent ways, with Liko being encouraging while Carmine is not. Also if the more darker aspects with her brother will come into Horizons, Liko could make her realize her wrongdoings. Also both of them look alike, so this means they most likely will come into contact with one another, and as Liko dealt with dark individuals before, Carmine will not be diffrent, at least not that much. Also having a cheerful girl vs a an aggressive one is too funny and cool to not use, so I hope at least one interaction and that Carmine will reveal something about Kieran, because without her, she would be a bit too one dimensional as girl-failure without that dark family dynamic.
Will Liko and co. meet Kieran one fateful day after they reached their potential? Will they learn about the truth Ogerpon and the Loyal Three? Will Kieran be once more a main rival to the Hero of this story and be a friend of her in the end? We'll find it out in the future!!!

I’m personally the opposite when it comes to Friede and Carmine. Given that Liko didn’t get to bond with any of the game characters who were her peers, I was hoping that she’d get to interact with Carmine. Not only does it feel kinda like punching down having an adult competing with a teenager but I find it would have been so much more fun seeing Liko, Roy and Dot competing with her across the festival than Friede essentially getting that connection
Perhaps Liko might end up bonding with Perrin (or possibly even Briar due to her connection to Terapagos) as Perrin is the only lead to finding Kleavor. A rumor-theory fans have about Perrin is that depending on how the anime decides to similarly parallel Perrin from the games to the anime that perhaps Liko might be given from Perrin a Hisuian Growlithe (as in the brother to Perrin's Partner Hisui Growlithe that she gives to the player for helping her); which could be comparison towards her Grandma Diana & her Kantonian Arcanine, as well as that Growlithe when it evolves to Arcanine could be the Next Generation Land Galloper Hero to Lucius's Entei/Gouging Fire

I do think Carmine will interact with the group more given that Briar is her homeroom teacher and will assist her in assisting the RVT, and that gives her an opportunity to compete with Friede and thus with Liko as a way to get back at him, by using one of his crew members.

This is honestly why I liked it better last arc when the adults were out of the picture and the trio could experience the world on their own

So for that first part with Kitakami I guess you can say you did an oopsie so I say for now no Horizons didn't butcher Kitakami because the RVT's goal is looking for Professor Briar and they just happen to drop by the Harvest Festival. I imagine we'll be seeing more of Carmine and even Kieran later if by chance the crew does go to Blueberry Academy to get more info on Tera crystals before entering Area Zero. You can say this episode was a needed break from the action.
Besides, it's going to take more than a single episode if they do plan to handle Ogerpon and the Loyal Three story and the same goes for Kieran. That and it's very likely everything in the Teal Mask already happened and that includes Pechaurant unveiling himself because Penny, Nemona, and Arven are interacting with each other normally.
Yeah, if Kieran and the Ogerpon storyline is to be used, it would be better as a new story arc after Laqua has been reached, maybe as a new series or movie, though the former is better as idea.
The trio already completed their terastal course, so Blueberry Academy is not necessary here.
Also I think Carmine is not done yet, she will appear in the future, and IMO she will have her more tender moments...even if it might be brief when they are doing it in the near future.
This episode made me get excited and made me to love Crocalor and Roy🐊 since the the beginning🥰 and now they know how each other even more it is a nice and beutifull❤️ episode
The next episode preview showed me that maybe Tinkatink wil evolve😯

I understand wanting all of the DLC stuff to be more prominent in the story, but given how packed the plot of Horizons already seems...........it's probably for the best they didn't try to shoehorn in the game plot
Maybe, as I often mention, they finish the Laqua story can they start anew and add the DLC stuff there.
I also didn't expect much coming from it right now, but at the very least they should mention the legend one time here, even if very briefly, since that is important to Kitakami and they heroes can, even if biased, at the very least learn something here, could be useful when they reach Laqua and learn more about Lucius and Gibeon, who knows.

In my school vr game recently, The Ultra Guardians and Rising Volt Tacklers are against alot of Ultra copies (Goalius used a special pen he has which if it has the permission blood creates copies until ever the original is dead or the Pen is destroyed and due there being over 275 Goalius copies that is far easier said than done)

It seems like Horizons occurs after the events of the Scarlet and Violet have happened (though seemingly without julianna/florian). Like the Zero Gang are already together implying the mirai/koraidon stuff has already happened.
And just for clarity this isn’t me saying HZ takes place in the games, just that it takes place after the equivalent of what happened in the games

I can see that female pokemon anime fans in japan will be angry, since there wasn't Kieran in this episode. This is the most popular character in female pokemon fandom in japan. In my opinion this episode was 9/10, and there were cool mods to gen 1 games, and gen 9 dlc.
@@bacd-nn2lg Yeah without Kieran, it feels strangely empty, so they better have a good reason as to why there is no Liko and Kieran bonding here and why he is somewhere else, like BB Academy.
I do think he will come, but much later in Horizons history, perhaps in a movie or even a sequel story to Horizons, once Laqua has been found and the Explorers defeated by Liko and co.
