Honestly, combing is the only thing that I do. If I feel a little knot forming sometimes I'll pull it apart with my fingers. Every now and then a mat will form under an armpit or on a hind leg and the only solution is to shave it out. But having a solid combing routine really helps!
Definitely an important subject! I looked into both options pretty seriously and this ended up being the best option for me at the time. I'm definitely a big believer in adopting Ragdolls and try to share resources when I can.
For me -my dog -a very in your face large golden retriever made it hard .i tried taking in my moms cat when she got sick and my dog stressed her out so much she lost a lot of her hair and became reclusive ,so my boyfriend took her in.my ragdoll has such an easy personality and was actually raised with golden retrievers so she was a perfect fit.since we got her and she’s so cool with the dog,my dog has since gotten a lot more relaxed around cats and that allowed us to adopt a rescue kitty who is blind in one eye:) ragdolls are known for their easy calm personality ,and being good with other pets and dogs ,so having her chill Kitty temperament really was a life changer for this cat loving household :)
