10:02 It's because you can take out the plate mount stabs without dissasembeling the board. You just take out a switch and there's space to take out the entire stab. Even the spacebar which is why there's that line cut into the plate.
With so many people out there speaking good/ill of products or software they've never used before, I do really appreciate you backing your opinions with real user experience, and not regurgitate "popular" opinions. 👌
@@alexotos i usually prefer GMK abs sound/colors as well, but for a gaming board I usually slap a epbt set on. Cheap abs sets are usually worse than cheap pbt in my experience. Nothing worse than the shine through abs being inconsistent due to keycap wear, I've had black cheap shine through ABS start smearing before.
I did an overhaul of an ikbc CD108 V2 (original cherry yucky brownies). It was just a test to see what can be done.. That MOFO came out so good, that I wanted to keep it... but it was promised as gift. Now, there's a colleague of that guy I did the Keeb for that wants exactly the same! I have no idea why but that's that. Some peeps just want a standard, reliable keeb that just sounds and feels good. So, these overhaulin' exercises is something all enthusiasts should try! If it goes again, I'll try on a video. Kudos!
I have tried Cerakey V2 and definitely those ceramic keycaps make the sound "thock" a lot....also the touch feeling is a way better than the original plastic keycaps. So now, Cerakey V2 became my a-must-have item for keyboard modding.
like many others, I'm not a fan of proprietary software compared to opensource software like QMK/VIA/VIAL. being able to adjust a keyboard's layout on the fly, like on a work computer or my iPad on the go, is sooo nice. however, I will say the best of all the proprietary software I've used is the obinslab on for the Anne Pro 2. it was surprisingly pretty intuitive and worked without any hiccups. great video as always!
I look for a good custom for 300 dollars but i'm lost with all model in this channel, which is the best quality and good sounding, or your top3 ? thank you vey much.
2:00 havent had much experience with it myself, but id say wootility might just be more user friendly than via, pre ordered the 80HE so when that arrives ill be able to say for certain but it is still the only one that come relatively close to via
I feel like they used plate mounted stabs so that you could remove them without having to open the board and void the warranty. What other reasonings have you heard?
For all those saying the orange keys in the widow are good, they are not. They feel good and sound nice but they fail after 6 months. I"ve gone through 2 RMA's with the switches on this keyboard and i'm about to mod them to something else. :\ its tragic really.
The yellow switches are also good on Razer keyboards. I own a Blackwidow V3 with Yellows. And it sounds really nice. Just slam in some foam, lube the stems, and it sounds amazing. As for voiding the warranty, isn't it the case that they can no longer do that. Not legally anyway.
sounds pretty good stock though the competition and variety has raised hopes too much nowadays. Thanks for the modding tips. Happy summer holidays and plenty of actual rest :-)

the wooting has the best keyboard software by far, no competition
funny guy compararing HE software to normal ones
Nah, it's not open source, huge deal breaker imo
@@ArachnidEdits_ your loss
@@ArachnidEdits_So fucking what?
Damn my boy trying out new things 😂
I feel like for a gaming board I'd much rather have cheapo doubleshot pbt than cheapo doubleshot abs.
Definitely, that shine on WASDQE Shift and Space will look ass down the line
I guess im the opposite as where I don't mind shine, and prefer the sound of ABS opposed to PBT.

Sound is subjective, shine is objective.
The polyfil really gave it a nice profile. I love your take on what the big brands are trying to accomplish. Great vid as always!

You have the best and the cleanest thumbnail for Keyboard content in RUclips imo

Decent layout (would like a better bottom row), solid sound, interesting switches, CHERRY LIP. Very impressive entry from a gaming brand.
HARD agree. It's so close to being something I'd use on the daily, super solid release.
3:34 I hate how you can see the switches here. The ROG Azoth has this "issue" as well.

Does anyone know what the other visible kb + combination of keycaps (the cream one with Japanese lettering)?

What stabs were used for the mod?

Yeah same. it's a nice keyboard but the switches are just bad. They sound nice and feel nice...when they work, which isn't long.
yep, suffered this problem. had to buy new switches from wuque because the razer orange tactiles gave out within a few months.
Holy shit so good after you mod it
I can't believe you made a Razer board sound good... Wow.

Do the wooting
Everyone saying oh these products are so mean while also spend £300+ on a keyboard and have no rgb 😂
wasn't there interference?
GMK on a razor board. Blasphemy
those switches not for me
Sounds decent, looks are not my cup of tea.
🎉
my streamer no :(
ok new switches and gmk sounds not too bad
