If you're wondering why we were so late...
1) Cousin and I were so drunk before
2) Cousin lost her phone, so we flipped our hotel room trying to find it, and then we ubered to the nightclub and tried find it too🤣 No luck. From club we ubered to airport
3) we arrived 1h15min before departure. check in closes an hour before. We had to wait to do our covid tests. Then more waiting for the result... by the time we got the result it was 45 mins before departure
4) cousin lost her phone so couldn't show vaccine proof (she didn't have a hardcopy)
5) thankfully!!!! She did sent a photo copy of the vax certificate to her mum (my aunt) before just you know, to show that she's vaxxed. So we called her and she scrolled through the sea of texts in their WhatsApp convo to retrieve it. took her 2 mins👍🏻
6) All docs checked and officially checked in half an hour after closing time 🤣 We legit cannot thank the ground staff enough. The guy was so chill and amazing

Good thing you made it, haha! KLM is one of my favorite European airlines however they've been having some issues recently but I believe Schiphol Airport is to blame for those primarily. Good trip report!

I really enjoy the KLM 737. You got the newer cabin that is being rolled out by the look of it. A lot of them still offer the older fabric seats.

Unfortunately a shooting did happen at the bean before 2-3 days before we were there. We were thinking about it the whole time whilst there. But other than that, we enjoyed it very much!

The 737s with the sky interior has a much more relaxing cabin ambience than that of the newer airbus interiors.
Jayden next time you should fly to Townsville in Australia it’s a very beautiful country theme lots of ice cream places so I highly recommend that
Hi Jayden 👋. Glad that you made your flight. One of these days your luck is going to run out. 😱 Hope it will be an "unimportant flight". 🤣. Most likely they show pictures on the outside of the vending machine so that you can decide which one you want before opening the door. Otherwise, as many people do at home, you will hold the door open for some time as you decide what you want. This releases a lot of the refrigerated air and will waste energy. Take care buddy and have a fun weekend.

Cool! I saw on one of your videos that you visited Chicago O'Hare. My cousins recently went Europe on United Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Aer Lingus.
Nice!! Was going to fly Aer Lingus instead but they changed out flights :/

I absolutely love Chicago, it's a fascinating city with so much to do.....great history, the art institute, the great lakes, Sears tower.....and those deep dish pizza's 😂🎉👍🏻

Lived in the USA ... Been many times back since but nvr been to Chicago 😂... I guess I always have this impression it's the windy city it's cold 🥶 etc but it is stunning indeed. Guess becos is summer or late spring? Awesome!

Hi Jayden, I know that certain Countries have very strict rules on sending mobile phones Internationally. I'd say there's a good profit here for sure, but you might be surprised of the cost depending on how it was sent!. If an iPhone you can usually just track it on any other iphone through the satellite to find it!. It should have the location up in a matter of minutes after it was noticed as missing?. Glad to hear she got it back.

As you've seen for yourself Jayden KLM is a good, efficient airline but onboard service is minimal compared to Y class in Asia.
Thanks for watching Alex. Yeah, quite similar to pre-COVID's Virgin Australia to be honest, a few rows of extra legroom and free drinks plus snacks.

haha we both got aisle seats 4C and D. After take off, I moved to row 5DEF, she moved to row 4DEF.
Shame that KLM will retire the planes that they have made a big investment in via refurbishment. Could this be a SkyTeam member thing given Delta did the same thing with their 777s?

Haha yes!! She left it in the uber from the nightclub to the hotel. The driver sent it to her UK home but unfortunately he demanded $250 USD!!!

Jayden, what is the date of your travel in this video?
April 30th at AMS trying to get to SFO(home) was a total disaster with KLM/Air France not able to check people in for on time departures as the line to check in was over 4 hours long.
Of Course KLM is blaming security and immigration for not compensating per EU 261 rules, for the 11 hour time difference to our arrival into SFO. They s…..k.
Schiphol has suffered badly for weeks already. Flight numbers have been capped in an effort to reduce congestion. Today (July 21) KLM was not accepting checked baggage. Travellers only allowed hand luggage ...even when transferring to long-haul flights. The reason ? Major failure of Schiphol's baggage handling systems.
@@alexmcwhirter6611 when I was there on April 30 baggage was not a problem. The problem was KLM/Air France/Delta knew what was going to happen since they only staffed 7 check in agents and the KLM baggage kiosks were functioning at all. Security was not a big hassle nor immigration, it’s was the airline(KLM) not notifying passengers way ahead to get to airport 5 hours early.
@@rickymartinakasgk you were fortunate as you avoided the issues which started the following month. The problems at Schiphol are so bad that many short distance travellers have switched from air to rail. That was confirmed recently by NS (Dutch Railways). Both Thalys and Eurostar (who operate to/from Amsterdam) are struggling to cope with the extra traffic.
@@alexmcwhirter6611 We are going through AMS to Paris in September and plan on the THALYS to get Paris. And their prices have really gone up.
Still trying to get compensation from KLM using EU261 reasoning. KLM replied to me skirting the issue of their bad staffing and blaming security and immigration as the problem then which it was not. Trying to get back to them is impossible it seems.
@@rickymartinakasgk Yes Thalys can be expensive. Thalys is short of rolling stock. It has not received any new TGVs since the late 1990s. Thalys and Eurostar have now merged and SNCF is the major shareholder. Sadly there is little competition within mainland Europe over the high-speed lines. Thalys has held the monopoly on the Amsterdam-Brussels-Paris route since it launched in the 1990s. As for KLM ... well you might find that EU261 is refused as KLM could claim it was a situation outside its control. So maybe best to consult one of these 'no win. no fee' legal firms who deal with claims. Yes I know you would have to hand over part of the compensation if you win but this might be a less stressful experience.
