Jameela Jamil is an actress, TV host and podcaster, known for her role in The Good Place and her podcast ‘I Weigh’. She is widely respected as a vocal advocate for mental health and body positivity. In this episode, Jake, Damian and Jameela discuss the idea that celebrity status and fame is glorified and overrated.
Going through the timeline of her career, Jameela shares how during her most successful years, where she started her own clothing line, featured on billboards and appeared in magazines, she was also chronically ill, lonely and suicidal. Jameela debates what a truly satisfactory life looks like and why everything she thought would make her feel complete and happy in fact did the opposite. She reveals the pivotal moment of illness that forced her to reevaluate her lifestyle and career choices.
Feeling silenced as a South Asian woman, Jameela offers profound insights into the importance of speaking out and advocating for yourself. From her teenage years suffering in silence and grappling with oppressive family dynamics to her vocal battle with diet culture and societal norms, she discusses how she has fought to find her voice. She shares her journey towards self-discovery and empowerment, focusing on the significance of setting boundaries when prioritising mental well-being.
Jameela also shares advice on how to navigate rejection, shame and negative self-talk, encouraging people to embrace their imperfections and focus on happiness above all else. This episode is an exploration of empathy, openness and community.

A very close friend of mine won 3,3 milions euro 2years ago and trust me when i say hes become the happiest person of the world since
Seeing as you are obviously very thick I'll trying and explain. She's talking about people who relentlessly pursue money and power are chasing something unattainable and running from or blocking other things out due to their quest. They are so obsessed with status and wealth they are not truly happy. Nothing ever sates them. More money, bigger houses/yachts/private jets etc.... She's not talking about your mate winning a couple of bob on the lottery who has given up his job and goes on nicer holidays etc...
She’s talking about people who relentlessly chase, money, power and status. Nothing is never enough and in their quest for more money, power and status they are not truly happy. No amount of money or size of plane, house or yacht sates them. She’s not talking about your mate who won a few bob on the lottery and has given up his job and goes on nicer holidays. Clown

@@liammcmonagle7828except there's a Ton of poor people like that.
At least the rich ones don't have as many problems.
Thank you so much for sharing it Jameela.
Huge amount of respect for Jameela.
This is the best podcast episode I’ve ever listening to, so interesting.
What an amazing woman. So insightful and wise. A brilliant watch.
Well said Mum.
She is a moron.
u 🤡
Its insightful to see the viewpoints of someone who walked away from a large amount of money.
What a fantastic person! Thank you 🙏
I loved this interview. I love her openness and I was nodding along in agreement with much of it. I’m not a well known public figure so obviously some wasn’t totally relatable but still relevant. I love this woman more and more as time goes on.
Jamella is such an inspriation, and I dont think Ive ever said that before about any one person. I related to this chat so much, Im trying not to cry! I had block family members so long ago I no longer call them family, we are just related. But damn did it make me feel better!! I speak up for myself almost all the time now and Im currently in the taking action and accountability phase of my progress❤ thank you for allowing her to speak her peice without interruption or leading the conversation. This felt like such a genuine learning experience for us all!
Same ❤
She and you are dumb.
Even though I disagree with a few of her points, I must admit she is brilliant! What a pleasure to enjoy such an insightful conversation 😊
Why so much hate in the comments? Of course it's about her. She is being interviewed in such a way that it's made about her. Stop this toxicity. Just move the fuck on. The internet is a free world. It says more about you and your state of mind that you need to vomit negativity. Work on yourself first folks. Love from a random human being, somewhere in Europe.
Because the men posting it are pricks. Admittedly I haven't read them all but the Gazza video comments are full of "legend" , "brilliant guy", "what a man", "god bless him" "poor guy" etc..... In Gazza we are talking about a guy who bullied younger players in dressing rooms under the guise of "banter", every story from his past has a victim, a guy who ruined his career as he went out his way to injure another player and ruined his own career as he injured himself. On top of all that and more importantly we are talking about a guy who beat up his wife so bad he dislocated her hand and he admitted beating her up for 2 years.
But, a girl who has been asked on to talk about her life is self obsessed, loves herself, seems miserable and can't possibly be happy as she hasn't got or wants fucking kids.
They are just sad men with nothing else to do. One guy watched the whole video and admitted he had no idea who she was. I don't watch any episodes I don't know the person or not interested in them.

@@liammcmonagle7828 A 38 year old fully grown woman stopped being a ''girl'' a hell of a long time ago & for sure, Gascoigne's self confessed sustained criminal assaults on his former wife were & always will be, behaviour of the very worst kind.
Absolutely with you 100%
While I am ok with people airing their views, there is no need for them to get nasty for the sake of being so. Do like her? That’s fine and it’s ok to say, but yeah, I’ve seen those horrid comments and it’s totally unnecessary. Good on you for calling it out.
@@abigailcross624 How nice of you to say that you're '' ok with people airing their views.''
What an incredibly rational and well balanced view of the world. She’s right to call out all the BS, and people do need a sense of humour to get by more harmoniously. Amazing woman!
Funny how you never see an attractive woman date a happy poor guy
Respect
She's absolutely gorgeous 😍
I love this woman, we need more people to listen to her and realise you shouldn't have to constantly censor yourself.
She’s never met a happy billionaire and I’ve never met a woman that was satisfied. Guess those are two anomalies in life.
The amt of comments here saying obscenely rich people ARE happy…. 🤔 as if you genuinely know so many. If thats what you took away from this podcast, you missed the point.
Its a shame for Jamielle she never met me !!!
I'm happy for her being happy. But if you aren't wealthy this advice isn't for you
She doesn't look that happy or even sound particularly happy...
Fuck me. Were u listening?
I’ve meet so many millionaires and one said Amadeus look at my mansion. I’m here alone . Do you think I’m happy? Right now I’m happy your here talking to me. You actually talk to me like a human being. After that he asked me how can you be homeless and so happy and positive and be here alone in Florida from Massachusetts. He’s like you have a gift your not working for this company forever. He said keep that attitude and mindset cause I ask myself everyday how can he do this. I proceeded to overdose in the bathroom 2 months after that and had to be let go because I was a liability. The family were really good people a nice family. Everything happenes for a reason. Mental health is real they don’t want you to know you can heal energy is real . I was told I was wrong for 20 years woke up and the teachers o no you were right. But for 20 years I was wrong? Wait what did you just say? So people profit off of people suffering.
This world is a miserable place in general.
Would I be happy if I was rich? Probably not but I'd more comfortable...
Shes never met a billionaire then
She cut off her family for a decade and did same to old friends till they learn. How cruel and so on trend on social media. Not a worked out person.
Jameela and me had a Twitter fight but then we made up
My ideal woman !
They are happy making money 💰 🤑 💸 😊
Give me a billion and meet me. I'll be happy.
I’d be a happy billionaire 😄
Yeh, I've never met a happy poor homeless depressive addict either. Billion please.
(Need Jamella to call up Vanessa Mae and get her on the show..)
No idea who she is but she seems completely obsessed with her own thoughts, relationships, friends, circumstances
and how she is spoken to and treated.
I think she just has autonomy over her own thoughts and feelings. She seems really secure. I don't like or her or dislike her, I've zero opinion on her, but she seems at ease in herself, where as your comment sounds like you're just seeing what works for you
lol like OMG how dare a woman dares to speak about how she would like to be treated in her relationships and interactions with friends, associates, work colleagues..etc or how she is spoken to;by the same token her rules and boundaries about what she expects or wishes from others I am sure is the same she expects from herself and how she would want to treat others.
"Completely obsessed"? do you not think its important that we all think about how we wish to be treated and in trun how we treat others,to be aware of our own thoughts and feelings and any resentments or hositility we may have towards those but we never say or even acknowledge it.Surely its important to be self aware ,otherwise you might be going around not even noticing how you yourself may feel or think but also how you are treating others, you might be acting rather mindlessly which many of us are.
She has merely learnt to face herself, her feelings and thoughts and what she needs to do in order to be well and happy, sounds extremely wise to me.Maybe you should try it,I'm sure you care about the way people treat you and don't like it when people treat you badly. Its called being a human being and more of us need to notice these things in ourselves.
@@upendasana7857 Yes agree with plenty of that. I just thought it was an odd interview considering the show is called ‘high performance’ and thought the anti capitalist and commune stuff was odd for a woman with very large net worth.
The people on this channel that are famous for something other than sport, seem quite unrelatable. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. I always thought she was insufferable as a presenter but I guess she's just a typical famous person. They live their life in a bubble. Fixated on the online world. Doesn't translate as well as the athletes they have on.
Or as she so delicately puts it '' we need community & love & cuddles & orgasms'' as ONLY a self - pretentious & over indulged daft little trucker would say...
Who?
Ah yes Jameel Jamil, known for her hard work, dedication and high performance.
This podcast is slowly becoming a joke.
You seem a clever chap
Glad I read this, I had a hunch but didn't really know who she was... I'm sure she's nice...
have you ever met a billionaire in RL? lol like ok this video should be taken off the internet because it's like wage theft.
Fit as her
A wee bit narcissistic but sooo hot💙
What a terrible take lol
Hint - when a 38 year old childless woman says she's at her happiest, she probably isn't.
Hint - Bryan with a Y - when any man comments on any women's age, child status and happiness he's never met - is not a happy man.
Yes indeed & even worse, she has also now left the Kevin Samuels ''danger zone'' for ALL childless & single women aged between 27 & 35, although on a positive note, she is reported to have a steady partner.....
Very boring....a billionaire didn't want you.....just understand ur old news...... DON'T do drugs people....... COCAINE is Bad 👍
The really fake jake ,, rio,'Zzzzzz best buddy on bt .
Lol happiness is for losers, Winners run billion dollar businesses 🤑🫡
I wish her well🏌🏻
