- Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone breaks the 400mh world record for the 5th time while at the US Olympic Trials and makes her 3rd Olympic Games at just 24. Is she on pace to be a better track athlete than Usain Bolt?
the difference between bolt and syd is that she’s focusing on a way undeveloped event with little too no competition vs bolt who dominated a highly competitive event so i don’t believe syd has passed bolt in goat status as she’s kinda sandbagging the 400m hurdles
You guys don't understand how great Bolt was . He dominated the 100m and 200m for 12 years straight winning gold in all his olympic games and world championships.

Only Sydney stans would even think of comparing this woman to Bolt. As good as she is, she's dominant in a single event. Bolt has world records in the 100, 200 and 4×100. And let's not forget that the 100m is the blue ribbon event of track and field. A 400 hurdler is not going to be the face of the sport. Certainly not one with zero charisma.
You guys do realize Sydney has only ever won 2 individual gold medals in her career and 1 individual WR and only competes in one event. Bolt won 13 individual gold medals and set 2 individual WRs. This comparison is just laughable. She isn't even the greatest 400m huddler. That title still belongs to dalilha Muhammed.
Sydney isn't even as great as noah lyles who has won 4 individual gold medals so far.
Looks past the world records she keeps setting in the same event. She really hasn't won that much stuff.

Bolt comparisons given his Medals/WRs/longevity in 2 individual events are wild! Syd needs to pull off the rare 400m/400mH double at least once @WC/Olympics! Btw, Syd would've finished 6th (not 4th) in the W400m Final with her 50.65 400mH WR just ahead of Isabella Whittaker's 50.68 (would've needed a 50.06 WR to finish 4th). Wouldn't go as far as the 100m, but Syd would absolutely give Sha'Carri a race in the 200m if she trains for it! If she wants to, Syd can definitely run sub 11s 100m, sub 22s 200m, sub 12.5s 100mH, low 48s 400m & low/sub 50s 400mH WR - crazy amount of range! Easy to forget that Syd also long jumped 6.29m when she was 17yrs old (compared to specialists Mihambo 6.40m & Tara Davis 6.41m around the same age). Could probably long jump close to 7m if she took it up again & run a sub 2min 800m! Also, Athing Mu if she wants to can run low 22s 200m, low 48s 400m, sub 1.53m 800m WR, sub 4m 1500m & sub 4.20m Mile, a ridiculous amount of range from the 200m to the Mile!

This sounds like desperacy to me. No offence. Bolt dominated three events at the world championships and Olympics. He also holds the world record in three events. Bolt ran the world record in both the 100 and 200 after running 4 rounds each. This new generation are only running three rounds. Kmt.

Im not sure if either of these young men ran track before but its physically impossible to create the distance at the professional level with the 100 meters or 200 meters that you can during 400. But to put into perspective Usain 9.58 to Noah 9.83...3 hundredths of second is "smoking"...like if they were on the same track Noah wouldnt even be close to Usain. 19.19 Usain 200...Noah is 19.31..come on yall. Sydney will go down in history but to say a 2 time Olympic championship is better than Usain who competed in a span of time of FOUR Olympics. Sydney is undoubtedly an all time great but what Usain Bolt did is unparalleled. Longevity, degree of difficulty, level of competition etc advantage Bolt on all of them

She isn't winning the 200m. This people are delusional. Just because someone is great in one event doesn't mean it will translate to another event. Shaunae is a much much better 400m sprinter than Sydney are she could never crack the 200m
