Typical response froma Michael Jordan then. Anytime someone doesn't agree they start assuming things. Everybody scored on Mj I agree, but also MJ scored on everybody back then and maybe more than anyone else. Was glide a great basketball player? Sure he was, and he was alot better then most people know. But what separates MJ from all the rest is just his mentality to win, even when he lost , his mentality stayed always the same. I know you don’t like Jordan so much like most people do but take the stats from his 15 healthy seasons, say 14 without the broken foot and compare them with the any other player, you’ll see a major difference, also mj stats in the 80’s was more spectacular than the 90’s because anyone else around him was complete garbage. He did it al on offensive and defensive end and that became his killer mentality to win. But he needed a fitting puzzle like anyone else!
But trying to say that clyde was better than Mj. Come on man!! Every clip you post is negative about Mj, the man doesn’t play for 25 years and the man is still most people s goat!! That says alot , remember that!!!

Notice how he said yes if one guy takes 20 shots and another takes 30 shots of course he'll have better numbers. Then he said he did other stuff on the court as well. Clyde was not near the defender jordan was. Jordan had 5 seasons where he averaged more steals per game then drexler did in his best season. Jordan had 4 seasons where he averaged at least 1 block per game. Drexler had none. For their career Jordan averaged 6.2 rebounds and drexler averaged 6.1. Jordan did all of this while averaging 10 more points per game. Let's not even get into playoff numbers.

MJ's my G.O.A.T., but Clyde should feel like he was the best player on earth; at all times! There's no competitor, if you're unable to believe in yourself and your ability and your dedicated WORK towards being the best. You be perfectly honest, Clyde couldn't have won it all in MJ's spot, but MJ would've dominated even more with Clyde's Portland squads. I do feel Clyde was a better teammate, but he was 2nd best SG if Mitch Richmond isn't 100% healthy. Those guys shared #2. It's no different than comparing Olajuwan & Ewing. Both were skilled elite Center's, but Dream was the special athlete between them. They battled, but only 1 is a Champion. Same position, both great players in the same era, but one is simply a better athlete, more fundamentally sound, and able to dominate on demand. Clyde could carry his team you beat everyone but MJ....and Both played great ball vs the other. Both knew they'd be FOULED in the paint...almost everytime. Clyde lacked the raw athleticism to thrive in this era at SG, but he'd be a great SF. MJ would be the best SG on earth in any era because he was that well-balanced and explosive and maniacally motivated. Imagine Mike facing soft defense over 82-games? The man averaged 30 for his career getting put on his a** on a regular basis.😂😂😂

But go look at the numbers...in the finals Drexler only shot like 40.7% while MJ shot almost 52.6% so there goes that. Next Jordan never shot 35 times a game, he shot almost 53% he didn't need that many shots, people always over look Jordan's high level of efficiency that was one thing that made him so good he scored so efficiently. So by the numbers Jordan shut Drexler down and while Drexler couldn't slow Jordan down....so no you couldn't hold your own not with him anyway.

After almost 30 years now I know why Drexler performance declined from the 1991-92 season to the next. It was a knee injury that he had during the dream team summer. He was not the only one affected by that. Participating in Olympics does not come for free.

I was all over the NBA back in the 80s and 90s… Not only that but a lifelong Chicagoan… And I didn’t miss a single game, until MJ played for the Wizards… I will say this, Clyde Drexler was one dimensional,a slasher with a nice jumper, a poor ball handler, like MJ neither made their teammates better(Scottie Pippen for the Bulls/Terry Porter for the Blazers had that role)….MJ was clearly the best defender in the NBA for many season(if not MJ,Pippen or Gary Payton in the 90s)… Give Portland credit for many years they had a very versatile highflying team, In 86 they were the only team to go into Boston Garden and beat the Celtics… However when you game plan against Portland, you didn’t solely focus on stopping Drexler, he got a lot of easy buckets and garbage points… While teams were out to cut MJs throat every night… In spite of it all,Jordan had around a 50% career average…For example, Kobe has always played with a talented big man(Who kept the defense honest),yet his career shooting percentage is fairly low…MJ has never played with a talented Big or a bunch of versatile players!

No elite competitor is gonna admit someone else is better than them. That’s the nature of competition. Clyde was awesome. And very underrated. Top 3 SG though he’s really a SF. And he’s maybe superior to MJ as far as in game dunkers. It’s arguable. But player to player, it’s not close. It’s MJ and then further down that list we get to the Kobe’s Wades and Drexlers.

Heck; even Kobe is a level or two above Clyde. But I certainly don't knock or malign the Glide for thinking of himself so highly. You _have_ to at the rarified levels that these men occupied.
