Your player lessons are so good. I’ve watched a bunch of them and you’re very talented at helping each player from there they are. He sounded like golf felt like a begrudging chore at the beginning and then finally had some fun at the end. If I ever get to AZ I’ll def do a live lesson.
Milo... the "up the line" view of your swing in the beginning of the video......very valuable.....more of this ...very few use it but I found it valuable.
My issues are EXACTLY like the players flaws in this video. I have spent thousands on lessons and clubs and unfortunately haven't received advice even similar to the instruction Milo just gave this student. I am changing my plans for this morning right now and hitting the driving range instead. I will be rewatching this video when I get there and I will let you know how the session goes .
This is so relevant to my problems with pulls, and thin / topped / fat iron shots, and topped fairway woods. Thanks so much.. I always found that trying to fix the pull by swinging in and out to the right always produced a thin shot. Your explanation really helps. I am going to concentrate on staying in posture and getting that left shoulder under. Really looking forward to getting better ball striking...I so enjoy your teaching style...Loved how you said hunch over! Yes, I've always found trying to get that iron straight back very uncomfortable and unnatural...
Amazingly at about 10:15, when the student is talking about making that turn he does a pretty good job of it. Good job improving his game. I don't blame him for the attitude, I was hitting most clubs way to close to the same distance, and it absolutely sucked.
His swing looked 100% better at the end . You put the information over so well , enjoyed watching that , my posture was a little the same way , I'm going to try that posture drill . Thankyou 👏
My new favorite golf instruction channel! I have been straight backed with chest poked out since I started. Cant wait to get home to practice this posture. Found you through Be Better Golf
I realise no one may be checking the comments after all this time, but the joy of Jay's and Milo's lesson was, as well as Jay rediscovering the pleasure of golf, he ended up looking far more athletic and powerful. He even looked like a different person. There's more to helping someone than just getting the job done, and I could see how happy Milo was, as well as Jay.
It’s something the old timers did well, Snead, Nicklaus, hogan etc etc. when Scott and woods came on the scene it became all about rim rod straight back setups.
Hi Milo, enjoyed the lesson. I also have flexibility issues and am 65 but was wondering if that pivot can put strain on the lower back when the 'sticks' touch?
Great lesson to show how important posture is. I believe I’ve got the same incorrect model of straight back and shoulders pinned back. I hit pulls way off the course a lot and it’s a total score wrecker. ‘Sloppy’ posture might look less aesthetically pleasing but the results say different. I gotta try this.
@@MiloLinesGolf Hi Milo, I hit some balls yesterday and checked my posture so it felt similar to what you'd done with our man in the video. Still pulling the ball like crazy though. About 3 of 5 shots head left with the longer clubs especially. I can sort of fix this by steepening my shoulders but something's not right. You had a throwaway line in the lesson about hand path and that's something I need to investigate further. Getting the club to shallow rather than steepen in transition and a downswing hand path that is generally more vertical so the hands don't go out. I tend to get way too excited from the top and hit at the ball with my arms. Other things to check are: Upper body tilt at address/tilting towards the target rather than away? Ball position too far forward with irons? Easy game ...
@@marcusjohnson488 check out Milo's lesson with Brendon from BBG. Hands tend to go out too soon when they start the downswing causing pulls. Focus on feet pressures starting the downswing and watch Milo's drill ruclips.net/video/XnYhTrPSzM4/видео.html
@@guitar1950 Hi Dave, thanks for that. I’ve seen that lesson. It’s great. When I tried the one two drill at the range, I was flushing it. Great contact and no thin shots, which is my tendency. Also did the feet together drill. I think part of this is the difference between the old school swing theory I grew up with (toe up back and toe up through with very active rotation of the hands and arms) vs the newer teacher like Milo ( body swing with passive hands). When I try to match the face to my turn, it feels shut and I feel like it’s going to go left. But I’m gradually learning to experiment and change my concept. Need to hit more balls. Then, when I play, don’t think about any of this stuff and just swing.
So Milo - the hips should stay relatively level? I have been incorporating your lessons and you are easily the best instructor. Like GG but you make sense, lol. I think I have been angling my hips on the backswing too much. Do they stay level in the through swing? Or do they gain angle when you swing through? Thanks for all of your lessons! Amazing stuff.
Milo, great video thanks for sharing. One thing I struggle with, is that my hips seem to turn much to early when i just try and move the shoulders and keep the triangle. Should I try and restrict the hips at the start and then let them flow?
Grip way down on the club and have the butt end pinned against your core, around your navel, then turn it back together, this can be a good practice to sync it up in the backswing. Thanks Kevin!
Milo, when attempting to TOW the club through impact by flattening the club and leading with left hip, can a shank be caused by not getting very deep in the right hip on the backswing. If you don't get deep in the right hip along with the shoulders when you turn back to the ball you could cut across with an open face causing a low shank/fade? Does that make sense? Are there other causes of the shank (not off the hosel) that keeps popping up every 5 or 6 swings. Thanks!!!
@@MiloLinesGolf I love you Milo, that's why I watch your videos. They are interesting and I'm learning stuff from you but I have never played golf and probably never will.
Hey 👋 Milo, from this video I decided to sign up for your monthly subscription on your website 👍! Sending in my swing videos real soon! Good stuff and exactly what I’ve been trying to work on lately. Question 🙋🏼♂️ though, getting in the more relaxed and “slumped” set up position and trying to get a shoulder turn like you were exhibiting, I find that it brings me out more on my toes and feels like my weight is more forward when turned back fully. I must be doing something wrong? Do I need to Purposely feel myself sitting back into my heels a top of the shoulder turn? 🙏 Thanks!
As the club gets longer, the tilt decreases slightly and the ball gets a bit further away. The swing essentially gets a bit flatter. Would have to see what is causing it in your situation.
@@MiloLinesGolf Yes definitely helps. One thing I don't understand is why the slump? I thought we were supposed to do the opposite? To maintain a straight back?
*Still fighting your instructions with that high left shoulder IMHO! But manipulation of the inside plane is making it work, if he succumbed to tilting that left shoulder to the ball or back to the target scenario in his head this should be even easier for him physically.*

As your shoulders turn steeper your backside should move deeper
How did fixing his posture and pivot improved his face angle not just path?
The face was shutting down too much with his previous pattern, at the end it was coming through more stable.
How can I schedule a 1 HR lesson with you Milo?
Through my website, milolinesgolf.com.
What's the trick for woods, I can do this with irons but still pull slice my woods. Very frustrating.

Great lesson Milo, but use a tablet to film your students. It is so much easier to watch the videos...

Depends on what the student wants. But generally 2 hour swing work and an hour around the green and an hour putting
