    Your 100percent correct about overthinking when soloing. Sometimes I listen to old tapes off.myself and solols sound better. Not to technical. Just have more feel to them. Thanks for doing what you do. 👍👍👍👍

    Cam you are my kind of player. I’ve realized I don’t have time to sit and learn theory all day and I just want to be a better rock guitar player. I just need more licks. It doesn’t look like you focus on theory too much but instead use licks and phrases you’ve learned from songs into your own playing. That’s my new short term goal. Please keep posting licks and phrases that you think transformed your playing. It helps me so much man

  • @mikeythedistasteful
    @mikeythedistasteful 5 лет назад +3

    Great stuff. Lately I’ve been focusing on creating simpler melodic/rhythmic phrases a lot but this kinda stuff helps add flare to all that. Simple ideas are good for outlining your solo but it sounds too traditional if that’s all you do, you gotta add some sparkle to it once in a while. These kinda runs are the perfect complement to what I’m working on right now, cheers!

    I so want that sparkle Charvel. Where did you find that!!!!

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  5 лет назад +1

      They're a really rare limited edition model that was launched in 2015. Very hard to find now however. I am aware that they only 90 of these silver ones were ever made. There was also an Orange Flake San Dimas which is also very hard to find.

    • @MrJetavana
      @MrJetavana 5 лет назад +1

      Check out the fender black top series in silver. Not exactly the same but they look pretty cool too. Plus they use amp knobs instead of the standard tone knobs. Gives it kinda bad ass look.

      @@CameronCooper Thanks for replying. Meant as a compliment. Im trying to learn from your teaching and its working and I appreciate that. Your instruction is helping me to be more fluid and grounded. Ive been basically kinda of a 'feeling' type guitarist, nothing is ever the same, especially lead licks... The way you do things makes it look easy (your an excellent player, imo) and it always is inspirational, so Im going to keep plugging along with you and see what develops. Thanks. Keep this stuff coming, I really dig it!

    Also I would watch your videos 2x as much If you taught in standard tuning. I can understand some certain songs being taught in Eb but most of us just have standard tuning

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  4 года назад +1

      If you're in standard tuning when learning from a lesson taught when tuned down half a step down shouldn't stop you. All you need to do is put your fingers and play in the same spot. It will just come out a semi-tone higher on your guitar :)

      @@CameronCooper I was just about to make a new comment on watching this again - then I was like, wait the fingers are- hmm yeah you must be tuned down 1/2 step. LOL I was on search for good practice riffs to use. i was searching and searching and I was like, oh this must be the one.
      I first discovered you video playing the Yamaha Revstar and then I just wanted to subscribe. Thanks for all of your great video content.
