With rain expected, this race will provide a lot of surprises... Can't wait Saturday
Elias Zottos There's roughly 15% chance to rain at 8pm when quali & race is hold. If it rains its sadly gonna be most likely at night or in morning, but with some luck the track might be wet when the race starts like last year.
'If you are a reflexive sliding Carlos Sainz or Romain Grojean type drivers you gonna make mistakes...' lol
even in f1 2017 sainz keeps crashing
If you mean the F1 hot lap video, then notice you don't know the car setup in the game, you don't know if he's familiar with PC simulator, and you don't know if one (including you) can drive well when he needs to think about what to say about the track at the same time.
If you are judging a F1 driver by his level of sim racing, then many sim racers on RUclips should've been driving for Mercedes already.
@@accidentian in rl i would totally suck, but im decent at talking and playing f1 at the same time
@@accidentian I don't think anyone's talking about the hotlap. Everyone knows that codemasters games are nothing like an actual sim and most drivers suck at it because of how different it is from real life. The guy in the video is taking about the driving styles of the drivers, how sainz and grosjean like to take a corner with understeer
+Insane Zombieman Quote from Freddo: 'even in f1 2017 sainz keeps crashing' I'm talking about this.
Hey guys can't wait for Friday cause I'm watching live
I don't think the Mercs can do well here
this is Ferrari's race to lose
When you have a driver like Hamilton, every thing is possible, taking into consideration the huge amount of pressure on Ferrari's shoulders and especially Vettel
I would agree with you... BUT we said the same thing in Monza, so I'm just going to wait and see on this one.
Did you see last years race? Said the same thing then. Actually every year that’s said.
Go Bulls!
Brilliant
as the most successful driver ever around Singapore it should be vettels to lose but we'll see. Friday will be interesting, but it's a track where he drivers increase their speed slowly so I think only in Q1 will we really see who's looking good for pole. FP2 in Singapore i always watch since it looks spectacular.
They host the event at night because it's too hot to race in the afternoon
I really like Monaco and Singapore. Quali is important. I mean it’s also good to have this kind of tracks. Monza is like drs overtaking.. That’s fun….
Thought this video would be straightforward but it turned out brilliant. I'd never heard about the Mark Weber electrical interference, an amazing coincidence of bad luck and technology when you think about it. And this is the first time I've heard drivers' characteristics categorised so well and compared to the style of track.
Love those breakdowns!
Never knew that about Webber's 2008 race there, what bad timing!
One of the most enjoyable circuits to drive. BTW, why are they still applying the standard full race distance of approximately 305 km rather than Monaco's circuit-specific one (260 km), which is applied there precisely to minimize the risk of exceeding the two-hour limit? Wouldn't it be better to utilize this same exception to the rule for the Marina Bay Street Circuit as well, which would lead to a reduction in the total number of laps by around 14 (from 61 to 47)? Even a reduction of 8-10 laps would decrease the risk of not being able to reach the full distance within the two-hour window quite a bit.
Qualifying predicitons: Vettel for p1 for surelike last year, max p2 but he is still using the C-spec renault engine from last race, not sure about the reliability of that engine in the actual race. Hopefully it will be close!
What happens if the circuit lights turn off mid-race?
Then the race would actually be interesting
Changeable conditions are expected all weekend.
Hope vettel and Ferrari wins 1 N 2!
Watching this before 2019 race
AceRay 24 when is it?
Could it be Kimi’s turn? Seems plausible
May be, Vettel & Hamilton clashes, Kimi bring the car home safely & you are No1!!!
Dude the Andersons bridge was completed and named in 1910. not named after some WW2 hero
F1 is becoming more like watching Scalextric every year.
Yeah the race is alright but not the best for the night race can think of multiple better nighties
Like it for virtual racing sorta meh for actual racing.
In a perfect world, Ferrari P1 and P2. Red Bull P3..... Mercedes DNFs.
Please rain!!!!!!!!!!!
Max is gonna get youngest ever pole. Mark my words
We almost did it buddy.
Boring race. Endless 90° turns
90 degree turns are shit
Nelson Piquet Jr is a shame to Brazilian people! He's done that in favour of another driver. I'ts still wrong anyway, but he didn't even get benefited in the grand scheme of things.
Need Verstappen to crash into Hamilton for once.
I hate this race. In fact it should not be called a race because there's no racing taking place.
The exact same equally applies to Monaco as well, and even more so than to this venue.
Second
The most pointless, boring and lacking any personality of the current modern race tracks.
I am pretty sure it is going to be more exciting that the spa borefest this season
Not gonna bother on sunday, never watched race there, never will. True fans avoid !
There is no single corner in this toilet of a track.
@@stinkbandit enjoy pal, I'm gonna point my attention towards BSB at fabulous Oulton Park this weekend. And watch GGG vs Canelo 2.
Hamilton's due a retirement, I'm betting it will be this one
please retaiin ocon for 2019 and remove the whole ferrari team from f1. thank you, bye.
"Who gets in front the very first lap has a good chance of winning the race"... Boring asf! Street circuits suck.
You have never driven an f1 car in a street circuit to say that i would suggest playing maybe some asseto corsa in monaco and you will trully appreciate the beauty of some street circuits
Manos Frantzas Driving or playing a game is completely different from watching a race. It's pretty boring and non-competitive when the first car that makes it out of the turn1 first wins the race 99% of the time w/ zero overtaking in a damn race. It's not even remotely entertaining to watch these street circuits in F1!
Looks like rain on saturday and sunday....😁
Guust actually its just at night :/ There's roughly 5-10% chance to rain at 8pm Singapore's time when the race & quali is hold.
Now it looks like its hot and hazy
1:19 That field's called the _Padang_ ('field' in Malay/Indonesian, & there's an Indonesian city of the same name too), & it hosts the country's anniversary concert/National Day Parade every 5 years too
This track is probably super fun to drive, just like Monaco. But there is unfortunately no racing happening on these street circuits.
Where did u get the impression this shithole is fun to drive ? And what gave u the idea of comparison to Monaco ?
I got that impression from driving it in rFactor 2. And I compare it to Monaco since they are both street circuits that are very narrow.
@@leonbetz5156 you contradict your second comment with word "probably" in your original comment. There is nothing that resembles Monaco in this dump, apart of the guardrails if that's enough for you. There is not a single corner ! Monaco is beautifully organic dream to drive. Its got everything, beautiful corners, amazing elevation and every corner is totally different. This place is a headache.
If you want an advice, watch British SuperBikes this weekend mate. Its at Oulton Park, beautiful place and great racing series. Another races worth to follow this weekend, WSBK, Indycar, V8 Supercars or Super GT. And avoid that garbage in Singapore mate.
It is fun to drive though? In the F1 games the layout provides a pretty nice flow. There was also a version of it in rFactor 2 (pretty sure it was a mod) that was really fun too.
+dr. Apexx No I do not contradict myself with the word "probably" since I have never personally been to both of the mentioned tracks and especially have never driven an F1 car in real life. That means I cannot judge it but only assume. And I generally don't like your tone, you think your opinion somehow matters more just because of the use of condescending language.
I hope it's not a boring race
It will be
Zephirot080 hahah dude i have the exact same words.
@@laddaevolta The saying goes that the more we expect boredom the better it is....
Procession
There will be next to zero overtakes on this track just like Monaco
I hope Malaysia circuit is back to f1. As Malaysian, I will go to singapore because its the nearest to my country
Exciting! what circuit
"Reflexive drivers" I like that kind of commentary - current TV programming doesn't really show driver's style much
I'd have liked to see a DRS zone between turns 13 and 14
"Another of those circuits on which it's virtually impossible to overtake"
There's not much overtaking on circuits that have plenty of room, so how is that a problem?
That's because there's really only one line around every track. They can make the corner 50m wide but there's only a narrow path that's actually quick. So narrow or wide, overtaking is going to be very difficult. I like tight twisty tracks like Monaco and Singapore.
Much of Singapore's circuit is ~4 lanes wide & thus not that narrow; I think the issue is the lack of run-off areas for much of the circuit increasing the risk of collision when overtaking
I live in Singapore and there is no such elevation
lol
Horrible racetrack. The Oriental tracks suck, except maybe Suzuka.
This track is absolute garbage
Claudio Jaramillo amen
Much like monaco
@@merlinbotha363 indeed. The only thing that keeps Monaco going is heritage tbh. And the fact that most drivers live there
Add it to the list containing Albert Park, Sochi, Mexico, Yas Marina, Paul Ricard, Baku, Circuit of the Americas and China
@@merlinbotha363 how is this any similar to Monaco ? MC is absolute thrill to drive. Together with Suzuka and Francorchamps 3 best courses in the calendar for decades.
My gripe with this track is that it feels like they are racing among abandoned warehouses in an abandoned dock. The the track could use "something" that would make it feel like they are actually racing in the city center.
you can clearly se the shyscrapers behind the race track
I don't think that is even possible or allowed, but T10-T13 is practically right next to it though.
The fuck you on about
90 degree turns all around. They should bring back India and Korea. Waaaayy better than these kinds of tracks.
First
It's a horrible track
