Yeah, same here, and I live in area which is very EV friendly. Five Teslas, two Lucids, a Rivian and a CyberTruck within a couple of small blocks and I’ve yet to see one of these. Just the specs of this terrifies me to the typical, at once distracted as well as perpetually aggrieved owner and gleefully threatening to mowing down other drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians in their 10k lb SUV hauling nothing but air and one driver.
I love that about the Hummer honestly. Makes me want one even more! Hummer has been out longer and every time I see one I catch myself starring, I’m _already_ tired of seeing the ugly Tesla Cybertruck though. I think that speaks volumes for the design language.
Admittedly I really like these. There’s a few around where I live and they look awesome especially in that green launch color. Downsides are the price obviously, width, and lack of trunk space for how big it is - luckily you get a useable frunk.
@@ChristmasEve777 they’re cool rigs for sure, the most common place Ive seen them is at the local “boujee” gym. Im sure theyre capable in all environments, but the majority of owners are just gonna use them to commute and run errands. I wouldnt take any vehicle with wheels over 18” off road anyway, too much risk there IMO, hopefully yours has the off road package not the big wheels and street tires like this one in the video.
I think the interior materials in this model make sense. Seems like the intention is durability and ruggedness. I don’t think it should have a leather or soft dash. Having sat in one, nothing looks or feels offensive by any means.
You’d think the reviewer understood this especially after discussing the idea that GMC nailed the interior concept for making things big, masculine, and rugged - since it’s a *Hummer.*
I'd rather have this than the Cybertruck honestly. But I still just see this Hummer as a "hey I've got one, you don't" purchase. Some neat features, but not practical for everyday use. Definitely not a daily driver at all. I think the word I'd use is "overpriced". But that's expected these days with pretty much everything. But still, super cool vehicle.
Not sure why these are not selling. There are 6 of them right now sitting in the lot at my local dealership ship and they’ve not been sold 4 months…Crazy because this was such a hyped vehicle when GM first introduced it.
@@reduxith that, and not to mention the public is still not fully sold on EVs, especially one that weighs enough to chew through two sets of expensive tires and brake pads each year....
@@jeffb.6642 EVs don’t go through brake pads like ICE cars do, most of the braking is done via regenerative braking. I do agree with you on the tires though, definitely will eat through tires quicker than average seeing how it weighs more than a F-350.
I test drove two Hummer EVs before landing on a Denali Ultimate 6.2. I figured next time I’ll go EV (maybe). I loved everything about the Hummer but I will say the roof panel rattles at least on the one I drove was BAD. Even the salesman was stating he found it unacceptable as well.
Honestly if I win the lottery this would be my go to first purchase I love it, but gm really need to dial in that toque steer that will put a lot of people off, and that digital rear view badly needs to be bigger
Honest question here, with this truck being 9,000 lbs, does this mean that in a rollover the battery will pancake 🥞 the truck and everyone inside becomes strawberry jam??? 9,000 lbs though!!!!!!
I’d like to see a crash test by IIHS where they run this hummer into a compact sedan driver side at 60mph to simulate the sedan pulling out in front of the hummer not anticipating the hummers ability to rapidly accelerate. I imagine if the hummer is squatting down under hard acceleration the bumper will line up perfectly to the crash dummy’s head in the compact sedan.
I get the feeling GM is willing to do *anything* to make sure crash tests (or even real crash reports) involving this thing never see the light of day. It's a cool vehicle but it frightens me to know anyone with a down payment and a driver's license (which in the US, basically only requires you to have a pulse) could be throwing one of these down the interstate alongside those of us in cars that only weigh a third what this does.
At the price point, there should be NO rattles. At all. I kind of love the fact that this thing exists, and I'd love to own one, but paying that amount of money and then having cheap materials and rattles everywhere would make me hate the thing sooner than later. I like the design language overall, but some of it just doesn't make sense...like the shifter. It's an EV, with a futuristic theme. WTF is a floor shifter (with NO transmission) from the 1990s doing in this thing? Look at the room in the center console that thing takes up, which could've been put to much better use. Foolish decision on GM's part....as were the removable glass tops. Just make a solid roof...with NO glass in it. Add some sound-deadening material and a head liner, and poof, half the rattles are gone and it's quieter in the cabin. Smh.
He ragged about rattles the entire review. Apparently that’s the only thing he can complain about so that’s what he tried his best to make the review about except we didn’t hear much of any rattling that the microphone picked up so I could imagine he’s being pretty dramatic to complain about the rattles his ear is picking up over the road noise. They’re removable glass panels the rattles have nothing to do with the price point of the vehicle neither is that a representation of quality.
Another nitpicky review of the Hummer EV complaining about the materials not being soft, luxurious, and expensive enough for a *all terrain* oriented vehicle. It’s a *gm* so expect rattles and creaks n the roof? That’s the best advice you have to offer your viewers? This is ridiculous. If you want air at your face it’s quite poss with the massive bronze painted vertically integrated air vents, but of course you try to make an issue out of no real issue for anyone. Why these reviewers think we aren’t paying attention to their biases is truly beyond me.
