On Friday May 17 at 229 The Venue in London an event took place, entitled 'Saluting The Black President' paying tribute to the late great Fela Anikulapo Kuti and celebrating the re-packaging and re-release of his entire catalogue on Knitting Factory Records. A number of illustrious artists were invited to give their interpretations of Fela songs, backed by the inimitable Dele Sosimi and his Afrobeat Orchestra.
These songs are being exclusively streamed on Okay Africa and simultaneously placed on Fela's official RUclips channel / fela

Not really any point Ginger being there really apart from maybe to sell a few tickets! Baker plays over Allen's solo... Great rock drummer but he plays African music and jazz like a builder!
