    I would love to see a video with your wardrobe picks for going into spring. Stores are so full of new season clothes it’s a bit overwhelming. Specially when you are on a budget and trying to choose some key pieces that will carry you through the season in a stylish way. Xoxo

    It may not technically be a fashion statement but getting your hair done is a great way to look younger. Instead of doing the same hair style you have had for years - change it up. You feel great and it takes off years.

      cinful65 Hair is the biggest age teller. So many women have overly processed hair and a 'do from their 20's or 30's that no longer works.

      I can always tell someone's age from behind by their hair ( the condition and style) before I see their face it .can make a big difference if you get it right

    Great tips! At 65 with gray hair I can use many of these but I can’t wear the beiges and brownish neutrals with my white/gray hair. I’m building a capsule wardrobe around black/gray/white with pops of color.

    Erin, Great advise! I use all these tips every day and they work!
    I live in my jeans!
    I think older 60-year-old women like myself definitely need to stay on top of current jean trends to stay looking young, fresh, and modern! Also, the off the shoulder cold shoulder trend is perfect for us old gals! LOL, 1, because our shoulders don't sag! 2, its one of the only parts of my older body that still looks good. 3, keeps you nice and cool when having a hot flash! 4, it's an on-trend right now, so I say rock this look all as much as possible!
    LOL, Spanks are a girl's best friend!
    I think no matter how old we are we can look modern, classy, and yes sexy!

    Hi Erin. Great video as always! I think women should not be pushed to wear grandma style once they reach certain age! Yes, I do want to look and feel younger! It all depends on a mindset. Some people are old at 30! Some look and feel vibrant and modern at 70! Thanks a lot! Enjoyed as always.

  • @367Play
    @367Play 5 лет назад +4

    Fun video, Erin! Recurring tip running thru is keep something about your look modern and currant. We can keep wearing our classic quality pieces but the overall look has to be fresh. Be it with the way we pair things, the sunglasses, hairstyle, shoes, belt,,something has to say “now” “today” ,,,not “i wore this same look in 2000”. We look old when we don’t change anything. I have a lot of “old” pieces that I wear a lot but I definitely don’t wear them paired aka styled the same way as when I bought them. You, Erin, will always look young 😊

    • @BusbeeStyle

    Thanks for the inspirational video Erin. I find that anything “tired” looking is aging when I’m out and about people watching. I always buy new tee shirts and keep the old favs for gardening. Even tee shirt proportions change over the seasons. Few of us over 50 look “fresh” in ripped jeans, especially when carrying a bit of extra weight. The newer jeans almost always have more stretch and forgiveness with less bag and sag. Updating to some good fitting, clean lined, jeans is your top idea, in my opinion. I noticed in your video that very few of your recommendations were “busy” or prints, which can be aging if not well thought out. So many tops in the stores seem to be loud or busy “accent pieces” that one can easily tire of, so I’m recommending that ladies who want to get a Basics wardrobe going revisit your video on that topic. Great job!

      I am 73 and, while I do love my neutrals, I own a few tops/blouses that have some color and they always make my complexion look better! I even own a sweater/coat that is in a mustard/cream/black large plaid, that I get so many compliments on. However, I never wear black next to my face. I think that can look aging. Try a trendy piece in a color and you might find it works :)

    I think the right make up look can help make someone look fresh and youthful, such as a wash of one eyeshadow shade versus seven different colors! When I see you-tubers in their twenties do a tutorial with seven different eye shadows compared to a tutorial with just one or two, I feel as though the more the eye shadow, the older they look. With one or two colors, they look fresh and youthful. I’m 44 and I stick with one or two shades!

    Great video today, Erin! Listing your points below enables me to take screen shots of your lists! Very helpful! I'm "57 & holding!" My grandaughter asked, Gammi, What is "and holding?" I want to be stylish, but not try to look like a teenager or a 20-something! Most people think I'm about 15 yrs younger than I am. Who am I to "correct" them!😏 I agree that attractive (on you) sunglasses are great! I ALWAYS wear them outdoors! Rx even! My hair stylist keeps my hair up to date. I'm learning from videos like yours how to combine classic clothes with something with a modern twist/look. To me, a couple of things that do not look good as we age are the overly distressed jeans with huge holes, 😖 and wearing thin leggings as pants ... especially with a short tee shirt! 😟🙈 Thanks for your hard work & great style tips❣ 💞💞💓

    I love all these tips, Erin! In my case, wearing turtlenecks just accentuate the jowls on my face, so I have a difficult time trying to hide my neck. You can't always wear a scarf, and most choker necklaces are too heavy. Also, I have a small frame, but a large (34G) bust and the Soma bras do not fit me. I also went there to look for a swim suit once and couldn't find anything that fit on top. The Chantelle brand at Nordstrom are the only bras that work for me. A couple of years ago, I was a 32G and that was even harder to find! A lot of brands don't carry those sizes. I am 73, and and my bust size has increased over the years (and for other women, as well) while not gaining more weight. I've been measured at Soma and other places, but Nordstrom was the only one that was correct. I follow so many of your tips, Erin, so keep them coming!!

  • @npalmercreek1
    @npalmercreek1 5 лет назад +6

    Hi Erin. Thanks for the tips. A comment about sunnies -all sunnies are not the same quality, but there is an easy way to tell if you have good quality sunnies or cheap ones. Look at the hinges and run your fingers down the temples. Good quality sunnies (and glasses for that matter) are physically polished by tumbling - this means the edges are rounded -so they are smooth without edges and corners. Many of the European manufacturers of the designer brands use physical polishing and intense inspection eg Louis Vuitton, Frances Kline. Many of the Chinese manufacturers use chemical polishing, this means the edges are smooth but more angular and the corners are obvious. They are mass produced and, as you said, you pay for the name, not the quality eg Ray ban. Barrel hinges and spring hinges are better quality. I find sunnies are a great way to have a little designer touch without too much expenditure. Hope this helps.

    I really could have used this help in my younger years! I didn't have much growing up and as I got older and able to buy my own clothes, I way overdid it with all the choices there were in the 80s! I cringe when I think about the choices I made back then. Ugh! This video really does make so much sense and you ALWAYS help me make sense out of working in an item that I just wasn't quite sure how to fit into my look. My over the knee boots as an example. I know you've shown many options for these boots and I did actually wear them for the second time yesterday and I pulled it off fabulously and got compliments! Yay! Thanks as always! You ROCK!

    Good morning Erin! I like this video a lot and really like your wear leather suggestion. I have always felt amazing in leather or faux and think it's the easiest way to look youthful and have fun with fashion. In fact, I recently thrifted the most amazing leather skirt in a beautiful cobalt blue color, and I feel amazing in it. I have jeans from 8 years ago or longer that still look current today depending on the pant silhouette that is trending, so I don't always buy jeans... I think the only jeans I have bought in the past 6 months are straight leg and mom jeans just because I never was into that style since the 90's! LOL Have a great weekend!

To be honest prior to losing the weight I had given up on style. YOU are a classic, creative, and beautiful woman inside and out. This video has so many great tips. Can I wear all ten style tips NO..... not at my age, but I can and will use most or a variation. 🌸

    I really wish someone would speak to the fact that some of us wear prescription eyeglasses and what sunglasses do we wear? Are prescription sunglasses the only option? Love your vids - I have learned so much.

      Just grab one or two pairs of classic frames that are also stylish. I would go with an aviator and maybe a wayfarer or more over-sized, glam pair

      If you have insurance splurge on glasses (designer or not) that suit your face shape & bring out your eyes. Can’t go wrong with classic Raybans. Last year I found some cheapo purple frames at Lens Crafters & they, looked good with my hazel eye color so I went online & bought a Kate Spade eyeglasses case from eBay to put them in. (Dupe). Year before I scored some real Kate Spade shades on a clearance rack & they’re so gorgeous & I feel put together wearing them. Choosing frames is kind of a chore but super important for overall look.

    You are amazing ! I m new in your chanel! Talking about wearing colors, and even neutral colors that suits our your skin tone as you mentionned, I would love a video showing how to chose the right red, blue or green or beige... according to the fact that some people are on the cool tone side and some are on the warm ones. Every color as is cool and warm tones I guess and I would love a video with two women, one on the each side! Tks

    I have been told the wrong size by Soma because they want me to purchase their bras. Every time I am measured at Nordstrom it is a different size than Soma. Soma does not carry my size and one sales rep told me although I am technically size so and so that I can also wear the size they happen to carry. Another sales rep flat didn't tell me my real size and brought bras in store of a different size for me to try. I don't trust Soma to measure honestly since they don't carry all size ranges. Nordstrom does and each time I am measured there I get the best fitting bras. The sales rep at Nordstrom said to be wary at stores that don't carry your size because they may try to sell you an incorrect size. I find this to be true every time I have gone to Soma. My suggestion is to always be measured at a minimum of 2 different stores.

      I TOTALLY agree!! I cannot wear any bras at Soma, either. I found that the Chantelle bras (at Nordstrom) fit me perfectly! I have been measured at Soma and a few other stores and Nordstrom was the only one that was accurate. Currently, I am a 34G or H, depending on the style of the Chantelle bra, so it's difficult enough to find a brand that carries my size!

      Trish LovesFashion I agree. So far Chantelle is the absolute best I have found. I still wish they would have really wide shoulder padding and more varieties for tripped and quadruple D ladies with natural busts.

      @@trisha3338 I also am a Chantelle bra user for years now! I find that their bras fit me properly especially that my left breast is a bit larger than my right.

    Once, my teenage son said, Mom - why can't you dress like all the other moms? I knew I was dressing with confidence & style and not just giving in to age and local, social expectations of what a mom is suppose to dress like. Great channel - great tips!!
