    The sad things is that most of the wars in the Seven Kingdoms were civil wars. In fact, I think since the Aegon unified the realm the only time the Seven Kingdoms have fought a foreign power was during the War of the Nine penny Kings. And that was still led by a house of Targaryen decent.

    I've often thought there are a whole lot of rebellions in Westeros that simply don't get a mention. A feudal society is necessarily a hugely unequal one, with a small, heavily armed aristocracy owning almost everything and the other 90% of the population being rural peasants. Every time the king's taxmen come around, there is the potential for revolt. One suspects that in a realm as large as the Seven Kingdoms, and with such variable seasons, there are smallfolk rebellions all the time, just as in medieval Europe. One suspects they are so routine the maesters don't even bother writing them down!

  • @thegreatpage5912

    Doesn't the War of the Five Kings count as a rebellion as well. The North was rebelling against the crown, Renly tried to take the throne from the rightful heir. And the Greyjoys was being the Greyjoys.

    I really really hope we get a Robert Jordan situation here where another skilled author is chosen to continue the work. I mean no offense to Martin but to flesh out his world in a way many people would like and finish his main series he would need to live for another 40-50 years at least.

      I have no problem with people adding and extending to his world one day, but insinuating he will die before even finishing his main story is just straight up rude.
      Especially when he’s made it very clear he’s been working on Winds and is making good progress, but is also working on other projects which inevitably slows down the main series.
      And what do you mean he needs 40-50 years to flesh it out? It’s already an extremely fleshed out series. The amount of characters, houses, castles, etc. is already mind boggling. The history and lore of it is very detailed from his lore books, which he already is working on more of. What more do you really need?

    I think George having The Starks spare the Boltons in The Greystark rebellion was a mistake. I understand George needed The Boltons to betray the Starks, but it’s puzzling that the Starks exterminated their kin but left the Boltons alive.

    • @cars81434
      @cars81434 2 года назад +7

      Maybe the surviving Boltons at time were either distant relative, too young, or a female member with no connection to this. We’ve seen this towards the Umbers and Karstarks in the show.
      The Umber surviving heir had been just a boy and Karstark have a girl as heiress. Sansa actually wanted to demoted their titles because of the rebellion and siding with the Boltons but Jon refuse and allow them to swore their oaths agains.
      It’s likely the Starks shown humility towards the leftovers Boltons to swear their oaths again. Although the Boltons don’t have a good reputation, they’re are quite effective and useful for the Starks to used.

    They could easily do a prequel from the start of blackfyre rebellions to the end of Roberts rebellion. 1st or 1st 2 seasons could be the lead up to the first blackfyre rebellion as there is a ton of info about Aegon the IV and his insatiable appetite for whoring and fathering of many bastards. Each season after 2 could be a black fyre rebellion leading 7 seasons. The final two seasons could be robberts rebellion. If they want to keep it to 8 seasons then 1 season for the lead up to the 1st blackfyre rebellion. House of the Dragon may go till Viserys II's crowning after his older brother dies and has no male heirs to succeed him.

    Video Suggestions or maybe something for Q&A GoT:
    1. Lannister - So we got Tytos Lannister and Tywin Lannister, ever found it odd that Tywin gave the "Ty" name to Tyrion, the son he hated, but didn't give it to Jaime who he wanted as his heir an successor to the Family House?
    2. Baratheon - I always found it strange that they picked a Stag for their House Sigil, and then when going into battle, they have antlers attached to their Helms, and typically fight like raging bulls using Sledge Hammers, Mallets, and Maces.
    If you mentioned these in other videos, please point them out.

      The stag belonged to House Durrandon who were The Storm Kings (original rulers of The Stormlands) until Orys Baratheon, Aegon "The Conqueror" Targaryen's bastard half brother conquered The Stormlands, killing The Last Storm King and marrying his daughter, becoming the new Lord of Storm's End and Lord Paramount of The Stormlands.
