The “taking a break” part is a tricky thing for routes and delivery. For one, you’re off site so you’re subject to the area around you for accessing bathrooms and food. The work volume fluctuates often (but this can change as technology advances, etc). IMO, structuring 10 hour delivery shifts is asking for trouble. Way too many variables day to day can greatly expand or shrink that route. So this driver is correct with the “do I take a break or not” issue. Yes, 2 minutes is 2 minutes, that can be valuable work time. But what this carrier is expressing is that he’s doing a 10 hour shift and he took a 62 minute break instead of a 60 minute break and he feels he’s getting hassled for that. IMO, the carrier should not feel hassled for taking an additional 2 minutes of rest during a 10 hour day, working outside, driving in all sorts of conditions for terrible money. The only thing these companies should tell their carriers that they overwork daily is “thank you. Please don’t quit” lol
I don't blame them I'm from Pittsburgh PA and I didn't last 2 weeks. I agree with Daeron Myers! Amazon acts like everybody's moving too slow while delivering unrealistic loads!!! But people do what you allow them to do. What employees need to be thinking about is why are they making money too slow
Amazon isn't that bad, it really depends on your DSP. If your DSP owner knows what he's doing and how to treat people you will be good. Some DSPs are just a complete disaster. Our DSP is on top of everything and the whole team is happy.
Amazon has never been an option for me since my cuzn worked in one of their warehouses in Dallas, and they told her she couldn't take off work on a Saturday for her High School Graduation. Yes, we get good products. But the workers are hella underpaid for the work they provide, and they Dnt care about their employees, only the money coming in and packages going out. $18 what? Nahhh, Nobody with Full responsibilities can make it in life off that type of Pay in today's economy.
a lot of these Amazon delivery service are not own by Amazon first party and those blue trucks and vans you see on the roads are all independently owned as DSP stands for delivery Service Partner, Basically they are partnership with Amazon and those drivers that drive those trucks or vans are not employees of Amazon and they work for those DSP that are partnership with Amazon and beside the Amazon Flex that's a whole different ball game that basically deal with Prime Members for Same Day Delivery Service those are also independent contractors that use there owned vehicle to deliver.
yup Shawn, call em out, so bad...I drive as a seasonal driver for ups every fall up till xmas out in SoCal...decent pay (better than amazon..$23 an hour,) no quotas or hassles, no calls wondering "why are u going to the bathroom more than once a shift", union job, mgr young guys are mostly cool as long as u do your job, use your own car or SUV, get good mileage reimbursement..all states...every year or even season seeing a constant turnover in amazon drivers, abused, all of them. All of Amazons subcontractor delivery companies purposely set up so no worker protections...tell your viewers to go get seasonal work for ups to get afoot in the door to a real job year round
10:10 that’s why it’s unrealistic. You need to allow your staff 5-10 mins at least of fluctuation. Routes also need to be structured differently, they need to be cut in half. A route should only take 3-4 hours to delivery. And carriers could do 2 routes in one day. This gives carries a mid day break and it also just cuts the pie into smaller slices so it’s easier for the team to get through it all. 10 hour delivery routes is asking for trouble.
So, this is similar to what happened to me today. Today was my 1st day with a last-mile company (to remain nameless for now because i might do a video) that delivers for Temu (it seems, because that was all i saw). I had an expectation for a minimum pay. It took 45 min to load and organize the packages in my car, then 4h to deliver. When i saw the pay at the end, my jaw hit the floor. I discussed it with dispatch, they said it was an estimate TWO HOUR route 🤯 Did they really expect me to complete that in 2 hours. So many things not adding up. I'll have to see if this is worthwhile because as of right now, its not. And my AC went out so its very HOT.
Amazon sucks in one week 3 purchases were never delivered that I made all 3 were fragrances that I wanted. After 10 days waiting being a prime member and buying from Amazon they are the sellers witch I should have got 2 day dilevery but no 10 days later they say package missing. How the F do you loose a package not one but 3. And I wanted some compensation they said no. F Amazon please people boycott Amazon for the holiday season because you won’t get your packages anyway. Amazon SUCKS💩💩💩💩👌👌
Do you live in a hard to reach place like an apartment complex that needs like 3 different codes and multiple elevators to get to your door? If it is YOU need to just do locker delivery near you or give VERY specific instructions for drop off
Ooh no maybe you haven't heard Amazon is about yo replace all drivers there building the Driverless trucks now that means all Amazon truck drivers will not have a job next year anyway 😂

@@johnnywilliams5445 All facts!!!
If you work 8 hrs that's 37.5 packages an hour. And you know the delivery routes aren't streamline like that
Facts!
Some one has to do a documentary on Amazon drivers. How was their mental fitness before and after. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
All Facts!!
As hot as it is in South Florida, there is no way I would be working for Amazon😂😂😂😂😂. The humidity makes if feel like it's 200° when it's 85😓

That’s why I couldn’t do Amazon. They got them drivers on lock like Apple Air Tag. 🤣🤣🤣

At least bring the truck back. But yes this is wrong. Ppl should be paid per package or per mile
Absolutely!
I do Amazon flex and they do try to get over
Same company so I could see that
FedEx be getting over too and no a/c in some of their vehicles
No ac in vehicles should be illegal

Hecsaid 2 15 minutes and a 30 minute break , he never stated which one he was on, so from what hes saying it must be the 30 minute break.
Oh okay 👍🏾
I just quit Amazon tooo! They require too much for soooo little moneyyyyy
They are crazy
They pay 21.00 hr here in North ATL 😮
Still not enough for the bulk of work these drivers are doing. They should get $25.00 at the very least.
