Whangarei, New Zealand: The "Tamil Bell" is a broken bronze bell discovered in approximately 1836 by missionary William Colenso. It was being used as a pot to boil potatoes by Māori women near "Whangarei" in the Northland Region of New Zealand. The inscription running around the rim of the bell has been identified as old Tamil. Translated, it says "Mohoyiden Buks ship’s bell". It is predicted that this bell may have been created during the reign of the Pandya kings who ruled Tamil Nadu 500 years ago. The name Whangarei means anchor point in Tamil, so the Tamil sailors may have named Whangarei in New Zealand.
Wow! I guess this comes across big time in our videos. It's because we were going non-stop and switching hotels every night so we were exhausted and needed some re-charging. I'm glad you enjoyed the iron as much as we did. It was so cool and he was just there on the street running his business. Amazing right!! Our getting to Jaipur video is going to be embarrassing because it didn't go so well and we were upset. I guess this happens in India. There are highs and there are lows. 😂😂
Wow, thanks guys…enjoyed this video…brought back some fond memories. I recall my first business trip to Chennai (2014), a couple of execs took us to Pondicherry for a day trip. I recall taking selfies standing under the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the promenade and had quite an extravagant lunch at some restaurant along the beach front. Also had mango ice cream for the first time that tasted out of this world. One thing was noticeably different back then, there were plenty of French people around walking the streets (this of course was pre pandemic and I guess the western world is still a little hesitant to travel, especially to populous countries such as India. Oh and one last thing, I’ve been to Mahabalipuram (the famous shore temple) and very close by was the famous Butter Ball (massive rock structure that looks like a ball) also visited an insanely impressive seashell shop close by. Oh and we always stayed at either the resort hotel Fisherman’s Cove or the luxurious Grand Chola or Leela Palace. You should also checkout Phoenix mall while you there…such a huge contrast from what the place looks like outside and what you’ll see inside the mall. Enjoy, thanks for the memory.
There are many things in India which you will find very uncommon for foreigners but not for us. Like for instance the charcoal based Iron for Ironing the clothes. Though it has become rare in cities but still you will get to see it here and there. You can sometimes smell the charcoal in it. Feels nostalgic 😌
Hi 👋 Good evening from Northeast of India. Please go to explore Sikkim, Dargeeling , kalimpong and Assam, Shillong to explore North Eastern part of India where you will see diversity of culture, diversity of races and diversity of nature. It's absolutely amazing. Safe for tourists. People are so kind and welcoming 🙏 ❤❤❤❤
Hello Chantal, Angelique, Chloe and Tyler The Camera Man!!! I have learned and am still learning so much about all the countries that y'all have traveled!!! Thanks for sharing what y'all have learned through experiencing the different cultures, food, and there way life!!!
The enthusiasm and sincerity with which each of you have randomly shown Pondicherry looks really great. Pondicherry now seems to be the most amazing place in India.
Generally in India we don't have coast guard to monitor if anyone need help during emergency while attempting to swim.. so they put general caution as swimming prohibited.. If you still take risk and drown it's up to you.. We warned you... Now it's on you to rescue.. Just Indian thing..
Tides are strong where swimming is prohibited. There are other beaches in pondicherry like eden beach which is absolutely safe to swim. Less crowded too you may check it out.

9:06 The Bay of Bengal, despite looking placid at the surface, is known to have a FURIOUS temper, with strong currents and wave surges, which can even upturn boats if not careful. As to why people are still swimming, they just disregarded the sign. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
This is the first time, i saw your video and basically i'm from Pondicherry. Welcome to Pondicherry!! Although Pondicherry is surrounded by Tamil Nadu, it is not a part of Tamil Nadu. It's a federal territory known as "Union Territory" in India. That's why the number plates here read PY as opposed to TN. The reason for this is that the French left India much later than the British and the remaining French territories in India were organized into a union territory of Pondicherry.

Why is there a French quarter there? Surprised me. I did not know that
It's because Pondicherry was previously colonized under French East India Company, hence it's known as Little France of India.
