Not interested in YOUR opinion I want to hear Dugins own words!!!!!
They can't do that, because his words sound way too reasonable and people would actually agree with a lot of what he says if not for the '''reporter''' throwing in loaded words like 'ultranationalist'. Whenever a 'bad' person is interviewed, the reporter needs to constantly remind the viewer that this person is 'bad'. People say things like, "the American public is so stupid, they need people to tell them exactly what to think". But they don't. They don't need that. It's done not because Americans are stupid, but because media companies exist not to report the news, but to spread ideologies. To them, there's nothing more dangerous than allowing their opposition to speak freely without their own commentary on what was said.

@@ebikeslapunta9294 it definately should be yes
@@ebikeslapunta9294 You might legitimately say that society > should try < to make the powerful accountable, but the statement "Power is accountability" is just plain idiotic. Most of the time the opposite is the case.
Power is simply the ability to accomplish what one wishes. This could be by any number of means, whether physical, political, financial, etc.
The word "power" has no inherent positive or negative denotation ... it is not, in and of itself, good or evil; such value/moral designations will depend on how that power is used, in the judgement or by the standards of the observer.
Politics and ideology completely aside, I have to say how impressed I am that Dugin can field interviews so comfortably in English. Even, say, Zelenskyy who is much younger does most of his interviews in his native language with a translator.

A former friend of mine (who has become an Anti-Liberal and an enthusiast for Putinist and Trumpist styles of governance) introduced me to Dugin's thought back around the time that Putin invaded & annexed Crimea. We really need to pay close attention to what Dugin says, when he says that the political model he is calling for is not "monarchist," i.e. top-down Authoritarianism; instead it's a form of popular Authoritarianism, where the people at large call for a Strongman as their Leader . This is otherwise known as Fascism. We have to understand that this is a big part of the appeal Trump has in America, that Modi has in India, that Orban has in Hungary, and of course that Putin has in Russia. The threat to democracy really comes from within. That's the exact reason why Benjamin Franklin admonished us, "a Republic, if you can keep it."

@@AstroGremlinAmerican It's a contradiction in terms to speak of a "Fascist Left." The Left can veer into their own brand of Authoritarianism, but Fascists are and always were *Conservatives.* Fascists are Anti-Liberal.
Fighting over education is inevitable in a democracy. That's not Fascism. Peaceful disagreements over how wealth is distributed is certainly not Fascist; again that's a standard part of democracy.
And every society, in all times, has fights over what speech is allowed and what speech should be prohibited. The key to capital-L Liberalism (which is not to be conflated with the Egalitarian liberalism of the Left), is that what really matters in these fights is the PROCEDURES by which they are to be adjudicated. It's Authoritarians (either the Fascists, OR the Authoritarian Left; these are never the same thing, because Fascists, as Anti-Liberals, are Conservatives) who want to shut down the process - FOR example, by stealing elections!

Guys, this is an interview done in 2017. He is not talking in the context of the war, he is talking about the ambitions of russsia as a nation and that Russia under Putin will always try to be one of the Narrators of Humans history. He is not justifying the war in this interview, he is explaining the mindset of Russia as a Nation you fools.
He's still justifying the war right now, using the same retoric. Sadly, his daughter was a victim of the same war he enforces
He dictates that Russia should annex Ukraine, and says Putin takes too long, you fool
@bochiebochie This comment was made at the time of the start of the war in Ukraine, where this comment section went wild, with emotional rants and insults, while everyone acted as if he was saying this in the context of the war. During that time everyone was outraged at the war crimes being committed and some of the brutality being displayed in media.
The reason I called people fools was because they were acting like fools. Now people have become more level-headed and are actually able to discuss some issues with a clearer mind.
So don't insult me for something I wrote in a different time, with a different context.
Not biased interview at all 😂
If you play with fire you get burned. Playing with someones life. They're foolish
Old geezers stuck in the past nostalgia. Russia needs fresh young leader who looks to the future not the past.
As a Russian, I know better what Russia needs. Russia does not need Putin, because he is corrupt and does not deal with domestic politics. Russia needs a fanatical emperor who will save the Western world from liberalism. for us, Western people are cuckolds.
Yes. And you, white western man wish to teach us how this future should look like.
Can you all post the entire interview? Thank you.
No thanks! I heard enough.
fortunately, there are a number of Dugin interviews, lectures, and debates on RUclips and they will give you a better idea of his philosophy than 60 minutes likely would
@@alquinn8576 True.
This producer literally said the opposite of what Dugan really said in his supposed explanation of Dugan's geopolitical tendencies....Dugan said he wants Russia to be one of many nations making geopolitical decisions... producer says Russia wants to rule the west and Asia (the world)
After 1 year I watch Doctor Dugin again he is amazingly smart
Putin might have listened to him but there are millions of people in Europe and Asia who do not want to kow tow to Putin.
Russian are on a path to be the subordinate to China. Strangely in the 1960's or so, Moscow asked the USA what they would or think if they nuked China.
To men like Putin and Dugan, that doesn't matter, because both men consider anyone who isn't Russian to be beneath them.

Russia got more natural resources than the whole of Europe put together.
go back to the history books
Literally, all you need is economics lol. Sure, you need a military and nukes to back it up, but it is economics that determines your true status, just look at the US and China. Russia's economy could be great, it was on the right track in the 2000s, but then Putin began his kleptocracy and ruined all of that potential. Be friendly with your neighbors and make them richer and they will actually WANT to be your allies rather have to seek refuge from your hegemony in NATO.

Russia at that point in time was just territory for the Golden Horde to pillage and rape. Been quite the influence on the Russian way of war ever since haha

I miss the context. 1997 when he wrote the book, russia was hardly existing anymore. And the western oligarchs are on the way to get all resources from russia. The people are getting poor and poorer, like many in the usa today. Also he emphasizes several time, that he don't want russia to be the only one, but one part of global decisions. This sound much more complex than what we hear from the geopolitics from the usa. May you read a book of the counter part Brzeziński. He is from my view far right, Dugin is a lamb comparing to him. But nobody will count the millions of dead by US-Army.

😂 He's actually hilarious! It takes more to become a superpower than armies and annexations. During the cold war, authoritarian countries like USSR, China, Cuba, N.Korea, East Germany, Vietnam could barely feed themselves despite the Soviet Union having control of Ukraine, a rich country that has now become the "Breadbasket of Europe". If that's not bad ideology and systemic management, I don't know what is.

A genuine fantasist. You come across these types all the time- almost every James Bond film has one. Watching the Russian drive away from Kiev faster than they arrived just shows the limitation of the Russian forces, and frankly most forces nowadays, and this form of ideology. What folks from Russia want is the peace to live their lives, the resources to enjoy it and the feeling that those in charge respond to the peoples wishes as part of a community. Democracy and the West offer this.
A map fantasist. The worst kind of fantasist.
Some countries in the west offer this. Not America though. I agreed with everything else you said though.
Democracy is a SCAM and the "West" offers nothing but Islamic terrorism and race riots. Funny how you mention James Bond since that demonstrates how much you've been programed to think a certain way and have *zero* original thoughts of your own. The Russians are also *not* being "driven away" in Ukraine. You *can't* drive away an enemy that has total air and artillery dominance over you.
