Glad to bring back fond memories for you. Tanzer 26 is a decent boat. I think I know what boat you are talking about. It is situated right across from me.
Thanks Rick. We were very disappointed we lost all of our vlog footage since we spend most of the day using that camera. But ..... We had some cool shots so figured, it would be a shame to skip right over Canada Day and go right into July 4 celebrations for the US holiday. Glad we had enough cool shots to cobble something together to mark the day.
Hello Craig, thanks again for sharing. What is the spot (island) where all the boats were anchored/beached for the Canada Day party at the end of your video? thanks
You are very welcome. The one we showed from a distance on Canada day is the North East anchorage on Simcoe Island. The one we show about the next episode, which is up close, is Potter's Beach on Grindstone Island.
OK. That makes sense. Someone told me it was a hospital, but clearly it is not being used for that now as I don't see any activity. So I wasn't sure what it was now. It is kind of spooky now that you tell me what it was. But, Damn, it would be cool to film inside there, especially at night.
Thanks. It gives good info. It does not explain why it closed? The buildings look in good shape. Is it just a museum now? Awfully large campus to not be in use as something?
+Kris Dailey That Chris Walken movie is 1999's "Vendetta", I guess Kingston (and Toronto) made for a good period New Orleans. I should look that movie up again.
Thanks for posting Craig! Brings back memories as I rented a Tanzer 26 at your club two years ago to sail the 1000 islands for a week. Great time!

as always! really enjoy your style...
Thanks Chase. Good hearing from you again.
Excellent video Craig! Even without the lost footage. Well done.
Thanks again Rodney.
Old Psych Hospital, the first version, not the third one that's just been built over the 2nd one
Old prison is open in the summer time for tours. Pretty cool to visit!
Yes. I am aware. Something to do in Kingston near our boat for sure.
Lol way to overcome! Great footage. Thanks

Thanks again!
They are the old psychiatric hospital buildings. At least that was what I was always told as kid growing up there. Particularly spooky at night!

There was a Christopher Walken movie that used them as a backdrop once upon a time. Forgot what the name of the movie was.
Here is the bio for the building www.museumofhealthcare.ca/explore/exhibitions/rockwood-asylum.html
