As a Crusadia going-first pet decker and having innovated the deck so much, I really feel this. Yeah it's pretty bad but it's mine and my first thought about seeing any new card is how it could fit with Crusadia
I’ve always been more of a battler when it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh. I find a lot of catharsis in breaking through the board of my opponent, maybe even getting disrupted, and still stealing a game by the skin of my teeth. As such, I find myself attaching to multi-attacking monsters like Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, damaging reflection monsters like Yubel and Oohime, and the direct attack Watts. I’d probably play Drones if they finally got printed. And yeah, I have Tenpai too. But out of all of the potential battle focused archetypes I could choose, like Ancient Gear or the aforementioned Tenpai, I find myself latching to Dinowrestlers. Of all things. Its swarming is non-existing, it requires a lot of work for little pay-off, and its boss monsters are basically Ancient Gears, but also if the opponent battles you. The only things notable about it are being used in the anime by Go, the Gouki user in Vrains, and Pankratops. The reason why I like this deck is because it does something that no other deck I can think of can do: Battle Phase control. The bosses tell your opponent’s monsters can only attack them. King T Wrextle tells the opponent which monster should attack first. World Dino Wrestling tells both players to only attack with 1 monster. And the Martials prevent your monsters from being destroyed in said battle. Outside of that, because the deck doesn’t seem to do much, no one realistically knows what to expect. So get surprised when I drop a Veidos on them by popping my World Dino Wrestling, whose GY effect is now live on Turn 1. If it had the right protection, I’d imagine it’d be hard for most decks to adapt to such a strategy. That said, it also has its downsides, since I can’t stop a Yubel from attacking my monster with Nightmare Pain up. Dinowrestlers, for me, is all about evolution. Not in the literal sense like Dinosaurs have done before, but the kind of evolution where you hone yourself to become stronger, even if it means baring the weights of this archetype the whole time. Through my experimentation, I have done the Veidos combo I mentioned before, and you’d be surprised how useful getting back a monster your Geonator Transverser just swapped to your opponent is with access to the Ashened Continuous Trap. And I keep trying. I’ve messed with Horus, Mimighoul, Metalmorph, Allure Queen etc. Not all have seen good results, but the point is to see if they could, because you never know. That’s why I love this game. Not to win, not even to be good, but to see what the thousands of cards available to us all can create.
Same this is why I’m a bit salty about yubel becoming one of the top tiers. They are one of my favorite cards and I always wanted them to get buffed but it dose make me hesitate because it just seems like I’m playing it because it’s meta more then the love for the character.
Agreed. I don’t think I hate Snake-Eye because it’s Snake-Eye, but moreso because Oh my God this has been meta for like a year at this point please free me from this hell.
by far my favourite duel iv had i was playing maliss against phantasmal control. its hard to explain how fun that duel was. it genuinely felt like an anime moment where the character uses all the effects of they're boss monster for the audience
Love the idea of this video. Very much a fan of the idea that this game really can connect people and that people's deck can be a representation of themselves. Bonus points for calling Visas a twink.
Okay, hear me out, I really like playing kashtira because it feels really fun to slowly close my opponent's zones, as if I was slowly conquering an enemy's land, but I also understand how frustrating playing against the deck is and it makes me feel guilty using it
The essence of my soul is activating skill drain and seeing people groan. Oh and playing hieratic in 2024 just to see the weird faces i get when i tribute spheres in my combo line.
That part about looking at a certain card that has some kind of synergy with your favorite deck is so real, every time i come across a card that says "if this card is sent to the gy/if this card is in the gy" i immediately ask myself if it can work with tearlaments. So far i've been right 15 different times and with tidal at 3 in md i'm currently building ghoti tear
I been a loyal user of Synchro Monsters and Stardust Dragon Will always be my favorite. Shooting Majestic Star Dragon is pretty much my new ace and I just love how the Deck is played. It's not meta, sure. But I just love the play style, design aesthetics, and the character who played them.
I personally really click with decks without a rigid endboard. Runick Plunder is my favorite deck of all time because the interactions it puts up depends a lot on both the individual Runick spells and the different attributes the opponent has. I played Tear when it came out in Master Duel and thought it was fun but the deck only really clicked recently now that you can't guarantee that you'll make the optimal board like you could with Merli + Ishizus. It's a hard space to design in because I feel like people generally aren't interested in entirely rng decks, but some amount of board variety is more interesting than just doing the same combo forever
I main d-link, cause I love dragons, heck my name means dragons, I mained the deck since TOSS, and still main it to this day, I have been with the deck through every stage and evolved with it, But aside from that, this was a very fun and interesting watch, impressive work mate, I like the ideas presented in the video, and was very refreshing to see a new perspective on the game, mind if I take few of these perspectives for myself ?
My two main decks I play are Mikanko with some Kaijus to support their gimmick (even if I can count on one hand the number of times the Kaiju's won me a duel) and Vanquish Soul... with a side of Kashtira because Earth, Dark, and Fire monsters and 1 Slifer for styling.
You think Ryzeol vanquish soul is a good/fun build of the deck? Just thinking about it, it does get you to razen without your normal and can make a variety of other rank 4s to fill your hand with your various attributes. Plus cross can protect your vs monsters from handtraps. Only downside is that you can't stick rock if you lead with the ryzeol effects, but I can't imagine that's too big a downside if it means consistently seeing combo. Good video btw, always love seeing different perspectives on the game.
I'd have to try it for myself to really know. It really depends on if it feels like the VS portion of the deck actually contributes anything meaningful to gameplay. Which, evidently, pure Ryzeol doesn't need help in.
@RenegadeRedoer That's fair. My thought is that it could give raizeol more to do if it gets dark rulered, or especially d barriered. I wouldn't be surprised to see vs play around some of the things that people will be playing to beat raizeol. The cards are pretty versatile
Aracanite magician is one of my favorite decks it seemed like it was supposed to be like a spell caster version of stardust (anime wise) it got a assault form and a fusion like stardust but didn’t get a accel synchro.
I play Bazoo Beastdown in GOAT & Kingler turbo in PTCGP for this reason. Totally destroying my opponent 30% of the time resonates much more with me than having a more consistent chance to win.
Vanquish Soul and Endymion are probably my 2 favorite decks in the game. It's hard to put it into words considering how different the decks are, but they're fun to me. I don't really agree with the notion that a deck loses it's identity because of outside/generic support being added to a deck. I do agree when the support does the heavy lifting, then it's worth questioning if it's still the same deck.
14:20 I’m thinking of pendulum a lot. It’s my favorite mechanic and I’m thinking of revamping my essay on why Pendulum shouldn’t be shackled to links Anymore in time for a potential new master rule announcement this December. 😢
That is why we have 3 power tiers whit my Friends. My deck for each tier are: 3 watt thunder dragons 2 pure red dragon archfiend 1 white aura Ghoti. This way we can enjoy underpowered deck and have fair maches
No way my meta deck reflects my soul. Played Evilswarm, Bujins, Qliphorts, ABCs, True Draco, Altergist, Eldlich, Floo, *Pure* Runick, Kash, and now Tenpai. 😢 My soul is tainted
I fucking adore VS. It's healthy (imo), super interesting, I love the interactivity! However when pure it kinda bricks. I wanted it to be better to play with, and a streamer I watch plays Snake-Eyes VS. And it's genuinely rekindled my love for both decks (I've used Snakes in Lyrilusc, and I love Lyri for sentimental reasons!) which gives you endless fires. It's not the most consistent for getting into VS every game, but it's fantastic and so much fun and feels competitive in MD! Any time I hear VS I sort of just spill words lol I'm so curious to hear your in depth thoughts on the VS Lab brew honestly lmao Okay this was a great video, great points to think on! Makes me reevaluate how I'll bitch now and then about whatever deck because I'm pissed about it. Being susceptible to the tilt when Yugioh is so skill expression focused and bringing so many amazing duels to so many different people .. yeaaa
I play White Forest Azamina right now because it's fun. But I'm always waiting in the wings with Mikanko. Just updating it slowly every new release until I find the time to strike with it.
Please give Ursarctic 2 normal summons and a synchro grizzly bear *Septentrion (polar) and Chariot (black). Also, give Igknights an actual Igknights synchro and tuner monster(s) *I really want the 2 non pendulum Igknights to be tuners pendulum retrains and have effect be quick effect*.
Im glad i found an archetype that i can enjoy and stick with. Ive always played HERO. THEY are always getting new support sonit works out. Still waiting for a negate so the deck has a chance against nibiru that is better than hoping you open crossout designator. At least they have enough unfair cards to at least be on the fringe of rouge but not good enough to get hit on the banlist
personally i dont hate meta so much as the gap that keeps widening between meta and the archetypes that get left behind. I want to play the archetypes that made me like the game, not be bullied into playing the newest thing that's "close enough" to what i enjoyed playing in the first place the problem with meta decks is that the stronger they get the more powerful the tools used to stop them, and the more the game just pushes what came before out of being not just viable, but playable. konami sure hasnt helped with the growing mountain of archetypes that just sit forgotten for years at a time and are lucky to get like...2-3 cards that maybe make them playable in a format like edison(where they arent allowed cause "they didnt exist then") but do utterly nothing to let them keep pace with the current day
I hope, not only for my sake but also for my friend who is a die hard Dark Magician player, that they get a monster which lets them search normally, and maybe special summons monsters from the hand. Maybe a link 1 that not only treats itself as the original Dark Magician on the field and gy but also can use Dark Magician monsters from the hand as material before searching out the support. And another link 1 which co-links to the first one and takes the name of Dark Magician Girl while also protecting the DM link from card effects, to represent the bond between the two.
Personally, I'm really drawn to "Miracle Synchro Fusion" so I try to find any excuse to use the card. Shame Konami doesn't make more fusion monsters that work with it Thankfully I did thinker with my beloved Scraps in a way that lets me use it a lot but I wish I could also use MSF with my beloved Ice Baerriers
Funnily enough i loved full power tears, the deck was just fun to play! Absolutely broken as fuck tho. My fav deck is super quants, the power rangers coming together to form a giant mech just ignites something in me.
at first i was the Starry Knight enthusiast, but after seeing that it did the same thing as other decks just worse made me quit. Don't get me wrong, i still love and treasure my Starry Knight core, i just can't stand how the deck struggles to do with an entire hand what other decks do with one card. If the payoff or the gameplay was unique or had at least one rare niche to exploit the deck would be worth it to main, but without new support it just feels like self torture. I'm the local tindangler now. i still lose, but atleast when i win it's because my horrors beyond human comprehension used their soul charge from the graveyard to outgrind their opponent and then punch them very hard with double damage, not just going first resolving prosperity and hoping that 2 pops and a negate (starry knight's strongest setup) is enough to stop the opponent from playing. Tindangles on top
Well i am kinda a pendulum player, i love the concept and the way they play, is just a unique mechanic but sadly they don't have ED bossmonsters that are playable or they are kinda worst than hes counterparts... Z-arc literaly needs 2 custom traps to summon hem... and if you want to use the effect you need 3 useless cards and one brick or open book of moon/play the solfachord link 3... only vortex is kinda cost efficient (becouse absolute tho)... but i keep enjoying the game becouse i like to mix and try pendulum decks... also like non pendulum decks... but i don't find them that i like from pendulums... also i actively try to clean the bad reputation of the mechanic after all not all pend decks are like qli or PePe
As a Penguins player and I mean not the fake emperor, I do mean Penguins plural in many different penguins, yeah there's definitely more than just me but man when I say it, people kept pointing as if I play that fake Emperor. Also play Ursarctic so I do feel called out here.
I still want Ash Blossom to be banned or at least errata to that it can only activate it's effect if you got no cards on the field because she's that annoying
@akiradkcn maybe so but everyone uses her to the point that hand traps makes the game feel unfun to play that I my I almost got a aneurysm because of her existence
I never hated most decks pure. Generic support is where it get's annoying. I loath prometeian princes as a card. Dispader and chaos angel. As a few examples. There desing is so anoying to play against. I like yubel. If it where not for fiendsmith or worse. Unchained. The unchained link 2 into s.p. is so anoying to play against. I dislike most handtraps. So i don't play them. For better or worse.
@akiradkcn agreeing halve to it. 1.st towers are not fun. (No card should have battle and card protection. See crooked cook stall. Play a kaiju or the link 5.) 2.nd Why can i summon it without a tuner. That is not what synchro summon should be. If it was a fusion i would like it more. Synchro summoning was never before broken like this as a mechanic. 3.rd why protect all monsters by battle. Not just synchro. Outing chaos is annoying many times. More so with a negate behind it. If it was the only card on the field I would not care. Master piece is banned for being a tower with build in disruption to protect itself. So your out can't get through. And chaos angel has less outs it also is way easier to pair with other cards/negates.

Nothing kills a deck for me much like overexposure. The more I hear of and play against a deck, the less interested I am in playing them
I thought I was the only one who felt that😭
Same this is why I’m a bit salty about yubel becoming one of the top tiers.
Witchcrafter ftw baby. Also love me some Blizzard Princess otk.
by far my favourite duel iv had i was playing maliss against phantasmal control. its hard to explain how fun that duel was. it genuinely felt like an anime moment where the character uses all the effects of they're boss monster for the audience
The first archetype I fell in love with was cubic so I'm still trying to otk people at my locals to this day.
Yeah. I won’t lie, that OTK potential is pretty Nutty. Especially since the deck is a Literal Glass Cannon!
@danielramsey6141 Yes that is what I like about it, it's fast and fun
@@danielramsey6141 The only thing I hate is that I have to watch my opponent combo before one of us gets beaten into the ground
3:16 considering i main Supreme King in master duel
Uh
I now understand why people tell me i set my goals too higher
Love the idea of this video. Very much a fan of the idea that this game really can connect people and that people's deck can be a representation of themselves. Bonus points for calling Visas a twink.
Okay, hear me out, I really like playing kashtira because it feels really fun to slowly close my opponent's zones, as if I was slowly conquering an enemy's land, but I also understand how frustrating playing against the deck is and it makes me feel guilty using it
Just don’t be a prick about it and you’re fine in my book
At least you have a bit of decency to admit it
I like playing it because I am evil.
@@Lucaslv702 you can rot alone for all I care
I like playing it because it goes kinda well with Myutant
The essence of my soul is activating skill drain and seeing people groan.
Oh and playing hieratic in 2024 just to see the weird faces i get when i tribute spheres in my combo line.
That part about looking at a certain card that has some kind of synergy with your favorite deck is so real, every time i come across a card that says "if this card is sent to the gy/if this card is in the gy" i immediately ask myself if it can work with tearlaments. So far i've been right 15 different times and with tidal at 3 in md i'm currently building ghoti tear
Also 3:30 is me exactly. That's why I'm still waiting for this Jerry Beansman deck so I can finally go and try to win tournament.
I wasn’t expecting a life lesson but you got a subscribe out of me you have a good head on you.
I love this video, amazing retrospective!
I main d-link, cause I love dragons, heck my name means dragons, I mained the deck since TOSS, and still main it to this day, I have been with the deck through every stage and evolved with it,
But aside from that, this was a very fun and interesting watch, impressive work mate, I like the ideas presented in the video, and was very refreshing to see a new perspective on the game, mind if I take few of these perspectives for myself ?
My two main decks I play are Mikanko with some Kaijus to support their gimmick (even if I can count on one hand the number of times the Kaiju's won me a duel) and Vanquish Soul... with a side of Kashtira because Earth, Dark, and Fire monsters and 1 Slifer for styling.
Dragonmaids ❤
Fluffal is truly the best deck for me.

I’m thinking of pendulum a lot. It’s my favorite mechanic and I’m thinking of revamping my essay on why Pendulum shouldn’t be shackled to links Anymore in time for a potential new master rule announcement this December.
😢
That is why we have 3 power tiers whit my Friends.
My deck for each tier are:
3 watt thunder dragons
2 pure red dragon archfiend
1 white aura Ghoti.
Any time I hear VS I sort of just spill words lol
I'm so curious to hear your in depth thoughts on the VS Lab brew honestly lmao
Okay this was a great video, great points to think on!
I'm just waiting for the ryzel cards to come out so I can combine it with ashened.
you can say kralwer is jank we understand no need to worry
That s insane....
I m passing most of my Time watching videos about Yu gi oh than playing the game
Me, who loves using neo-spacians in my omni heroes deck
personally i dont hate meta so much as the gap that keeps widening between meta and the archetypes that get left behind. I want to play the archetypes that made me like the game, not be bullied into playing the newest thing that's "close enough" to what i enjoyed playing in the first place
the problem with meta decks is that the stronger they get the more powerful the tools used to stop them, and the more the game just pushes what came before out of being not just viable, but playable.
konami sure hasnt helped with the growing mountain of archetypes that just sit forgotten for years at a time and are lucky to get like...2-3 cards that maybe make them playable in a format like edison(where they arent allowed cause "they didnt exist then") but do utterly nothing to let them keep pace with the current day
I hope, not only for my sake but also for my friend who is a die hard Dark Magician player, that they get a monster which lets them search normally, and maybe special summons monsters from the hand.
Shame Konami doesn't make more fusion monsters that work with it
Thankfully I did thinker with my beloved Scraps in a way that lets me use it a lot but I wish I could also use MSF with my beloved Ice Baerriers
Have you ever tried using an Alien deck ? If you have what did you think of it ? My favourite deck to use is Alien.
Im not allowed to talk shit on other decks cause i play cubics
I like cubics and crusadia, sometimes otk jank just works ya know?
@@HawaiianForgeStudios man when it works it fucking works cause they never see the 6k beater effect immunity to most monsters coming
Mmh, I play a LOT of Labrynth. What does this tell about me?
Funnily enough i loved full power tears, the deck was just fun to play! Absolutely broken as fuck tho. My fav deck is super quants, the power rangers coming together to form a giant mech just ignites something in me.
blue eyes branded deck are fun. tell me otherwise
at first i was the Starry Knight enthusiast, but after seeing that it did the same thing as other decks just worse made me quit.
I can’t talk shit, I play starry knights
Centurion best deck
As a Penguins player and I mean not the fake emperor, I do mean Penguins plural in many different penguins, yeah there's definitely more than just me but man when I say it, people kept pointing as if I play that fake Emperor. Also play Ursarctic so I do feel called out here.
fun is NOT subjective
Stun is very fun
I still want Ash Blossom to be banned or at least errata to that it can only activate it's effect if you got no cards on the field because she's that annoying
Super easy to play around, just tweak your deck
@akiradkcn maybe so but everyone uses her to the point that hand traps makes the game feel unfun to play that I my I almost got a aneurysm because of her existence
@joelbarraclough6689 so its not about tue card being broken or not
Try being more sincere next time
@@akiradkcn sorry I'm dealing with a massive headache that my brain felt like a thumping heart
Wow, 3 mins ago, happy to join so early
I never hated most decks pure.
Generic support is where it get's annoying.
I loath prometeian princes as a card. Dispader and chaos angel. As a few examples.
There desing is so anoying to play against.
I like yubel. If it where not for fiendsmith or worse. Unchained.
The unchained link 2 into s.p. is so anoying to play against.
I dislike most handtraps. So i don't play them. For better or worse.
Imagine crying about chaos angel
Literally skill issue
@akiradkcn agreeing halve to it.
1.st towers are not fun. (No card should have battle and card protection. See crooked cook stall. Play a kaiju or the link 5.)
2.nd Why can i summon it without a tuner.
