"Still it's um, time for something new now" "Whatever happens next, I do not think it is to be feared" Letting go and accepting the end. Accepting that you won't be able to play music around a campfire forerver, was a hard lesson that this game taught me. It changed how I looked at my future. So these two quotes hit the hardest for me. Thank you Outer Wilds
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets absolutely destroyed by this ending every time! This was a really fun playthrough! Thanks for sharing it with us!
another dlc ending, someone else crying, me crying, we're all crying. this game changed my life's perspective. such a unique experience. nice gameplay :)
I love that each instrument added a new dimension to the song, and the Owlk's minor notes really hit home. It was perfect for them - breaks my heart whenever I hear it.
I love how each track adds a new dimension to the theme. Solanum's part is one of the more complex set of notes they thread in, it feel like it signifies the nomai's journey and effort so well.
"I've never played anything like it before," It's so true. I think it should be studied closely because it opened up an entire dimension of emotions that aren't touched by games.
Congratz on finishing the game! It is unfortunate that you can only experience the game once, but luckily there are gamers like you through which we all can re-experience it. Much appreciated.
Wait till you hear this, the prisoner had no idea you were in the ash twin project, and so he assumed that in order to free him, you just straight up killed yourself and would never be able to return, which is why in his final moments, he asks you to join him in putting out your flame and finally getting some well deserved rest.
The prisoner didnt know the process that we went to to unlock the vault; for all he knew, we brute forced the codes. They made the locking mechanisms to imprison him so how would he know
Your playthrough was with an older version of the game - I think you said that you streamed this ~4 years ago? They've added another detail to the end of the DLC, after you release the prisoner and follow him back outside the vault, which wasn't there when you did it. You could fire up the latest version of the game and re-do that bit, or if not I'll say what it is below some spoiler space. . . . . . . . . . . . . When you emerge from the sealed vault, as well as the vision torch with the "memory" of you and the prisoner rafting off into the sunrise (supernova?), there are also hoofprints showing you the trail of the prisoner, from the vault entrance to the vision torch and then leading into the water. It also puts up a mini "credit screen", with just the DLC's name, before restarting the loop, to make it clear that yes, you've now finished the DLC.
You did miss the 100% ending screen though! There’s supposed to be a thing on the left side in the forest❤ Not sure what triggers it specifically (sorry!), maybe you missed something when revisiting the game for the DLC?
I wonder if my camera is blocking it, or was it added after the initial release? this was played basically on launch! If not i'll have to revisit it and check it out

Still my favourite game, to this day
I still love how the prisoner asks you to "ride into the sunset" with them.
I just want to hug him and tell him it'll be ok now :(
the sentiment of carrying them with you. just...so good.
The Owlk's instrument is so perfectly selected for sounding so sad and regretful. I love it.

@@BigRupper And the interplay between Solanum's piano and the Prisoner's theremin(?) is just amazing.
I think Solanum’s part just seems so uplifting and hopeful, like Solanum going “Yes! Someone did it! Yes!”🎉

even the title got me emotional
The best part! Your genuine reactions make for an amazing second experience! much love
The Base Game + the DLC is a perfect Canon, but for anyone who wants more, if you're on a PC, some of the fan-made story mods are really good as well.
I've been having a look at these. Will definitely be trying them out soon!

Thank you so much for watching. I've never had a game hit me on such an emotional level before. I won't be forgetting it any time soon.
Your pain and tears feed me, and at the same time they remind me that I will never be able to enjoy this game again as my first time playing it.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ANOTHE- wait this is the last one? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
IT DO BE :( might try out some of the modded content though 👀
I have to say, i adore the music in this game
it's so iconic! Really fits the theme of the game perfectly.

@dxxander because you share your story with him
@@spinningredchair8092 True, I forgot that in-universe more information was probably shared lmao

Yes, I think that really helped with clarity. I watched a friend play through and noticed that on his. Think it was much needed!

Ooh whats supposed to be there? I think I 100% the base game in terms of major additions & this was ontop of that original save file.
