@Alex Jay - The point is: They weren't kids. Life was far more difficult. They were essentially adults by age 14 to 16 (depending on varying factors). But from a societal and social responsibility standpoint, they were adults by that age regardless (and all of that makes perfect sense for a variety of reasons/ necessity, such as the fact that the average lifespan was far shorter). Instead of people having (and being able to actually make use of) that longer lifespan, they must "be educated" according to artificially imposed standards and will so they can be/ will be hired in the "world of work" - i.e. the business and corporate world. Without that education most people will not be hired. So then you have to follow the money and ask: Cui Bono? What they have done now, forced upon society by religion, special interests, institutions, Academia, etc. (in large part by financial motivations), is to actually in many ways harm Western societies. They lose that labor force. Young people loose that work experience. Young people lose that sexual experience and experience raising and taking care of a family while they're still young. It was also I believe, because it was natural. Child birth only gets more difficult for women as they age. This is the way the entire world used to do things. It was nature and natural. And it had nothing then (or now in reality) to do with socioeconomic systems or sociopolitical systems (Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, Democracy, etc.). But now so-called modern Western values and religious values have been imposed upon us, and it is in most ways harmful (especially as economies, and industries collapse, population grows, and humans will increasingly have less jobs (nowhere near enough jobs or the means to survive as robots, mechanization, and artificial intelligence take over). Human societies were inherently based on/ upon the Free Market and social/ societal cohesion (Democracy in one form or another in terms of behavior). Of course it was also more a matter of survival and a dog eat dog world. Then you had Aristocracy/ Monarchy/ Dynasty which was both good and evil. The point of all of this for me is: Why and how did we end up where we are now? And that is the kind of research I've been doing for the last 15 years.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. @Alex Jay - The point is: They weren't kids. Life was far more difficult. They were essentially adults by age 14 to 16 (depending on varying factors). But from a societal and social responsibility standpoint, they were adults by that age regardless (and all of that makes perfect sense for a variety of reasons/ necessity, such as the fact that the average lifespan was far shorter).
Instead of people having (and being able to actually make use of) that longer lifespan, they must "be educated" according to artificially imposed standards and will so they can be/ will be hired in the "world of work" - i.e. the business and corporate world. Without that education most people will not be hired. So then you have to follow the money and ask: Cui Bono?
What they have done now, forced upon society by religion, special interests, institutions, Academia, etc. (in large part by financial motivations), is to actually in many ways harm Western societies. They lose that labor force. Young people loose that work experience. Young people lose that sexual experience and experience raising and taking care of a family while they're still young.
It was also I believe, because it was natural. Child birth only gets more difficult for women as they age. This is the way the entire world used to do things. It was nature and natural. And it had nothing then (or now in reality) to do with socioeconomic systems or sociopolitical systems (Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, Democracy, etc.).
But now so-called modern Western values and religious values have been imposed upon us, and it is in most ways harmful (especially as economies, and industries collapse, population grows, and humans will increasingly have less jobs (nowhere near enough jobs or the means to survive as robots, mechanization, and artificial intelligence take over).
Human societies were inherently based on/ upon the Free Market and social/ societal cohesion (Democracy in one form or another in terms of behavior). Of course it was also more a matter of survival and a dog eat dog world. Then you had Aristocracy/ Monarchy/ Dynasty which was both good and evil. The point of all of this for me is: Why and how did we end up where we are now? And that is the kind of research I've been doing for the last 15 years.

While obsessing over the Earth's temperature hasn't been effective, I can at least see how problematic the amount of waste dumped into the environment is. Instead of making doomsday predictions, why not focus on reducing waste and making our means of energy and production more efficient?
The 3 most efficient means of energy production we know of are nuclear, oil, and coal. Their energy density is highest and the amount of energy lost in transformation is lowest.
