That's what uninformed conservatives do unfortunately and we should be teaching people to get into politics after they've studied other things or subcategories that build up to the vastness of knowledge and understanding required for politics. It isnt a simple issue to be resolved with simple answers, that's just not how things work in the real world of desperation like Putin is saying here. People in third world countries cant "have their cake and eat it too" without contributing to these issues because it would cost them their livelihood. Again as Putin said, go try and tell all those people to live in even more extreme poverty for 20-30 years to solve all the environmental and social issues for the future and see what they have to say about it. @mcwolfus 1 yes, okay. my little sister once saw a 'save the polar bears' advert on TV. she was convinced it was the biggest problem ever! one that must be sorted immediately! etc etc. it's a child's point of view, where things are simple. she would have loved nothing more than to go on an adventure to save those polar bears. would she have considered anything else? the cost of it? accommodation? how to do it? the dangers? that polar bears are not cuddly friendly animals, etc etc? no she considered none of that. because she's a child. that's greta, living the dream of a little girl, saving the world! it's nonsense. she's a tool for corporations to trick idiots into doing what they want.
It proves the Reality of World hidden by the Western Media. The Competant and Good Leader is Putin (of course he's not the obky one) And the terrible and actually evil ones (they're showing their real faces more and more) are the Western ones. That is a truth that the French have actually woken up to
It's weird, listen to him speak on any matter and you'll have a similar reaction. I know he's accused of awful things but he seems to just exude logic, sense and intelligence whenever he speaks.
What is exactly valid about his "point" ? Isn't it what he's saying is that the human ego, wealth, greed, money, power is not itself the big problem of humanity? This is called conditioning. A child understands life better than adults, because a child is actually able to understand and perceive life in an objective and pure manner, rather than the mind's corruption and control everyone is living in. If we want to go even deeper, the problem itself of humanity is this human thinking focused on things such as money and corrupted systems. Also, as a matter of fact, this planet is dying, scientists also know that, then if we want to "explain to people" that they will eventually live in poverty, isn't "poverty" by definition 'living well so another can live in poverty' since there is no equality in this world, and we are all humans ? These are only "superficial" thinking created by the human mind himself which makes him care about 'money', a piece of paper, which is also a human creation. Humans are the ones who've created all these superficial concepts from the very beginning, combined with superficial thinking, that made this planet itself suffer from an unnatural imbalance. So to "explain that people cannot live in poverty" to her, is superficial, because it is a human creation with human concepts and thinking. And as a child who still have an unconditionned vision about life and about how it SHOULD REALLY BE, she is more right than these leaders only thinking about money, wealth and power. If this earth is about to die, what will all this money serve to? They will just die with the dying planet, and all this caring about money and superficial concepts will be totally pointless because their lives will be threatened. Maybe only then, they will realize they've got it all wrong from the very beginning. She questions the corruption itself about how systemes are put and are working, and that's exactly why they disagree with her, because she threatens their influence and power.
Mōrrigan Phronesis look mate ! Let me educate. First of all Planet is not dying. You say scientist agree on it. Well scientist agree on the fact that climate models are inconclusive. And all the models that predicted global warming, have failed.. and were not able to predict the current climate. Climate depends on many factor and CO2 is not one of the fundamental factors. Water vapor is the most important one. And the paper of science you’re referring or the one with 97% of scientist agree that human activities have affected climate change. Was a survey on just 77 scientists. And the extent to which they have consensus about is still debatable and not mentioned. Plus most of the worlds climatologist don’t agree on climate change. Look you may not be from a third world country, but I am. And I cannot stand your hypocrisy while you could be staying on a heated room with all facilities. We don’t even have 24 hours of electricity. And you want the world to slow it’s economic growth. So our countries can remain poor, hungry. Annually 400 billion dollars is separated for climate change. While 30-40 billion dollars can solve poverty. Because of CO2 our planets ecosystem has never been better. Moreover renewable sources of energy is very expensive. Very very unreliable. He raises a valid point ...” because you should go and tell the hungry kids in Africa that they will still be in hunger cause the planet is dying and there’s no money to provide energy or food for them, then you’d know.
Mōrrigan Phronesis never seen a youth being this misinformed, look I don’t have anything against her nor does Putin. Cause the planet is not dying. Just 100 years ago there were more dangerous disasters. And one more thing.. science says the earths climate is a spectrum it warms for a while then cools for a while and then it’s on repeat. Educate yourself mate before arguing with someone who actually knows facts. Rather than being overwhelmed by emotions of the world is dying do something to help the poor.
Mōrrigan Phronesis Renewable sources of energy is a new source for the rich to get richer. “ renewable sources are heavily unreliable “ that’s bill gates words. The rich can afford renewables but the poor can’t. Fossil fuel is a cheap and reliable source of energy. It could have been the backbone of your country economic development. Now, when the developing countries want to do the same thing .. you are like (no no no). Hypocrisy at its finest. Did you know as she mentions people are dying.. did she know “the number of people dying because of cold is 20 times than people dying because of heat. And you want to cool the planet. “ that is by a scientist in Cambridge. Stop being misinformed and go for the real facts. The history of earth doesn’t start at 1970s like you believe. It started millions of years ago and you could ask the scientist personally they will answer “the earth was warmer back then” and people survived. They will also agree on the fact “that the amount of carbon dioxide on the atmosphere in the past was really really high compared to the levels it is now.” So just stop it. And i was also pointing a bigger point, which is NOT the climate change itself, i think you should read my comment more than once before arguing back about a message you didn't get anything about, if something, you understood the total opposite of it, since you're so focused on "knowledge and information", which, for me, information can always be changed and controlled, by the medias, that are themselves the governement's and leader's puppets.I didn't really talk about climate change in case you didn't notice. :) What i was trying to say all along is that humans are spiritual beings, who lives in a superficial world full of bullshit, poverty, limitations, corruption, and inequality. Climate change is nothing but a triggering subject to actually start ACTING and THINKING to CHANGE the world to a better world for all of us! That was my point, and this has absolutely nothing to do with what you understood from it. Everyone DESERVES to live and have a happy life, and the planet should be protected and cared of. Climate change itself wasn't the issue of my message, because it has a more pacific and harmonious view toward how human life should be, and i despise any kind of superficiality. The issue here is the societies and systems themselves, and liar politicians that aren't caring at all about humanity's or nature's sake. And there is more to life than power, wealth and money, than the superficial views of politicians and governments. We could all live harmonious and happy life, yet the human ego is so blind that he limits himself to such limited and corrupted concepts. THAT, was my message, not what you understood.
We need to be realistic--thats what Greta is doing. There is a problem, acknowledge it and find solution. No one is demanding a solution in a snap of a finger, we all know this problem cannot be solved in a blink of an eye, but atleast our politicians and oil companies will acknowledge the problem and start brainstorming. Just because it is difficult to solve does not mean there is no solution. Elon Musk is doing something, building an E-cars, announced contest in public for best approach for carbon capture proposal, and many more. If oil companies and our government united to commit to find effective approach then we might have saved many lives and properties. Mysterious Muffin not really. How does that affect the economies that are causing the majority of the problem (Russia, China, the USA)? Those are the worlds strongest economies. They could all very easily enforce a switch to solar power and wind farms, which would solve a significant portion of the problem. But the answer to that is ‘Africa can’t afford to do it, so we aren’t going to either’. Nope, sorry, that’s just not good enough.
Ultima2876 But the thing is those countries won’t STAY the largest economies if they all switch so drastically, therefore making the situations in Africa and Asia worse. Listen, I’m all for environmental protection and everything, and I consider my politics left wing. However I recognise that it’s not as simple as “let’s just all change and it will all be good”. Kellen As I said before, I’m not a huge fan of Putin. I’d rather have the former Soviet Union back over him. However you must acknowledge he isn’t being critical of Greta here, in fact he’s supportive of her. However I, as a progressive myself, recognise that sometimes we have unrealistic expectations. Russia is only the powerhouse that it is now because of Stalin’s rapid industrialisation of the nation during the 30’s. However under his regime millions perished, both directly and indirectly due to his policies. Considering how heavy the toll was to achieve that the Russian people would obviously be extremely weary to see that happen again. Therefore is installing some solar panels really worth that happening again? As I said before, I support environmentalist movements and the like, however it takes time for a country to change that much, and as we’ve seen throughout history when we rush things disaster strikes.

His basic point is that if it were easy to ‘take action’ and solve climate change then it would have already been taken - the issue is that there are so many variables to control for, as well as the fact that the cost of the transition to renewable energy sources will be massive. Yes, but his speech is very specifically and carefully putting blame elsewhere. He says Africa can't invest in renewable energy because they need to pollute to reach our standard of living, which is fine. The amount of pollution from Africa is negligible. Renewable energy is (was) expensive, but if you stimulate supply for it, you can easily artificially lower the price substantially. By the the Africa gets close to the standard of living of Eastern European countries, we'll have invested enough in renewable energy to make the transition very easy for them. Well, both raise good points. Greta has hit the nail in the head about several topics. Our world is a closed system, which means that while power can be obtained in a renewable manner, it is expensive, and it is impossible to do so with matter [Eventually the materials are too far gone for recicling] and anyone who says otherwise needs to think again. And global warming IS a critical issue that demands immediate attention. BUT Putin is also right in other things. Green energy, while renewable, is also expensive, and not all polymers derived from oil can be easily replaced. And developing nations have limited resources, and will not hesitate to use polluting tech to increase standarts of living faster. That said, resources need to be managed in a more inteligent manner, and remaining resources should be used to aid the transition, not to mantain an unsustainable status quo. Greta might not have all the answers, but she made the right questions. Which is already better than most.

Centuries ago western countries started their industrialization without ecology concerns. Today, based on that, and colonialism (read: plundering Africa&Asia), they are rich and would like to stay such by, among other things, preventing poor nations to develop. Those poor nations must try to industrialize, but can not affort to mind Greta's eco histery. When as rich as SWE and USA, talk to them again. They shall have an open heart, I have no doubts.
Nope. Climate action actually explicitly states this idea of carbon-offset to allow poorer countries to evolve. We, as far richer countries, have a duty to reduce our carbon enough (aka carbon negative) that developing countries can invest and develop without fear of adding to climate change. This is, of course, with the caviat of getting those countries to switch as quickly as possible to sustainable and green economics, but it's well understood by everyone that we, who have the technology, need to support those who don't. Pretending like the world's top scientists haven't already thought of this is pure propaganda at this point

This is not a critical. He is raising a valid point.
I feel sad for her cause she is being weaponized so the people can make money of her.
@@shalombhatta6419 Apparently you're totally missing the point i'm trying to say. I've never said the poor should stay poor, if not the exact CONTRARY. My words are targetting this exact point : The abusive governements. If climate change isn't real for example, POLLUTION is, POVERTY is, HUMAN GREED is, and so on. These superficial ego concepts that makes life for everyone so shitty, especially for an empath as myself. I don't need to be personally touched by a disaster to feel sorry for others, this world's unfairness and stupidity is making me sick, and for me, this child is nothing but a trigger for people to actually start thinking and try to make a real change by becoming themselves the change they want to see in the world.
"we just need to be realistic". Golden words !
We need to be realistic that we are destroying the planet and we don't take any responsibility about it.
I’m not a huge Putin fan, but I would in no way call this being critical. He brings up a very good point actually.
It’s a gradual process, it took thousands of years for us as a species to even learn to use electricity for example.

I agree with Putin, it is easy for people living in developed countries to say everyone should use renewable energy resources or eco friendly products because they are affordable and easily accessible to them but for others in developing and underdeveloped countries it is not easy or possible as they try to find whatever resources to survive and live a good life.
That’s right not every African can travel on a eco-friendly yacht like she has done. Most of what Greta has said is unrealistic and shows her naïveté.
@@Christopher_3191 Correct but it's not just Africa, there are so many countries in Asia and South America as well who cannot afford such amenities but Americans and Europeans like Greta think that they can dictate the world what to do and what not to do just because they feel that they are inferior to others.

The wars in the middle east are complicated, extremely complicated and oil might of course play some part in it. with an exception that it is not a common sense and logic, since its more than confirmed that people are going to have it much more worse then during covid times due to warming, and what he told that african people want also electric home appliances is a big lie, since Africa is the least contributor to the global warming and greenhouse gasses emissions. Understandable right? So tell me now please, where is that logic.
When Greta opens her mouth, all I hear is BLAH BLAH BLAH! 😏
@@ionphaser7092 what he is saying is that African countries will prioritise the development of the quality of life of their citizens before being concerned about environmental issues (being a developed country usually correlates with concern for the environment). Therefore, it is quite complex as to how to ensure that these countries can develop whilst not exacerbating the effects of climate change over the next 50-100 years. His basic point is that if it were easy to ‘take action’ and solve climate change then it would have already been taken - the issue is that there are so many variables to control for, as well as the fact that the cost of the transition to renewable energy sources will be massive. I think that is a reasonable thing to say, and that tackling climate change should be done in a responsible cost/benefit way so as to protect people’s livelihoods whilst addressing the issue with alacrity
@@NUFCcomps No matter that once africa will want to get more developed, when we have problem now when africa produces 2 percent of global warming contribution and we produce 98 percent of it, so we cant scapegoat 2 percent contributor (2 percents wont save us), no matter how you want to sugarcoat that nonsense, if you thought about it at least for a second.
@@ionphaser7092 I’m not scapegoating them, I don’t know why you’re suggesting that. It’s pertinent to climate change that as these countries develop, they will likely seek out energy sources that are cheaper (fossil fuels). That’s the point, not that African countries are at fault for climate change. If any country is to be blamed, it would be China given that they are the biggest emitter and are making a slower transition in comparison to western countries

His facts are bullshit. These developing countries are not the current issue, but he chose to focus on them, why? Because he wanted to make a straw man. China can still change. The US can still change. Wealth of a country is not determined by carbon emissions, as they are simply a byproduct. A system that is punitive towards high emissions can also be supportive of green solutions. Did Putin mention anything like balance? Or focus on those that can make a change?

Exactly my thoughts when I heard about Greta. Transitioning to renewable energy overnight is impossible, and berating nations for not being able to do so is both unfair and unrealistic. It's far more complicated than it seems, and to do it in such a rapid pace would mean you have to ask the populace to endure hardship for several years, because you would have to phase out and replace a lot of the existing infrastructure to accommodate the rapid change, hence why the solution to climate change is slow, otherwise it would be too unbearable.
Greta is actually quite the hypocrite. The only reason she can say those things is because she lives a comfortable life. Stole her childhood? Face people who are actually from Africa and Asia, see if you can keep a straight face saying that to them face to face without facing immedaite backlash from the crowd of Africans and Asians fighting everyday just ro survive and demand that they do something about climate change whem they can barely feed themselves.

Centuries ago western countries started their industrialization without ecology concerns. His point on developing countries is absolutely spot on. Glaring hypocrisy and people don't mention it enough.
