bows and butcher knives are the most op weapons in the game, bows with the mouse wood and short arrows allow you to deal insane amounts of damage since each shot will add 200% damage to all arrows for the combat so your second shot will effectively be 3x damage your third shot will be 5x damage and so on. I got a build with over a 1000 damage per turn. Butcher knives are also insane since the king or queen knife allow you to use all adjacent or diagonal knives at the same time, so you could use 5 knives at a time or more if you activate a queen knife with a kings knife. Also if you get +1 rage or the clock artifact then all the knives get +1 for each attack.
Ah, i love playing this game from time to time! The constant updates really feel nice. Although i recommend you be careful with Endless mode, because while yes the game allows you to continue after you've won, it's like *really* unbalanced with scaling. It's even warned on the discord; current updates don't take endless into account yet, but i'm still enthousiast to see how far you'll go! My guess is you won't get past the second "chapter" in endless; floors 12 to 15! But i guess we'll see!
Absolutely love this game, saw the first video, followed the link and probably already dumped an unhealthy amount of time into it. Hope you post more in the future, favorite game on the channel since frost punk a while back (also, thoughts on shotgun king? feel like that game would be right up your alley)
Luck rings are cracked. I always pick them up when I can, they seem to increase the chance of more luck rings, I can usually stack 4 or 5 of them and get tons of rares and legendaries.
I played one game, had a single weapon buffed by 5 legendary gems and the rest of the pack was armors, helms, and a pair of boots. One armor gave haste so I started with 32 block and gained more every turn after, my weapon did 25 damage and gained +1 after every attack. I never took damage outside of curses because you cant block that damage, the weapon healed 1 and vamp'd 1 so I could recover but died in zone 3-1.
If I’m seeing correctly, the letter buffs weapons adjacent to it *before* it moves, meaning that by pressing the weapon against the top of the backpack loses you an extra use.
One thing i had once was the assasins dagger. It only deals 3 damage, but for every kill with it, it's damage increases by 1 PERMANENTLY. I got it to like 50 and died cuz i did'nt pay antention to the enemies attacks
I won the game in my first try. Went for Heavy autoblocking, thorns for days, magic block with magic regen per turn och a good ol club to smash things with. Of course the club got mega upgraded during the run. Also had a small lifesteal dagger to regen some life. GG
If you can get Shield Spirit and Soldier Shield, you get the most absolutely BROKEN combo in the game. Soldier shield gives +1 damage to all adjacent weapons on use. Shield Spirit gives -1 damage to all adjacent weapons on shield use BUT also makes your shield's activate ALL adjacent weapons. FOR FREE! Surround it in cleavers and you literally just get a mega cluster of DEATH! Note for Cleavers: King is the better initial point. Surround a King in Queens, and you can fragment out a lot.
Why do you use the sword before the letter after you reorganize? 30:39 as an example Edit: I thought the letter buff lasted the entire encounter, and not just the turn it was used
Yeah that confused me as well... Normally Tyler would easily spot the fact that reorganize + 4 letters + 1 attack is an insane strategy compared to reorganize + 1 attack...
Because I'd have to spend 3 mana the next turn on reorganizing again lmao. Or I could not use the letter and have it ready for next turn with 4 supercharged attacks
@@Aliensrock Just jumped back and rewatched the point you picked the letter up and I get it now: I thought the bonus was for one ATTACK not for one TURN... That obviously makes waiting a turn far FAR better ^^

I am just so in love with this game I've been playing it on my own and its just so diverse and there is so much you can do.. apparently you can win the game? but I've gotten nowhere near close and its so fun still (also love watching the game keep it coming
I got 2 early luck rings, on the first floor. Ended up with a Cursed sword. Farmed bees to surround it with 7 cured honeys. It was insane damage, beat the first boss on endless with it. Also waterskins with seasoning are bonkers.
I’ve found that bow builds are insanely good with a bow that adds extra damage as well as gems. I’ve had a lot of fun with bow builds, but I’ve been trying to get a viable cleaver run going since I can see a path for it with the chef’s hat and the king cleaver
I love this game! Can't wait for more content. right now there are a couple of abilities missing to really make game play more versatile, but I'm hopeful! It's odd that you seem to have different enemies than I do? Like, for as much as I've played this I haven't seen some of them...
Haste give bonus block when blocking, including blocking per turn from armor Try items that gives haste per turn, like archangel armor (rare), I got 70+ blocking in the last area. I used pick axe btw
*stares angrily at the thumbnail art* THE VAMPIRE AXE IS A 3 LENGTH THE SCIMITAR IS A 3 LENGTH METAL GLOVES ARE HEAVY AND WOULD SINK, AS WELL AS NOT WORKING LIKE THAT HELMETS DEBUFF OTHER HELMETS, AS DO BOOTS! *I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THERE EVEN IS AN ORANGE WHETSTONE*
Gah, you missed the best part of the mail build... you can fill the bag spaces with consumables (e.g., food), then consume them when you need to use the letter. It also provides space to take a curse as well.
I feel like the scaling on the game is pretty scuffed at the moment. Most things aren't a problem until level 3 at which point unless you have a strong build the game gets very difficult. Especially if you get fire gecko's which are OP, they deal decent regular damage, add fire and add curses plus always 3 of them. Archery is also difficult to scale fast enough without the correct gear rolls. Still love playing the game but it needs tweaks for full release
the game is just stat check the game. so really this problem will exist or be really easy game. if that is gonna change the damage numbers need to go down everywhere and the game will need to implement more mechanics to actually push players to make decisions on your turn
So why didnt he reorganize the letter after useing it, then using the weapon so it dose like 80 damage instead of 47 that would be very good for the last boss as for it would not build rage or thorns.
Imo blockbuster is the 2nd most op thing (I heard that archery was better). The ring of doom is also op together Sith the mana frog (i forgot it’s name)
I got a pretty good brick and helmet build, got roughly 51 shield and 6 spikes to self each turn, getting a kill gave me 2 haste which gave me more shield per brick

bows and butcher knives are the most op weapons in the game, bows with the mouse wood and short arrows allow you to deal insane amounts of damage since each shot will add 200% damage to all arrows for the combat so your second shot will effectively be 3x damage your third shot will be 5x damage and so on.
Aliensrock: Meal for emergency energy.
Also Aliensrock: well, screw you!
Absolutely love this game, saw the first video, followed the link and probably already dumped an unhealthy amount of time into it.
Hope you post more in the future, favorite game on the channel since frost punk a while back
(also, thoughts on shotgun king? feel like that game would be right up your alley)
For people who play backpack hero, that thumbnail is the most satisfying and unsatisfying thing EVER 😂
Yeah, haha, the heavy gloves not being on the bottom kind of bugs me though
It's lovely to see you succeeding in variety, loved your content since bloons. Keep it up broski
“Friendship ended with Vampiric Axe. Now Jagged Blade is my best friend.”
Luck rings are cracked. I always pick them up when I can, they seem to increase the chance of more luck rings, I can usually stack 4 or 5 of them and get tons of rares and legendaries.
I enjoy going back and just rewatching older videos of your's
This game seems like it would be awesome with a content update. Just from this early version alone im in love with it. Keep up the good work man
the moment when I realized bows and arrows can be quite ridiculous with the spice relic and a boat load of consumables
What a sick build! So fun
“Where does it say that I’m supposed to give a shit?” This is definitely something tyler would say
If I’m seeing correctly, the letter buffs weapons adjacent to it *before* it moves, meaning that by pressing the weapon against the top of the backpack loses you an extra use.
no after it moves it buffs adjacent weapons. If you had a shiv, for example, next to it at the bottom, when it moved up it would not buff it.
The letter buffs after moving. If it buffed before, you could just click it repeatedly at the top of the screen and buff infinitely
GG
4 spaces long bow, next to it 4 arrows horizontal, then verttical shaft for the letter, then 4 more horizontal arrows. 8*6 extra damage per action
"What IS this build?"
It's the "Nobody kills me but me"
If you can get Shield Spirit and Soldier Shield, you get the most absolutely BROKEN combo in the game.
30:39 as an example
Edit: I thought the letter buff lasted the entire encounter, and not just the turn it was used
Yeah that confused me as well...
@@Aliensrock Just jumped back and rewatched the point you picked the letter up and I get it now:
I thought the bonus was for one ATTACK not for one TURN...
That obviously makes waiting a turn far FAR better ^^
@@Aliensrock Oh ok I thought the letter bonus lasted the entire battle, not just one turn. So I thought it would just stack until the end of the encounter
Letter is busted lol, I'm currently in an ongoing run that started off with a letter from Matthew, combined with a weak damage wand later on, and with a ton of mana stones and and ancient tome + buffs, the letter Kickstarted a wand that starts with 1 damage all the way to 30 + damage per hit
4:58 "and that's the only way to get a kill"
12+12+12: am I a joke to you
I am just so in love with this game I've been playing it on my own and its just so diverse and there is so much you can do.. apparently you can win the game? but I've gotten nowhere near close and its so fun still
(also love watching the game keep it coming
Indeed, magma finale wins the game and/or optionally goes into endless mode after as well
I got 2 early luck rings, on the first floor. Ended up with a Cursed sword. Farmed bees to surround it with 7 cured honeys. It was insane damage, beat the first boss on endless with it. Also waterskins with seasoning are bonkers.
I don't know how you do it I try every game you play and you're just 10x better keep up the good work
I had a a broken run today with a king cleaver synergy. I was lucky enough to also get belt of knives which made the run even better.
I'm pretty sure that if you restart the run you get to start out with some items, instead of having the same basic things
The games aliensrock plays are always entertaining
Haste give bonus block when blocking, including blocking per turn from armor
Try items that gives haste per turn, like archangel armor (rare), I got 70+ blocking in the last area. I used pick axe btw
Be careful with Vampirism, it triggers thons seperately from damage so you can mulch yourself if you stack both together.
*stares angrily at the thumbnail art*
THE VAMPIRE AXE IS A 3 LENGTH
THE SCIMITAR IS A 3 LENGTH
METAL GLOVES ARE HEAVY AND WOULD SINK, AS WELL AS NOT WORKING LIKE THAT
HELMETS DEBUFF OTHER HELMETS, AS DO BOOTS!
*I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THERE EVEN IS AN ORANGE WHETSTONE*
I find it funny how the concept that made Paper Mario: Sticker Star so bad made this game so intresting
Gah, you missed the best part of the mail build... you can fill the bag spaces with consumables (e.g., food), then consume them when you need to use the letter.
It also provides space to take a curse as well.
It severely hurt me watching him not use the ethereal whetstone the entire game
17:17 Did you know that a jiffy is an actually measurement of time?
Well this video was great so happy to see this game again hopefully endless is not to troubling
Loved it the first time, gonna love it now.
Friendship ended with Vampiric Axe. Now my new friend is Jagged Blade.
Tip: If You really care about rage how much You take from rage damage You can use mirror shield to nullify rage on opponent.
Still love playing the game but it needs tweaks for full release
the game is just stat check the game. so really this problem will exist or be really easy game. if that is gonna change the damage numbers need to go down everywhere and the game will need to implement more mechanics to actually push players to make decisions on your turn
rage is so much better than damage... with rage your weapons get +1 dmg for every use
Do more of this it’s so fun to watch
One thing about endless, it gets hard quick if you are not prepared
Absolutely insane. The barricade meta
So why didnt he reorganize the letter after useing it, then using the weapon so it dose like 80 damage instead of 47 that would be very good for the last boss as for it would not build rage or thorns.
He could take the spike so 47*3 was better
Imo blockbuster is the 2nd most op thing (I heard that archery was better). The ring of doom is also op together Sith the mana frog (i forgot it’s name)
Endless mode gets pretty hard by the way
You're so good at this game, woah
Imagine he goes back to this game and gets ducking whiplash.
Tyler, if you're reading this, it'd be so very content if you revisited this game.
"Where does it say that i have to give a shit"
-tyler 2022
I got a pretty good brick and helmet build, got roughly 51 shield and 6 spikes to self each turn, getting a kill gave me 2 haste which gave me more shield per brick
not sure that anyone else noticed this, but I think the letter gives the damage BEFORE it moves
31:26 got me rolling
This crime of a pack with that many helmets
This build looks super fun
